Next up was the "Win a date with Aquaman" competition.  Wes wins!

The theater says "Theme Park Review" so I guess that means we should all go inside.

We even had our own personalized power point presentation!

Jay Thomas, president of the park, wanted to give us a glimpse into the park's future.

While yes the park is getting a newly re-vamped X2 and the Thomas Town area, they are also working to improve some
"behind the scenes" stuff that while may not be obvious the moment you walk in the gate, should improve your overall
park visit.  "We know we spent millions on new steel coasters" Jay said, "but we neglected to fix the bathrooms."
The new Six Flags management regime seem more focused on the overall guest "experience" than the former owners, Premiere Parks were.

Another major improvement will be to implement a new management philosophy that focuses on improving Guest Service.
The "IBU" or "Individual Business Unit" promotes "ownership" as each location will be treated as it's own business.  Leads and supervisors
are encouraged to "own" their location and strive to provide a unique and positive experience for their guests.  This system is already in place
at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom, and if you've been to the park in the past year like TPR has, you can already see a difference in
the park staff.  They are friendly, fun, and efficient at a park which used to suffer from lackluster staff.  We hope the same changes
can be made at Six Flags Magic Mountain!

And like Jay said, sometimes in order to move forward you have to take a few steps back....

Earlier this year Magic Mountain removed the wooden coaster Psyclone.

"Munch, munch, munch, goes the wood coaster eating machine!"

Psyclone may be missed by some, but it was consistently ranked one of the worst wooden roller coasters in the world.

The munch mobile grabs the last section of the station!  A station which has lasted for 3 different coasters in this corner of the park!

The removal of Psyclone has given the park quite a large plot of land where hopefully one day there will be some great new expansion here!

Next on the munch mobile's buffet of coasters was Flashback.

A coaster that has been sitting idle for about 4 years which, while very unique, was never as popular as the parks other offerings.

"How to throw a coaster into a dumpster!"

And while some rides are being removed, others are being refurbished.  X and Viper will get brand new paint jobs this year.

Check out how "brand new" Viper now looks!  And as of this writing Deja Vu is currently undergoing a refurb as well.

See!  We've got Jay addicted to our craziness!  Welcome to the site, Jay!

TPR members are looking forward to a new and improved Magic Mountain also!
