The awesome people at Magic Mountain wanted to show off some of the many changes that will be going on at the park
over the next few months.  For starters, we got to check out the site of the former Flashback coaster.

Park President Jay Thomas explains that as much as they hate to take out a ride,
sometimes in order to move forward you have to take a step back.
As a memento, everyone on the tour did get a piece of Flashback to take home with them!

Gone is Flashback, but new for 2008 are these exciting mounds of dirt!

"The exit ramp to virtually nowhere" is also a new for 2008 attraction at the park.

Removing Flashback means more Batman queue theming!

While there is nothing confirmed about what is going into this area, they did "hint" to a few things.
Sure seems the park could do a great Hurricane Harbor expansion here!

"It doesn't matter, we are all just psyched to go backstage and tour the new for 2008 dirt piles!!!"

Oh, and BTW, for those of you who swore that Flashback was getting relocated back where Psyclone used to be, well....

You're RIGHT!!!  =)  It will be rebuilt there once they have enough duct tape and glue to put the trains and track back together!

Ok, ok...I'm joking.  The last thing Jay and Tim need is a flood of emails asking "When's Flashaback going to re-open?"  =)

Yeah, it's dead.  Like REALLY dead.

"This is my new #1 coaster scrap pile!"

Chris was also sad to hear that it looks like Metro's days are over too....

Now it's time for more dirt tours!  This time...it's the all-new THOMAS TOWN!!!

Tim's all "Go!  Go!  Tidmouth Shed!"

Kristen wants to go to Thomas Land now!

"This is my new #1 construction marker!"

So what about Goliath Jr?  We saw it on the image above...how does that fit into Thomas Town?
It will be re-themed to "Percy!"

Our tour of Thomas Town also got us some great views of Goliath.  And technically since this is a theme park/roller coaster website
we feel it is our duty to bring you some unique angles of Goliath.  So here's one.

Here's another one.

And because coaster enthusiasts are known to eat anything....

GULP!
