The Ultimate TPR Tokyo DisneySea Update

The ride starts all cutesy, and I shouldn't have to tell you this, because you've already watch the video...in fact, you're probably still watching it over and over again...

And then fast forward to LAVA MONSTER!!!!

I'm told you can never have too many photos of the Lava Monster...this guy is easily the most amazing animatronic Disney has ever built!

Ok, sure, maybe, technically the Yeti beats him, I dunno, but all I know is this guy always works, and he's awesome AWESOME!!!

He's sort of like Big Foot in that you can never really get a clear photo of him. There lies a bit of mystery in the Lava Monster, but that's part of what makes him cool! (Have you watched the video yet?)

Following the Lava Monster is the high speed uphill section where you get blasted out of the top of the mountain!

This is the part you see from outside of the ride when the cars go down the hill. I'll be honest - it's not a huge drop, like Splash Mountain or something, but it's VERY effective!

And the final run coming into the unload area. Let's get a thermal image of these guys while they're all heated up...oh wait, that's the other ride! ;)

Hooray! Unload area. Seriously...this is one of the most amazing rides in the world! The photos and videos don't do it justice!

I'm told that construction photos of Mount Prometheus are very hard to find! I wonder why that could be? ;)

Since we're still totally pumped from Journey, let's take some relax time and check out how awesome the park looks! Yes, we see you Shiriki...but we'll get back to you later!

Mysterious Island is also home to this "Tom Sawyer's Island" like exploration area. It's housed within this castle or fort looking area.

Another look at Hotel Mira Costa. I think our room was up there somewhere...

Looking from Mount Prometheus over towards the hotel.

And another view. In a way it's kind of like Epcot's Lagoon, but it just seems to have more character to it.

Since the park is Disney"Sea", there water pretty much running through the entire park. And you can get from most of the different locations via the Steamliner boats.

Looking over to the American Waterfront gives you a little bit of early 20th Century USA in Japan.

Mediterranean Harbor, I have to be honest, while it looks freaking AMAZING, is kind of a forgotten about part of the park. It's an Italian "port city" in it's theme, but it really only has the Venetian gondolas to speak of. I would love to see a bigger attraction bring some life to this area.

Another view...more water.

Here was the view of sunset from our room at Hotel Mira Costa. The hotel was just amazing...and you cannot beat the park view!
