The Ultimate TPR Tokyo DisneySea Update

DisneySea, to me, is much like Epcot in the sense that you can spend an afternoon walking around the park, not even riding that much, and just enjoying the park, sampling some food and drink, and still have an excellent time!

Everywhere you turn in this park, it's like an eyegasm of awesome stuff to look at! It never gets old!

This is that crazy drilling machine that you learn about while in the queue for Journey. And yes, the drills spin, and steam comes of of it. Of course it does, I mean, it's DisneySea! Spare no detail on the theming!

This is the river that separates some of the other lands. I'm standing on a pathway with the Mermaid Lagoon to the left, Lost River Delta straight ahead, and the Arabian Coast to the right.

Another look into Lost River Delta. That's the Indiana Jones Adventure in the background.

Oh, yeah! I totally forgot to post a picture of the Journey cars spitting out of the mountain! There you go!

PLOP!

Ok, let's get back to some attractions. But first one with a little bit of history. Sindbad's Storybook Voyage originally opened as "Sindbad's Seven Voyages", but the ride was deemed to dark and scary for kids and families, and it was kind of true. In 2007, the ride was re-themed and added some elements that would make it more attractive to kids, including a new character, "Chandu" the Tiger, which ended up being KidTums' favorite toy of our Japan trip!

The videos below are the current version of the ride, and then scenes from the old version so you can compare the two. Personally I think the addition of the new music and likeable characters gives this attraction something more "memorable" and more importantly "marketable."

Here is the current version in it's entirety:

Here are scenes from the old version of the attraction:

Sindbad and Chandu welcome riders to their adventure.

"I'm gonna save me some big-ass birds so I can make me a big-ass omelet!"

HOLY CRAP! It's Vogel Rok!!!

So Sindbad is going to save this genie with a feather? Ok....

Well, hell! It worked!

Sindbad is going to party like it's nine.

Chandu plays the drums, because that's what pet tigers do.

These monkeys may look pissed off, but they just really, REALLY, ***REALLY*** want to give you their bananas.

"Never trust a drumming monkey, Sindbad."

If you watch the "old version" video, you can see that these monkeys did NOT in fact, want to give you their bananas! =)

That's actually an ACEr they are standing on, and he's making his way to the buffet in the American Waterfront section of the park.

Hooray! Sindbad has made it home, so let's have some half-naked women!
