Shows are a strong suit of Universal. Waterworld is the park's long running stunt spectacular based on the movie of the same name. The show is entertaining for all age groups. Universal's Animal Actors is a must see for any family with children and pet lovers alike. The Special Effects Stage shows you the behind the scenes aspects of make-up, computer generated effect, 3D, stop action, blue screen and many other Hollywood staples. |

TPR Notes |
|
Universal Studios Hollywood is a movie studio first and a theme park second. You can get a feel for true Hollywood production on its signature Studio Tour, which is a must see for any visit and the most popular attraction in the park. The park has a very compact feel, however. It is separated into two sections (the lower and upper lot) serviced by very large escalator that can increase travel times, so plan your day wisely. Visit during a weekday to increase your chances of seeing actual filming taking place and make sure to check the production board at the entrance. Food is decent although limited inside the park with much better food selections in the adjacent Citywalk. Unless you visit during a peak time, the park can be seen in about six hours--but keep a full day available to explore the Citywalk entertainment district afterwards. Live entertainment is a also a strength of this park--make sure you get to its signature shows early for good seats. The park now incorporates the Wizarding World of Harry Potter
