So it'll be "Tron Track" now, eh?

http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2012/04/new-renderings-depict-a-reimagined-test-track-at-epcot/

Many of you have asked for an update on what’s going on at Test Track at Epcot, and we’re happy to announce that new renderings were just released by Walt Disney Imagineering this morning!

When complete, the reimagining of this attraction will allow guests to design their own custom concept vehicle, and then put it through its paces on the exhilarating hills and switchbacks of the Test Track circuit. In the post-show, guests can make a TV commercial featuring their concept car or truck, race their car or truck on our virtual track and take a picture with their custom concept vehicle.

The attraction is currently scheduled to reopen late fall.

What do you think?

If it is Tron-themed it will be Robb's favorite ride.

So, with the new Chevy sponsorship, does that mean you will just have to own one of their cars to get in the VIP lounge now?

I guess there wont be many people going into the lounge if that is the case. :lmao: :p

I've never been on this ride, in all these years; the damned thing was closed for one reason or another every time I've been to EPCOT.

But I'm all over these renderings like stink on a monkey. Officially a Tron attraction or not, LOVE IT!

I like that the new icons look like the Pokemon symbols for type.

I love the look of the concept art though! Glad I got to ride it once before the overhaul but I found that while the ride itself was a ton of fun and really inventive, the scenery lacked depth/scale, and the way this concept art looks it seems like those issues are being resolved!

So far so good.

I love it! I have always enjoyed this ride and I am glad they are keeping it around a little longer.

I'm really impressed how decent this looks given the huge sponsorship behind it. It seems far less branded that I was imagining.

Hopefully the interactive stuff isn't as gimmicky as it comes across.
