Does this look like a train full of happy riders? It most certainly is!

Today was XLR8R's opening day - June 22nd 2002!

However, last night we got a sneak peak of the ride while it was testing.

205 feet straight up, do some funky twisty stuff, then 205 feet straight back down!

Elissa tries to blend right into her new Intamin baby.

On Saturday. we got to Knott's only to find they'd put back Windjammer!  =)

After a quick ceremony announcing the auction winners who bid on the first rides for charity, we were ready to ride!

We easily found the entrance and made our way up to the station platform.

After some slight technical difficulties in the station, we were off! 0 - 82 MPH in just 2.3 seconds!

Here's what it looks like twisting into the top hat....

...up over the top we go...

...and this is what it looks like coming back down at 90 degrees!

These overbanked turns are similar to those on Millennium Force, but seem much faster!

After our first rides, Elissa tried to sample some of the cool new merchandise!

One of XLR8R's over banked turns from a cool angle!

The whole area is themed to a 1950's style auto garage.

You can certainly feel the speed as the train ducks in and out of the rides structure.

Back up the 90 degree incline!
