Groteslurf
It's been about 3 years now since I last bought Plopsa funcard for me & my kids. But with the new Plopsa park opening in the Netherlands and the included Phantasialand entry, I bought again Plopsa annual passes. Good thing is these passes remain valid for (more than) 1 calendaryear. On my funcard which I bought yesterday, the mentioned expiry date is June 23, 2011, meaning that I will be able to visit the Plopsaparks again beginning of next season with the same annual pass. Besides the free entry & parking to all 4 Plopsaparks and the free entry to Phantasialand, you get 50 % off on the regular entrance price to Moviepark Germany, and a dozen other zoo parks. And when you buy the funcards online, you get another 16 euro discount (59 euro iso the regular 75 euro). So it is quite a good deal. I intend to put all the parks we'll visit in the next year with the funcard in this same photo TR (+ some other random cool stuff) Update : that was the initial plan. I decided to keep on posting my TR's in this thread. Links to every TR can be found here below. There aren't a lot of attractions, but the park is really nice to be at. Our initial plan was to stay at Plopsacoo till early afternoon and then visit Plopsa indoor Hasselt on the way back to home in the afternoon. We stayed till late afternoon though at Plopsacoo. Plopsa indoor Hassels will be for one of the next weekends. You can buy points to pay per ride or get an unlimited whristband. With our annual pass we of course got the whristbands. Meet and greet hours Since the park obviously isn't in the park index yet, I took pictures of the ridesigns. First ride (we skipped), the carrousel. Autorijschool Oldtimers Nice central plaza with water fountains My daughter and her friend enjoyed it. Scooters Vliegende fietsen It's a weird ride, meant for parents with small children. Mega Mindy Flyer For all you not living in the Benelux, this is Mega Mindy My daughter and her friend didn't consider themselves too cool to pose with Mega Mindy. Play area Springkastelen Some weird ones. Octopus Giant octopussy ... Labyrinthe (maze) The area in which Plopsacoo is, is really nice. I would compare the atmosphere with the one in Knoebels. Very laidback. End of part 1. Part 2 coming up within short. Edited September 27, 2014 by Groteslurf
tiger01
Awesome TR! Can't wait for Part 2. A nice little park. I must say all parks in Europe are Amazing!
Groteslurf
Part II Splash It's a logflume. First lifthill The logflume is nothing special except for the fact that it's a 'terrain-flume'. It's really nice. Second and 'big' lifthill View from the lifthill on the park's only coaster. We're used to the quality of the water they use for waterrides, but some of you might be shocked : Sewer-the-ride. The mega flyer is operating in the meanwhile. But first time for Coaster. Station Lifthill Track The great thing about this coaster is that it's another 'terrain-ride'. Reriding on third row. Hi Beeja Airtimehill coming up. Wwwwwhhhhhiiiiiiiieeeeee ! It's really a great ride. Mini pedalo's Didn't ride it The atmosphere at the park is really relaxed because of the awesome surroundings. My daughters (= short for my daughter and friend) rerode the logflume. And I joined them the ride after. It was a hot day, so the ride was really refreshing ..... NOT !! I immediately went to the restrooms to wash my hands and face immediately after riding Splash. Time to go back to the other side of the park. Karting Plopsa merchandise. The world famous Coo cascade. It's the Belgian version of the Niagara Falls. Plopsa character. Wildpark The Wildpark is a trainride through the forest. Didn't ride it this time. Time to get the picnic out of the car. On our way to the parking, we notice the publicity for their other parks. We always have lunch on top of the hill. And we're going up that hill in style : Zetellift. Every spot outside of the park (where you don't have to pay) is taken... ... by cars from the Netherlands ??? (it's a joke my dear Dutch friends ) I made some new friends while up in the air. We arrived safely at our picnic spot. Not that I dislike the rest of the park, but for sure this is my favorite spot in the park. Great views Going down again. Great views again. Overview of the park. Next attraction we are going to ride is on that hill. Almost there. Bobslee 2 long bobsled rides. But first we have to go up that hill. You're towed backwards to the top. Mmmmhhhh ... wonder what would happen if the towing thingie disconnects from me all of a sudden..... My daughter arriving at the top. And we're off. As you can see it's another 'terrain-ride'. My daughters were ovviously braking a little bit more than me. Same on the next ride. Mini-golf (picture : see a little bit further) Doorloopweide Konijntjes I liked the carrot-pottery. Part III to follow. Edited June 7, 2010 by Groteslurf
Groteslurf
Part III. This water in any case looks cleaner. One ride to go : Mega Mindy Flyer. Mini-golf Central plaza Karting track "What are you going to eat tonight ?" I believe I can fly. "Let's eat fish !" Ok, let's catch some. I really enjoy places like this at themeparks. Thanks for reading this TR. Hope you enjoyed.
sspaz1000
Great trip report Thanks for sharing! That park looks really lovely, and yes it does remind me of Knoebels. Nicole
Flexo83
The park really does look like it has a certain Knoebels vibe to you, which of course is a good thing! Great pics!
Dailey Enterprizes
They probably pump the water out of the creek or lake for Splash. Parks in the U.S. used to do that quite a bit.

RoCo
Definitely one of the prettier parks I've ever seen; really nice. Yet another park to put on the Wish List... but sheesh, those Starflyers just freak me right the hell out.

Beeja
Hi Benny! Great TR with some beautiful pics. I love the one from the Mega Mindy Flyer with the sun behind it! I'm really happy with this TR because I was still considering buying that Fun Card. Now that I've seen this park, I'm convinced! The park looks great and I love how they built some rides right in the middle of the woods. How were the crowds and queues? Thanks for sharing and see you soon! YAY! Groteslurf
Thanks for the comments everybody. Although the rides are no way like the rides at Knoebels, it reminded me a lot of the vibe I felt when visiting Knoebels. They probably pump the water out of the creek or lake for Splash. Parks in the U.S. used to do that quite a bit. Yes they do and it's common use out here in the parks. But I really prefer water which you can look through on the waterrides Great report maybe it's time for a visit... And yes the dutch are cheap!! ----Hans We can have a new TPR Benelux meeting over there one of these months. Maybe combined with the Nurburgring when Ringracer would be open by then. To be honest, there were a lot of belgian plates aswell outside of the park, and only noticed when looking at the pics afterwards, the 2 cars in the one pic were dutch Definitely one of the prettier parks I've ever seen; really nice. Yet another park to put on the Wish List... but sheesh, those Starflyers just freak me right the hell out. First time I rode a Starflyer, it freaked me out too. But it really isn't a big deal. Ok, it's high, but I really enjoy the overviews you get of the park and surroundings while you're up in the air now. WOW!! Benny, Great looking park!! It looks like so much fun and relaxing as well. Thanks for sharing your photos! I was thinking about you today, because I just opened my Jelly Belly bag of Belly Flops!! OMG!! The best sugar rush Evar!! Still fresh in the bag! Mmmmm..... Miss you friend... Hi Hans Miss you too Roxy. Although some of the Jelly Belly's flavour are really awfull, the Belly flops are really awesome. I too still have 1 bag left. YAY! Hi Beeja The funcard is really a good deal. With our visit to Plopsa Coo, the parking over there and the free entrance to Phantasialand, I would already have spend more than I paid for the Funcard. Everytime I've been in Plopsa Coo, the crowds were very light. Get there at opening time and you'll have no queues till lunch. In the afternoon, you may encounter waiting times of 5 to 10 minutes max for some rides. Only for the Karts, the line was 20 to 30 minutes in the afternoon. See you soon

Groteslurf
I first wanted to put only Plopsafuncard related reports in this thread, but I decided to include other stuff too. Today I went to see the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) races in Zolder, Belgium. Not that this is something I would ever spend money on to see this, but since I got free tickets from my cardealer, we decided to go. And you all like fast, so why not share that here ? Hope you like it. Next report will be a themepark again, I promise First racecars we saw after we arrived : Seat team And BMW. Race drivers obviously don't know how to park their cars. Maserati But these are my favorites : BMW M3 Love the paintjob. In the meanwhile F2 races were on. Very noisy things. Thank you ! Michael Rossi : sorry, never heared before of Mr Rossi, so can't give any comments except for that it looks like a nice car. Problem ? More F2 Overview But time for something else : a Seat car In the Seat race .... Seat race winner I see/the sea.... My borther-in-law with some random car. First WTCC race of the day. More overview. More Maserati Next was another F2 race. This guy didn't get to choose the color of his car himself I guess. Eat my dust ! F2 car. And another one. 2nd WTCC race. It was an enjoyable day, but I don't think I will ever go to something like this again. One for the road. hansrubens
So you don't really like car races Benny? I love to go to these events, the noisier the better. Maybe I'll go to a F1 race next year. Did you had all access passes? I alway want to enter the pit area but never got the chance. Did Tom Coronel really won? Thanks for the report very exciting!! --Hans

Did you had all access passes? I alway want to enter the pit area but never got the chance. Did Tom Coronel really won? Thanks for the report very exciting!! --Hans Yes, I'm not really into car races, in fact I'm hardly interested in any kind of sports But as said, I was a nice day, so I had a good time. I could have guessed you would know the winner of that race. I'm already proud I remember his name Yes he did won that race. But I was told that also his brother is a racer, so I'm not sure whether Tom or his brother won. We didn't have all access passes, but managed to get in in the VIP area of BMW and Seat uninvited for some champagne But, a few years ago I had access to the pit area at another event. We even drove along with a Porsche on the circuit that day. When I have time, I'll look up the pictures and video I shot while driving along. Groteslurf
Okay I'm breaking my promise. I have a cool stuff update for you all in stead of a Plopsa update. Last Wednesday, I read in the newspaper that Ed Kowalczyk, the former leadsinger of the band Live, was giving a concert very nearby to promote his new cd. It was sponsored and on invitation only but I managed to get to invitations for the concert still on Wednesday. I didn't know what to expect from the concert but also I had no idea at all how many people would be there, how the location would be, etc, I only new Ed Kowalczyk was giving a concert and that it would be in open air. I expected a lot of people so didn't bother to take my camera with me. So I was very surprised when we arrived, to see only about 150 to 200 people at the place. It was at the border of the river Schelde, the weather was great, Ed was also bringing Live songs, Desperados beer, ... Damn I really should have brought my camera with me. Now all I have are some crappy pics I took with my old, crappy mobile phone. But hey, crappy pictures are better than no pictures I guess Casa Blanca summer bar We arrived a few minutes after the concert started and couldn't believe how close we could get to the stage. Amazing surroundings After the concert, Ed took his time to pose for pictures and sign cd's and posters I think he like the place too because he really spent more than 30 minutes for pictures. Beeja
Great reports, Benny! I really don't mind the random stuff and cool cars are great fun! Plopsa Indoor looks like fun, it's a shame that I haven't visited it yet! Maybe I should that Fun Card after all... But it looks like your daughters are getting a little too old for Plopsa Indoor, your oldest hardly fits in that electric car Anyway, thanks for sharing and see you on Sunday! Btw, Hans: we should visit a F1 race together, I love F1! Oh, and I visited the pits at Zolder already... And I drove a Formula Ford car all by myself once See you too on Sunday! Groteslurf
^Thanks Beeja. Yes, my oldest daughter is getting too old for Plopsa Indoor. Normally, if there would have been a ride-op, she wouldn't be allowed to ride the electrical cars. She also wasn't allowed on the bumpercars for the first time. But since the park is included in our funcards, and as it was too hot to be outside, and indoorpark is an excellent place to be at.
