Lightwater Valley      Flamingoland      Pleasure Island      Fantasy Island      Bottons      Thorpe Park

Now, we all knew what had happened to Pleasureland over the years. To bring you up to speed - Blackpool closed the old Pleasureland park, demolished the wooden coaster, and moved the SLC to Blackpool. Since then, the park has re-opened kind of as a place for amusement operators to either store or operate their amusement rides while they are not on circuit at a traveling fair. While we all understand the park isn't what it once was, it's nice to see amusement rides still operating at a location that could just have closed up forever. There are a few permanent rides on the location, like the Wildcat coaster, but many other rides may change throughout the season. While the park was technically closed to the public during our visit, the group was kind enough to agree to opening up a few of their rides for our tour.

The Wildcat at the New Pleasureland Southport will be credit #6 for us today!

Ok credit whores! Are you ready to ride?

Why do I even need to ask? =)

The park has opened up the Wildcat just for TPR!

TPR take over of the ski jump!

Hands up credit whores!!!

It took a little while to get it going...but it was a fun ride!

We see you shirtless guy! =)

OMG! Now this thing has really gotten going good!

KidTums gets the kiddie plane credit!

The credit whores + shirtless guy take over the Trabant!

Ryan! Stop it!!! You're blocking out shirtless guy!!!!

The kiddies had some fun on the trampolines while the adults played!

"Hey! I know Elissa and KidTums...but who's the shirtless guy?" :)

They have really done a nice job of getting amusement rides back to Southport...

...And they are even working on adding a Ghost Train inside the old Fun House building.

Like I said, we all understand that some of Southport's history was ripped down, we highly recommend showing these guys some support and visiting the park. If it wasn't for them this would all be an empty lot.
