Idlewild is one of the quirkiest parks in the US. It is also one of the more naturally beautiful ones. There is a large Story Book Land where kids can enjoy buildings from their favorite children's stories. Combine this with a train ride through Mr. Rogers Neighborhood and even the most curmudgeonly adult will feel like a kid again.
Their are plenty of old-school attractions mixed in with some new rides. The park's two roller coasters are unique and enjoyable. Most rides have liberal height requirements when children are accompanied by an adult.
The park is set in the woods allowing plenty of natural shade, although it can get muggy on humid days.
