Kentucky kingdom is just a pass all around. Everything in the park just felt like a smaller version of existing rides at other parks, and not a huge selection. The only positive thing was getting in the park when it opened and being able to ride every ride twice within 2 and half hours. Admission was decently priced in comparison to other six flags parks and cedar point but probably $10 more then it should be for what Kentucky kingdom has to offer. Very very disappointing
Six Flags Kentucky kingdom didn't have the best coaster lineup, nor was it the cleanest, or friendliest, but it was certainly a local favorite. The waterpark, Typhoon Lagoon was decent with an awesome water coaster, Deluge. Greezed Lightning was a classic Schwarzkopf shuttle, and T2 was the first Vekoma SLC ever built. Thunder Run was a solid wooden coaster that when running well was loaded with great air time. The park is currenty closed however a few of it's old coaster have relocated to other parks. Chang, a B&M Standup now operates at Great Adventure as The green Lantern, Road Runer Express now operates at Six Flags new England.
SFKK wasn't the best park and had fallen into disrepair in its later years. The park just had a feeling of being there. The highlight for me was Chang and the Himalaya. T2 was a headbanger and not very enjoyable. Greased Lightnin' of course was a good ride, but other than that a trip on the breakdance and one was ready to go home. There just wasn't much there in its final days to keep you coming back.
Poor Kentucky Kingdom...I think of all the Six Flags Parks I've ever visited, SFKK did the most with the least. It had a solid collection of rides (Good B&M Stand-up, Schwarz shuttle loop, Intamin Giant Drop, underrated woodie), but I was blown away with the friendliness of the staff and the clientele at this park. It's a shame to see a solid park go down the drain like this one did.
