Farup Sommerland has grown up from its origin as primarily a family park. Farup has added to its core of picnic areas, play areas (including an obstacle course), and family rides with the completion of two major coasters (Lynet and Falken) since 2004.
Like other parks in this area of Europe, the park offers activities and attractions that are not commonplace throughout the world, such as a shooting gallery, obstacle course and speed boats.
The park offers plenty of shaded areas and a lot of greenery. There are enough ride experiences that families can share together, but older teens and thrill seekers might not find the overall park as exciting. The food selections are above average.
With its woodland setting and old-fashioned, rustic look, Farup Sommerland reminds me of a summer camp--only with rides. How many amusement parks let you pilot speed boats (at no extra charge) and negotiate an obstacle course over leech-filled water? The park's two big coasters, Lynet and Falken, are very good, but the park falls short when it comes to flat rides (good water rides, though).
Pros
Very family oriented park with tons of rides and attractions for everyone to enjoy together.
Tons of shade and places to just relax and have fun.
Cons
Older thrillseekers may find themselves bored after the two major coasters.
