Cosmoworld is best visited at night—Yokohama is quite spectacular when it’s all lit up. The park’s arcade offers an eccentric collection of video games (anyone for digital armadillo racing?) and two dark rides, and there’s a fairly extensive outdoor “carnival” to go with the park’s two coasters and log ride. Be prepared for sensory overload, huge crowds of teenagers in the evening (it’s a popular “date park”), and fairly slow operations here. Public displays of affection are frowned on in Japan, so the gondolas of Cosmoworld’s giant Ferris Wheel are popular with couples seeking a bit of privacy.
