Much to our disappointment, Superman was closed the day we visited.
Colossus'
massive, intimidating white structure is the first thing you see
when arriving at SFMM's parking lot.
Before and after - the controversial hump & mid
course brakes. In the late 80's, the bunny hop on the left was
removed and flattened to add the mid course brakes seen on the
right.
A nice view of Colossus and Flashback from the lift hill of Viper
The train of Viper just about to the top of the lift hill
of this intense multi looper!
One of the very twisted turns of Flashback!
There they are! Those EVIL shoulder restraints on Revolution!
When the ride opened in 1976, the only restraint was a single lap
bar.
Superman: The Escape from ground view.
Another view of Superman's 400 ft tower!
Gold Rusher, a very good mine train!
Flashback! SFMM's unique twisted steel Coaster!
Psyclone, based on Coney Island's famous coaster!
Now for a bit of Six Flags Magic Mountain history!
The last remaining troll in the park from the old
days can be found at the exit to the Sandblasters bumper cars!
Shock Wave at SFMM! The west coasts first stand-up
Roller Coaster was dismantled in 1988.
It was located where Psyclone is now!
Shock Wave spent a few years at Six Flags Great
Adventure in New Jersey,
when was moved to its permanent home at Six Flags Astroworld.
The ride is now well themed as Batman:The Escape!
Z-Force, the Looping Starship was removed to make
room for Batman: The Ride.
Freefall's original colors were orange and tan!
