Hey everyone! We have made a detour at Great Coasters! We can't show you anything from inside this building because they are hard at work on TOP SECRET new coasters and we swore we wouldn't talk about anything we saw. But here we are! =)

And while we were on the subject of "behind the scenes" we got to take a really up close look at Knoebel's latest addition, the Flying Turns!

The designers and builders explained to us that Flying Turns will be a long development project for the park because they are resurrecting a classic for which there is very little documentation about. And developing a classic ride like this for today's riders will take a lot of trial and error. When it opens, I'm sure it will be awesome!

The following pictures will excite the most nerdy of coaster enthusiasts...so get ready to geek out! Yes! Skid brakes!!!

Flying Turns is a "bobsled type" of coaster where the track is much more like something you'd see in the winter Olympics than a traditional roller coaster!

Today the role of the Flying Turns will be played by random TPR members.

"That's right, we're just hanging out inside the Flying Turns!"

Knoebel's gave us a full tour of the ride and let us walk the entire length of the track! Thank you!!!

"I'm CRAAAAAZY Alabama Flying Turns boy...give me some candy!"

Now would be a good time to send a train down!

NERD SHOT!!!

This just looks really cool!

Those lines mean something.

This gives you an idea of how tight the ride is. It had to fit it a very small space.

OMG! Underneath shots!!!

TPR members just wandering around...

NERD SHOT!

LIFT HILL NERD SHOT!

Once again, just looks so cool.

When will the ride open? We don't know...but we'll be back when it does open!
