Yes, we are all allowed to be nerds while they launched the trains.

It's funny how 456 feet doesn't look quite as tall when you're standing right under it.

Some of the electrical and water pumps that are needed to cool down the launch track.

456 feet might not look tall from here, but 127MPH sure seemed FAST!

This is not an angle you can get normally from normal guest areas.

"Welcome back Kingda Ka riders...how was your ride?"

Shhhh...don't tell anyone!

This MASSIVE contraption is the hydraulic motor that launches Kingda Ka. Similar to other Intamin hydraulic motors, but this one has TWO, one on each side, to build up the speed it takes to launch Kingda Ka.

See that cable in the middle....when the motors build up enough energy, they "drop the clutch" so-to-speak and the cable is what pulls the train 127MPH!

Here is the "brains" of Kingda Ka - the electrical and control room.
