So being a Texan, Schlitterbahn is about 3 hours away. It is woody so it is a shady park (for the most part). The best ride there are their water coasters. They had the original uphill water coasters. Master Blaster is their best attraction by far. The addition of other body slides and tube rides is great! They have a good selection of rivers (Yes, more than one). GREAT water park:)
The uniqueness of many of Schlitterbahn's attractions is a plus, the strangeness of Schlitterbahn itself is a minus. I've never been to this waterpark when it didn't have hour-plus lines for all the major slides; many of the queues are rigged up with string and metal pipe like some weird uncle made them. You have to ride a bus between the two areas of the park. The old area has water pumped in from the river (cool!); the new area has cutting edge technology. The Torrent Wave River is amazing!
