Playland is the home to one awesome wooden coaster and a lot of flat rides that give you the feel of being at a fair. Many of the flat rides are thrilling, and they run them for long cycles.
The park does look a little rundown, and there is definitely a set of rides for younger kids and a set of intense rides for older kids/adults, but not much for the whole family to do together. The food options were also pretty basic, and shade is at a premium as the surface is pure asphalt.
As a caveat, if you attend during the PNE (Canada's Largest Fair) in late August-early September plan for more time at the park. Crowds will be heavier, prices will be higher, but additional flat rides are brought in. Many of these rides are extreme, but they also bring in some family-friendly rides. Also, there will be traditional fair entertainment and a midway full of intoxicating food vendors. | |
