In
1998, Hersheypark opened up an Inverted coaster, the Great Bear. The only
inverted coaster in PA!
You can
certainly smell the chocolate from the factory on most days which makes the
Great Bear the sweetest smelling inverted coaster!
Hersheypark shoehorned Great Bear next to and around
SooperDooperLooper, one of the first big coaster in the park and one of the
first coasters to feature a verical loop.
The
Great Bear has many different inversions including this diving
loop.
Hersheypark also has quite an arsenal of wooden coasters. The Comet, built
in 1946 is still an excellent ride!
In 1996, Hersheypark opened the Wildcat which is now one of the countries top
wooden roller coasters.
Designed after many coaster od the golden age, Wildcat's design incorporated
many tight twists and turns.
Wildcat features many different traditional elements and it offers a much
smoother ride than most wooden coasters.
