Power Park is one of the more isolated theme parks. Luckily this family-owned park is worth the travel time. Anchored by a GCI woodie, the park boasts both a few intense flat rides, along with an adequate amount of rides that younger family members can enjoy with their parents.
If you are into elaborate theming look elsewhere because certain parts of this park have a permanent-carnival look to them, only with exceptional service and operations.
A well-done and unique shooting dark ride (with a limited number of shots) provides a change of pace, but the highlight of the park is the Mika Salo Formula 1 track that is far superior to any go kart track found anywhere else.
This rather isolated park is a pleasant surprise, especially if you're a go kart fan. But Power Park has more to offer than just that. Thunderhead is an excellent GCI woodie. There's an extensive selection of flat rides and a very good shooting dark ride (which gives riders a limited amount of ammo--so shoot wisely). To top it off, Cobra, the park's Vekoma Boomerang, may be the best of its kind (it's actually fun). Power Park also offers an excellent hotel and reataurant, along with horseback-riding trails in a beautiful setting. It is worth the trip.
Pros
Nice park with friendly staff.
Onsite hotel.
Upcharge 50mph gokarts on a real track are awesome.
