Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park is not really an amusement/theme park, but it is more fun than many of them. The park started as a cave tour, and now features two separate 45 minute tours of different parts of the cave system too. If you're more of a ride person, you'll find some unique rides up here including: Cliffhanger, the world's highest roller coaster; the Alpine Coaster, a 1/2 mile toboggan ride down the side of the mountain; and the Giant Canyon Swing, a S&S Screamin' Swing right on the edge of a 1,300 ft. cliff that will scare even the most seasoned thrill-seekers (it scared me more than any coaster). If you're in the area, definitely budget some time for this park (~4 hours recommended), and I'm sure you won't regret it.
My family and I visited the park in late May, 2013. This was our first visit to this park. We had an amazing experience as a family. They have a great coaster and plenty of smaller rides for the kids. My children are 4 and 6 and they had a blast. By far the best "ride" is the Alpine Slide. It is worth the money to get an all day pass to ride this attraction. My 4 yr old son went on this (with an adult) at least 15 times. You control your speed and how exciting you want this ride to be. There is an option to go with no brakes at all and get a ride that has far beat any coaster I have been on. Overall a great experience for all and we would go back any time we are in the area.
