Cedar Point Expedition TR: May 13/14, 2007

Postby CoasterExpert13 » Mon May 14, 2007 8:10 pm

Hello folks! Well, I just got back home from my 2-day CP expedition and I had a blast!! Every coaster (except maverick of course) was up and running wonderful with only two minor set backs: (#1:) Mid-day on Sunday the 13th, me and my friend jeff were the next in line to ride Magnum.....just as we were about to get on, a train of riders got stuck on the top of the lift with the first car hanging over the first drop. This delay only took 5-7mins to fix and we were soon taking a spin on magnum. (#2:) Now all day Sunday the 13th, TTD was up and running beautifully...no problems what-so-ever...but we decided to ride it the next day as the lines for MF were just to short to pass up....Today the 14th, when we got to CP in the morning, we ran to TTD and watched as the 2nd lauched train of riders rolled back after reaching the top....after 20 years of waiting for the car to roll back into position (really only 7-8mins) the train then launched again and barely made it over. The same thing happened to the next train full of riders.....another 7-8min wait....re-lauched and just barely made it over...thankfully, it was out turn to ride and our train made it over the top of TTD like all the others, just barely making it over....but the ride was a blast...I forgot how fun it was since the last time I rode it in 2004.

Anyhow, the weather was pretty good both days, it didn't rain at all! I left the park $78 richer as I found an envelope of money while getting on MF for my last ride of the day.....but I lost my sun glasses & and hat on the overbank turn...they fell from under my shirt....and I though I had my shirt tucked under the lap-bar lol...

All in all, I had a blast at Cedar Point! Clean park. Great rides. Nice Staff. what more could I want...except cheaper food prices and a ride on Maverick...ah, oh well...i'll be heading back July 13th....my 21st b-day!

Well, Thanks for reading and on to the pictures...let me know what ya think, ENJOY!
Day 1: MAay 13th.....I-80/I-90 West....are we getting closer?
Nope, just more grass.....
Ah...there you are!! CP in all of it's glory!!
Hum...there's barely anywhere to park...
Entrance...I tripped just after taking this picture and someone next to me, caught my camera from smashing into pieces...
First Stop: Millennium Force...hell everybody else was hauling a** to the ride...so we did too!
Shot of MF's finale...
Hummm...I would have thought MF's lines would be full....
The little bridge walkway leading into MF's station was the only line for MF all day surprisingly...the park wasen't crowded!
End result of a front seat MF ride!! (Me, left and my friend Jeff, right)
Shot of MF while I was walking to Mantis!
One of my favorite pics I took! Shot of MF while walking around TTD!

Shot of Mantis lift/loop while waiting for front seat..(as I put my things in the items box...some dork stole my seat)
Me taking the time to pose with mantis! (I would later lose my sun glasses & hat on MF)
It seems that Mantis & MF are just all over the place!!
Mantis, MF & Power Tower....
My favorite picture that i've taken (getting it blown up and framed) Mantis & TTD from MF's queve line!
TTD through the trees!
Sky Hawk & TTD standing tall!
Watching one of TTD's trains getting ready to launch!
The train cresting the top of TTD...
My Friend Jeff, calling his mom to brag about finally riding Millennium Force & TTD, as he chickened out on the 1st Day!
Power Tower...I don't care for free-fall rides much...
*TPR EXCLUSIVE* Between the legs shot part 2!! TTD seen between the legs of Power Tower!
Raptor, always a pleasent ride! Until you loose your change lol
More Vertical Loop Goodness!!

A train navigating the second corkscrew...
Second half of Raptor's layout...
Mean Streak...fun ride but the brakes on the first drop killed the ride for me...
Corkie & Iron Dragon...bit gloomy on today while in the park but it never rained...
I can't rememebr the name of this ride...lol
Mantis's turn-around over the station...taken while in the queve line...
Another shot of Raptor's second half....

Wow! Awesome pics! Cedar Point is an awesome place, especially when there are minimal lines! How was Millennium Force?

Thanks for the TR. Those were some great pictures. That water ride is called Snake River Falls, btw. I never got around to riding it when I went to CP in 2002, but I figured since we had Perilous Plunge over here, I could pass it up. :)

Great pictures. How in the world did that chick get stuck in the Maverick test seat? Some people never cease to amaze me.

I'll be at CP on Friday and Saturday of this week. Thanks for the pictures to get me excited all over again!

Cool TR!
