Well, we've spent our Christmas traveling! How typical of us!
We are now settled in our hotel in Fukuoka Japan. Let me tell you all how the last 24 hours have been and you'll know why this TR is short!
Basically, we got on our plane at Hong Kong last night at 12:40am to Seoul. We had a 4 hour layover there and then we arrived at Narita around 11:30. Got our Japan Rail Passes processed, made a quick stop at Galaxy Express 999 then got on part 1 of our bullet train to Fukoka, which stopped in Osaka where we had a 1 hour layover until our next bullet train, and now we have finally arrived in our hotel and it's 11:45PM!
Wow, what a day! At least we got a credit!
I'll post our "insane travel day to Japan" tomorrow....but for now, onto part 2 of the Hong Kong Disneyland Photos.....
Everyone LOVES photos of Disney parks at night so let's start with those first!
Here you can see Mickey gets the worlds largest enima 24 hours a day! He sure is one clean mouse! =)
Even all lit up, it's so small and cute!
Disneyland CA or HK? You decide!
HA! Fooled you! This is HKDL! But I thought you all knew that already?
Adventureland at night. Torches with fire. Where's Jeff Probst when you need him?
While the entrance of Tomorrowland looks "ok" at night, it still needs some more "stuff"
Space Mountain is the "Mr. Bad A$$" ride of the park!
Slow shutter speeds and snow falling looks like the park is infested by strange gargantuan insects!
Looks like Eisner has left his mark on this park too!
Yup, the backside of the castle is just as small as the front!
Everyone loves nighttime Carousel photos. Not sure why, but they do! So here you go!
Philharmagic and sparkly trees. Neat huh? Makes you want one for your room doesn't it?
Gah! More torches! Jeff, you're not doing your job!!!
Time for our day two visit to the park!
Time for a little magic, Hong Kong style!
I always knew in Asia things were 'littler' but this is rediculous! =)
Winnie the Pooh - No the orgasmic TDL version, but not the laughable DL version either!
Quaker really wants to know where Pooh's "Enchanted Place" really is!
Yay! Donkeys! This ride just scored tons of points!
For those of you living inside a cave, this is called Dumbo. You ride in elephants (not real ones) and you go round in circles. And yes, elephants really DO fly. And since you live in a cave, you really can't prove me wrong now can you?
It wouldn't be a trip to Asia without doing the "signature move." And the fact that we have 3D glasses on just makes it that much more pathetic!
Yay! White dudes!
From this angle Tomorrowland looks really lonely!
We must have ridden Space Mountain about 15 times during our trip. We love single rider lines!
Here is the obligatory "coaster photo" of the update. You're not going to get another one, so stare LONG and HARD at this one!
This is the road to nowhere, or what we assume will be "Future expansion land!"
This is a VERY different look for the park. Personally, I really like it a lot!
"It's not the giant buddah, but it will do!"
They have the tiki room, they just haven't built the room yet! =)
Hey Dan, "Is this an acceptable amount of water?"
Jungle Cruise is NOT a "Dan friendly" attraction!
Hooray for our English speaking guide!
Hippos are SCARY!!!!!
Robb in the shower.
I was thinking "You know the only way they could really make Jungle Cruise better is if they blew something up......"
"C'mon guys, look a little happier, we're on our way to Tarzan's Treehouse!"
"How excited can I really be about the Rosie O'Donnel attraction???"
"OMG! Now there are two of those hiddeous creatures!!!"
The best part of Tarzan's Treehouse....THE LOVE SWING!!!!!
Time for some authentic Chinese food at HKDL......
....and OMG Elissa is eating it too! Quick, run for cover, it's a sign of the apocolypse!!!
The "ChocoBanana" flavor tops all the popcorn we saw at Tokyo Disneyland last year!
"Two great tastes that tatse great together....."
If the future of driving is Robb in a car that's two sizes too small for him, I'm chasing in my Toyota and getting a horse! (why am I talking about myself in the 3rd person.) (Why am I still awake?) (Who invented liquid soap...and WHY???)
It's Buzz Lightyear. But most of you know him as Hector Lopez, designer of the galatic Taco Bell.
Prepare for random stupidity involving plastic guns and bright lights!
It's the "Gigant-o-bot." Some one with less imagination than these captions!
The day ended right here...at least for Elissa. A threesome with two rodents dressed as chinese restaurant staff. Elissa melted on the spot!
We haven't had an "OMG would you just LOOK at that castle....LMAO" photo in a while now. So here's one!
Here's the "snack size" version of the castle. (Note: the snack size and the FULL size are actually the same size!) (Note #2: Please disregard the chest hair. It's just for show and will be weed wacked in 20 minutes time!)
"Elissa and the Quaker sitting in a tree....." .......What....WTF are you talking about. They aren't in a tree at all!!! That was the love swing about 20 photos back! Who the hell is writing these stupid captions anyway?!?! Moron!!!!
Elissa's all "Meh....mine's bigger!"
Is it just me or does even this lifeless statue look annoyed with Robb?
Time to head out for a bit and check out Hong Kong!
Good thing there's an MTR station right outside the park!
"Sunny Bay Station" change here for Disneyland line.....
The trains were a *little* more crowded than yesterday!
We headed to the New World Centre where we could show the Quaker what a modern day building looks like.
Quaker, these are buildings. People live in them. They don't churn butter. They have machines to do that for them. Get with the program, dude!
What you see in this photo - lots of buildings....NO BUTTER!!!!
More buildings and....oh crap...there actually IS butter on the right hand side!
"Hello, I am the butter churning Quaker. I have been introduced to buildings."
Elissa says "mine's bigger!" =)
"We need to get back to Disneyland...which train do we take? Hmmm....."
Time to get back on the bus, and time to head onto Japan!
"Hey, Jackie Chan!"
We had a really awesome time at Hong Kong Disneyland. It's a great park....seriously! All the "rumors" you've heard aren't true! When this park gets a few more attractions, it will REALLY be awesome. Ok, next update will be day one in Japan!
Ah...nothing like spending the holidays with a bunch of Asians and their cloaking devices eh? Although, for some reason, I actually see people in these photos aside from you guys and park workers. Maybe the cloaks went out of fashion this year? Also, is it just me or does HKDL look a bit lonely? The rides are few and scattered. There isnt even a BTM Oh well, hope you guys are having fun!
Jared"who didnt go to an amusement park in Florida for break this year"Becker
Proud Coney Island Ride-op for 6 years! Kings Island MSD/Racer crew of 2011 Kings Island Vortex/Windseeker crew of 2012-2013 Best Coaster Ever: Phoenix Top Steel: Intimidator 305 (Maverick in CLOSE 2nd)
OMG, what a great update of HKDL! This place looks really nice and with a few more attractions it must be perfect! I hope ther will be a time in the futre where I can visit this Park! Anyway, I glad you made it save to Japan! I lso hope to see some more great pictures, soon!
The fire effects were really cool! Are there no effects at DLR or WDW? At the moment I can´t rememer that! :?
