Photo TR: Robb, Elissa, and Derek in Vegas!

Postby robbalvey » Thu Nov 24, 2005 12:12 am

Hey everyone!

So once again we are in Vegas for Thanksgiving weekend. A tradition that started last year when we realized how EMPTY Vegas was during this time of year. I guess Vegas isn't really the "family destination" for the holiday. Well that works out GREAT for us!

This was also Derek's first ever trip to Vegas so we had to get in all the credits, and over the next few days, show him around the place.

We'll have daily updates so chkeep checking back. Make sure you see ALL the updates below:

Our drive out to Vegas wasn't too bad. But here you can see that not many people are going to Los Angeles! Smart people! =)
The Scandia in Victorville now has what appears to be a Kantanga! I wonder if this is the REAL Katanga from Florida. According to the sign they also have a credit, which turned out is a LIE!!!!
Here is Lake Delores Water Park just outside of Barstow which has been closed for at least three years now. It's the middle of FREAKING NOWHERE!!! This was NOT a good place to build this. I do wonder why none of the slides have been moved to another pa
Zzyzx road. Cool, huh? =)
We finally make it to our hotel. This is an "Elissa Friendly" place with a McDonald's and a Sabarro!
At dinner, Derek has a beer, Robb has Balsamic Vinegar!
But after dinner, it's time for the micro brewery and it's beer for us all!
This morning we got up early to head down and meet John at the Stratosphere.
Here are the 'old school' Stratosphere ride. They might be older, but you still need balls of steel to ride them!
This is what a coaster looks like a thousand feet off the ground!
Big Shot is still the king of S&S towers. Just what you need is MASSIVE airtime on the top of a freaking tower!!!
The view from Big Shot was pretty cool, except for the smog.
And now the start of the Elissa "there is no freaking way you are getting me on these crazy rides" part of the day.
Holy crap....YES X-Scream DOES go right off the side of the tower! Change of underwear #1!
"Hey, Insanity doesn't look THAT bad!"
Derek: "What the hell have I done?"
Robb: "Umm....I don't see anything but ants!"
"Check out Derek's sweaty hands!!!"
If you want to know what powers the Stratosphere elevators...that's right! It's Otis Spunkmeyer cookies!!!

X-Scream and Insanity are two rides I would probably NEVER ride. That's just a bit too much for me.

And now begins the "Credit Whoring" part of the day!
"I gotta have kiddie coasters!"
"Hi, I'm Derek, and I am a whore!"
"Cha-ching...let's get the hell outta here!"
Next whorish spot..."Peter Piper Pizza"
"I'm feeling especially dirty today!"
"Help! I'm being attacked by the giant inflatable snowman!"
Next up...Grand Slam Canyon...or Adventuredone...or whatever they are calling this place these days...
Good thing for Arrow loopers!
Konami Korner is still here!
Pengiun is going to be SOOOO jealous!
The only thing missing here is a "toe"
FOUND IT!!!! =)
"Speed or the Buffet?"
"The buffet is probably cheaper."
"OMG! It IS!!!!"
I do NOT miss the Premiere over the shoulder restraints!
vegas29.jpg is a roller coaster. We rode this. We didn't die, throw up, get hit by a bird, mauled by a bear, or have toothpaste spread on our butt cheecks.
Vegas is home of "Side Boob Hour!"
Just in case you missed it...we're in Las Vegas.
"Hey, When did Vegas get Men In Black?!"
Elissa is in awe of the Paul Frank store, and in just in case you are wondering, YES, she bought more hamster stuff!
More "Side Boob!"
Time for a quick stop at the Wynn.
"Fat Tire" the official beer of ACE.
Yay!!! More side boob!!!!
Back at the hotel, time for some sluts...I mean slots!
"I found a slot machine made just for me!"
This dummy walks away with a $500 jackpot!!!!

Nice job! Way to go Robb on the jackpot! My hands started sweating when I saw X-Scream and Insanity. I haven't ridden Insanity, but X-Scream freaked me out pretty good the last time we were there.

Enjoy the rest of your time out there. Looking forward to more pics!

You couldn't get me up that f'in tower there, even if it meant a bonus 100 creds!!!

Elissa is a smart woman. Remember that, Robb. She knows what is right and what is c-c-c-c-crazy for her/you/you both. And probably Derek, too.

:P Derek looked pretty kool there on Insanity, even tho, the palms can give you away, lolol.

Good TR start, guys.

Awesome pics! Makes me really excited about going in March. I remember thinking how stupid it was to install X-Scream. I didn't really see the point. Was I ever wrong. Too bad my trip is going to be a little shy of my 21st. Oh well, I'll return someday.

My part two take -

What is Elissa doing with that string there at the sluts, er, slots machine, Derek in back? OMG did she rig that game??? Somehow??????

And those kid coasters, Derek? Well, I think throwing your hands up in the air was a nice touch. Showing the ability of succeeding over .... um .... height restrictions?
