I'm curious about the "family-friendly designs." More rides along the lines of Silver Dollar City's Powder Keg would be great (my favorite steel coaster of TPR's Mid-America Trip).

I like the way you are thinking. Would love to see more Powder Keg like rides out there.

Update #2 - 11:30am - Dolly Parton, S&S Installations, KMG!

Dollywood is about to announce something...

It was announced that Dollywood received the most prestigious award in the amusement park business, the Applause Award. And Dolly herself was there to accept!

Lots of S&S in China soon!!

KMG had some crazy new products to show off.

This is called "Mission Space" and is guaranteed for an "oh shit!" moment! This will be coming to the European traveling fair in 2011.

The new restraints for the Fireball flat ride are Lap Bar ONLY!!!

This is called "Mission Space" and is guaranteed for an "oh poo-poo!" moment! This will be coming to the European traveling fair in 2011.

That thing just looks like it has engineering disaster written all over it.

The height will be 80 meters, an uniquem for the fairs.

Mission Space will debut next year, it's going to be travelled by the Kroon family in the Netherlands. They've been releasing teasers for the ride without showing what it will be, this model now gives the game away. The Kroon family co-owned the original XXL Afterburner so already are known for their BIG rides.

I beleive, but stand to be corrected, that the Kroon family are actually the people behind KMG.

Update #3 - 12:40 P.M. - GCI and Rocky Mountain Coasters!

It was time to say hello to our friends at GCI and have Chris Gray tell stories about building coasters!

TPR Photos in display at GCI.

And TPR video!

The IAAPA bags of crap will come from GCI and each have been kissed by GCI's Joe Draves!

Next stop...Rocky Mountain Coasters!

We met with coaster design legend Alan Schilke of Rocky Mountain Coasters!

Here is the awesome track that will make Texas Giant amazing again!

Alan says the train wheels absolutely WILL go right in between those track splicers!

This is their Topper Track technology. Silverwood will be replacing 2,000 feet of wood coaster track with this in 2011.

Update #4 - 2:00 P.M. - Gerstlauer, WhiteWater, and Maurer Rides!

Gerstlauer will have a great year in 2011 with nine new projects!

These little lap bar only beauties will debut on Six Flags Over Georgia's Dare Devil Dive.

Holy crap!!! That IS Mega!

White Water's new Flume in Flume technology will be seen in a number of parks in 2011.

And it would appear that they have sold quite a few!

Looking forward to this on TPR's Australia 2011 trip!

The water play areas just keep getting bigger!

Maurer Rides had some very cool things to show off.

The 4-seated X-Car train.

This...looks awesome!

These might look like normal wheels....but when they spin...

...They light up the night!!!

These wheels would look amazing on Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit!
