Emiroo
I told the guy 100 times, Son of Beast! He didn't even go to the right park for heaven's sake! It's so hard to find quality mercs for hire these days...
cprocks22
So according to MSNBC Mean Streak is closed for the rest of the season? Nozzy
And so Cedar Point decides to not add flame throwers to Mean Streak...

beatle11
Wow, damn thing just won't die. Strange how they've had two fires in the last couple months. They never actually conclusively determined what happened with the first fire. They said the suspected electrical issues but now with a 2nd fire? Pingu1651
If Mean Streak burnt down I'd cry for a week. I <3 Dinn! What's with all these fires anyways? Maybe Kinzel's new plan is to set fire to rides for free newspaper publicity. It's not his dumbest plan so far.
braztaz
Yeah, Kinzel thought Mean Streak felt left out so he did the reasonable thing to do. Burn it.
KDCOASTERFAN
Yeah, Kinzel thought Mean Streak felt left out so he did the reasonable thing to do. Burn it. Kinda ranks right up there with the fire last year at SFA,sure it managed to burn down a whole building when there was some perfectly good tinder nearby(Roar) that it left completely unscathed. mightypotato
Well, can't win 'em all. I'm still pulling for the 2011 Mean Streak Bonfire and Marshmallow Roast. Come on Kinzel, make it happen.
adavis
Imagine the good rides that could go there. Sigh...
ArizonaGuy
Wow...I rode Mean Streak this summer...(in the very front of course by recommendation) and I liked it. Maybe I was stoked at the fact that I was a Cedar Point for the first time in my life and that riding it increased my coaster count by 1. I really didn't think it was that bad of a ride. I hear a lot of negative comments about Mean Streak (Brown Streak) and Son of Beast and quite honestly....I would have loved to see Texas Giant go up in flames before those two. Of course now that Texas Giant is getting the Extreme Makeover Coaster Edition.......I'm glad Texas Giant never caught fire.
saginawhxc
So can we now officially remove Mean Streak from it's own line? Please?
kf2010
Obama says the fire was Bush's fault. AHAHAHAHA! That's the funniest thing I've read in a while! Is there ANYONE who doesn't wish this ride would burn to smithereens? It's SO bad. It seems like the park only holds onto it for a coaster count. yankees15
If only it would've burned down. That we they could build something new there for 2012.
Yeti762
I've always said - the only thing that can help that ride is a match and some lighter fluid. So close.... Side note: it was really great when it first opened - I remember running around and couldn't wait to ride it again. Now I can't stand it.
chadster
I don't think the devil himself could burn that thing down. I've said before that I like the layout, and I still do (for it's time) but it's just not re-rideable without a headache.
slither37
Sing along with me... Mean Streak, Mean Streak, Mean Streak is on fire, we don't need no water.... let that crappy coaster burn.... Darn efficient firefighters....
rckrazy06
Only 5 feet? What a disappointment.
slither37
^ Yes, kind of like going to bed on a school night with snow predicted and waking up to find it only snowed 1/2 inch and school is not canceled.
SoCalCoasters
When I was there back in 06, I rode it three times in different seats and loved it...in fact for a long while it was #10 on my top 10. Has anything changed since 2006? All I've ever heard about this ride was "tear it down" or "this thing is horrible" yet I though it was decent...could just be me though... Thom25
I was at the opening of Mean Streak and hated it from day one - VERY disapointing for the world's tallest woodie at the time - so I completely agree up until THIS YEAR that the ride would just disapear. Now that the Texas Giant is starting to take shape - IF the new ride delivers, I would think CP would retro fit MS. If it doesn't - then I'm sure CF will give MS the same fate as Hercules (another complete disapointment) - so patience young grasshopper - something is bound to happen to MS sooner or later. liftsifter
I bet Magic Mountain was praying (and still is) that this heap of wood would burn to the ground.
