Garet
So as anyone who read my last trip report, I had less than great opions of Lotte World on my last visit there. However taking Elissa's advice of giving it another try on a day when its not hell on earth. So we set out to make it for opening time before the park started to fill (the koreans love the cheaper afternoon tickets). Although this day was still quite busy i'm really glad I took Elissa's advice (and to try Atlantis when the water was actually there), although the issue of making people queue outside the actual queue lines is still an issue, there seemed to be a lot more ropes to try and keep it controlled this time and you could actually locate where the queues began this time around. The queues though busy were managable and I came away with a 10x better experience than my 1st trip. The only issue that still really remains is the queue jumping. Although it happens at all the Korean parks, Lotte World seems to be the most prominent. I'd like to say its because of the no going in the queue lines policy but I don't think that is the case. The ticket operators seem to be ok with it, we had to leave the ghost house queue because after waiting almost an hour with only two koreans in front of us before the ticket lady, the two suddenly became the two plus six of their friends who'd been at the food stand and our group of 4 got roped off and told it'd now be another half hour before the next showing. I also still stand by my opinion that although gyro swing is still a great ride, the black foam insulated scream shields really do take away from the ride experience somewhat, it obscures your view with the foam and grafittied shields and they also can get quite hot Anyways on with the pictures. More Lotte World, Everland & Seoul Land to follow. Welcome to Lotte World Lotte Worlds Skyline Wakiki Wave Bigger than Disneys? Every Korean park always has a theme durring different points of the year. Lotte Worlds was the Rio Carnival I still don't know whether I can count this as a credit Maybe they'll upgrade to a Windseeker? Park Index love Note the ring of black insulation foam ringed around each koreans head, if your a tall person it can be quite uncomfortable and koreans seem to grafitti everything even scream shields I love this ride, why are there not more of them? TPR Standard: A through the trees shot The water level seems to have been lowered a bit to stop the huge splash effect of korean arms from happening
Garet
Lotte World Part 2, Everland to follow: More Index love Dropped just as I lined up my shot Love the difference between the boyfriend and girlfriends reactions Tried the back seat this time round even though my front seat ride bashed me around. Was pretty brutal Closed, oh well I rode last time I didn't know Jeff was visiting Korea AKA Tilty Teacups The angle can make these seriously spin Log Flume, it's amazing how they built a whole indoor rapid ride on the 3rd floor but the log flume pretty much got shoehorned in as a figure of 8 in the back corner 120 minute wait for this drop and another There's a lady at the top of the drop who sits and waves at you and checks your sitting down, I want her job. I got donkey faced Lotte World is quite pretty at night
Garet
Not much to say about Everland really, that place always seems to be well managed and tidy. Every staff member seems to bend over backwards for you and the ride operations is always great. Definately check out the night parade and fireworks if you visit. I really do l ove this park. Everlands theme this month is Summer Splash The trees changed since last time, its sprouted dolphins Trying to be arty The show sure did have a lot of water, I watched from afar after seeing the cannons shooting water 30ft high These were all over the park, an absolute life saver in Koreas summer humidity Absolute no change here to signify that its demise is coming Not a nail out of place since the last visit Hurricane Happy riders Park index love Water also returned to this ride now we've had rain in Korea It runs a pretty insane cycle More index love Definately better than the old ranger that used to sit here. I still don't think its the real deal though, i can't see mondial written on it anywhere, someone correct me if i'm wrong It doesn't feel like the same ride as all the other top scans that i've been on, even on their tamest the everland one feels less out of control than those. This ride really sucks Again trying to be arty Look what I see.... A Dan friendly rapids ride

Moose
That rapids ride is bizarre, why not just enclose the rafts? Thanks for the report, there are a ton of great pictures! Edited August 26, 2010 by Moose
Garet
Seoul Land: I'm really not sure what to make of this park, it cost almost the same as Everland and Lotte World yet i'm not quite sure what you get for your money, we popped in after a visit to the zoo next door and where done after two hours. I get the feeling with some area that are landscaped and themed they wan't to compete with the two big boys but then the rest of the park was just some random ridees plonked down anywhere they could. Whereas the other two parks had multi hour waits at different points due the summer holidays (the one week all kids are off at the same time) this park was completely dead... how is it surviving? I wasn't going to post the pictures since there was a storm that meant most of the rides were closed and the pictures didn't come out too well but i figured there aren't too many pictures of the park so i'd share them anyway. Welcome to the ghetto Looks pretty enough Still fooling me Main street Yay its really a disney TR No really, tommorow land, it is disney Seoul Lands number 1 attraction is the sex education center.... Park index love Snigger flying carpet, although i still feel sorry for my co-teachers who live in the apartment block called Eileen's Garden. Made for a funny English lesson though, I live in.... Bredan Fraiser speaks really good Korean when he's in 4D 5d: one of the most messed up "family" rides i will ever experience 3d: Seoul Land has all the d's here Lives up to its name Yes this ride really is haunted. TPR doesn't lie Glad to see they cleaned up the grafitti since TPR was last here. Water car or not? It only has a one car operation, how can it be different? Oh I see sprinklers come on along the ride when it's the wet car Take the tunnel! More park index love X flyer closed due to the storm Ouch, Ouch, Ouch! 1st time seeing one of these in Korea Interesting ride The map says mouse coaster but this doesn't look like a mouse.... I'm sure this car has just been ripped off the black hole 2000 ride I think I saw this thing go around once after getting the credit.
gisco
Nice Pictures. I had a lot of fun at those parks when I was there with TPR to ride T-Express. What I find interesting that after spending a full day at a couple of these parks, I see things that I missed on my visit. I guess I will just have to catch the return trip to Korea! let1gre
Cool TR. I've heard Everland is kind of the "Disney of South Korea", but with more coasters. Seoul Land looks like they stopped trying several years ago after gathering a very plain assortment of coasters. Anyways, looks like a good(?) time. Hurricane
Just letting you know, that Top Scan in the photos is indeed a Mondial unit. I've worked extensively with the one that travels around Australia and there are some things that make it stand out. The harnesses on the ride are clearly the Mondial type, along with the motor at the top of the main arm (the one that lifts the ride up from the load position) along with a few other minor things that I could pick up on. Great photos too
RoCo
Thanks for sharing the great pix; I never get tired of looking at these Korean parks (or any Asian park, for that matter). And, yeah, what the damn is up with getting another Aquatrax coaster built somewhere?! Like Magic Mountain, maybe, or something?! And those scream shields... Yikes... I can only imagine the bacterial horrors that are growing in there, what with all the sweaty, spittle-flecked screams goin' on...

Rastuso
As far as the crowds go, I think Seoul Park was built when they hosted the Olympics. So, it is probably government owned. I didn't make it there during my trip, but I knew I wasn't missing anything. A bunch of 80s vintage loopers. No thanks. -RO
c0sterfreek
I worked the wave at people and make sure they are sitting down at Loggers Run and CGA. Not a fun job at all!
