^ CP has stated many times so far that STR is not a coaster. I do not see them changing there stance on that.

So we're not robbing Big Brother over here who takes care of our city.

That is so incredibly true. Cedar Point is the only reason anyone goes to Sandusky. In fact, it's the only reason there is a Sandusky.
This is my signature. Deal with it.

^^Carousel Musuem? :p

Well actually the indoor waterparks bring in a lot of people too. They certainly don't hold the same position as CP when it comes to local decisons and influance in commerce though.

And if Cedar Point wasn't there, the indoor water parks wouldn't be either ;)

I love that park. And other then the workers at cedar point I was one of the first to know about shoot the rapids. I don't know how my aunt did it but somehow she got one of the workers to tell us all about it before it was relished.

Word actually got leaked about STR among employees at the beginning of the 2008 season. It was actually originally planned to be built in 2009 as a replacement for SRF. However, both budgetary concerns and a change in plans bumped it back to 2010 and saved SRF. Word was from maintenance staff that SRF almost didn't get past inspection for the 2008 season and that's why they were going to tear it down, but instead they overhauled it the next off season so it could stay and then redesigned STR to go "around" it. In early 2008, we didn't know the exact details of STR, but we knew at that point it was going to be a flume that went on the island.
