Marcio
Hey everyone, Last week, December 28th, Beto Carrero World (the most famous Brazilian theme park) opened the first inverted rollercoaster in Brazil! It’s called FireWhip – in honor of the park’s founder Beto Carrero, known for his cowboy whip performances. The park invited the Brazilian rollercoaster club (CBMR) for an exclusive pre-opening on the December 13 and we had a lot of fun while riding this coaster for some hours. We also enjoyed the other park rides and attractions, so here is a special photo TR for you guys from TPR. Hope you like it! ---------- Some of you may know that Brazil has continental dimensions, so the members of our club live very far away from each other. We created a main group that travelled together to the park which is located in the South of the country. The other members decided to go there by themselves. When we arrived at the bus station in Santa Catarina (state where BCW is located in), a park truck was waiting for us to take everybody to the park! Beto Carrero World has a great haunted house. Second part is coming now... =P Hi! The cable car stops next to the zoo. FireWhip and Star World Mountain – we’re gonna ride this one later. Park entrance. Look at the ferris wheel. We have an awesome view of the park from here! Let’s go to another area of the park by the cable car. And a pregnant guy! lol There’s a very funny mirror house in this island where you can see some fat boys. Yay for boob credit at Beto Carrero World! The boobs! No! Not the amazing pirate ship! Here we have something that TPR really loves! As you can see, there is a swinging ship in the Pirate’s Island. (It was closed today, because it’s getting a new theming!) Thank you! That’s what I said! Ok, let’s head to the Pirate’s Island! Baby elephant. Crazy tea cups. Bumper cars. Credit whores! Dum-Dum – The kiddie coaster of the park. One of the most beautiful river rapids in the world. It was a very hot day, so let’s refresh in the Império das Águas (Water Empire) But the sheriff is there to help us. It happens a robbery in the middle of the adventure. :S Applause! Some dinosaurs come to life. At Dinomagic, we pass by a haunted forest. Dinomagic – A railway that takes us to several “magic” places. The park also has an Intamin 1st gen. tower. Big Tower is awesome. Let’s radicalize and ride Big Tower, an Intamin drop tower that is 100 meters (328 feet) tall! You see? The park is very well themed! Now let’s ride Tigor Mountain, a Vekoma that pleases the whole family! There’s a cool drop in the water in the end. It’s similar to Disney’s "It’s a Small World"... But not that annoying! =P After this amazing time, we went to other rides and attractions in the park. This is Raskapuska. Some printscreens of when it was showed on TV. You can watch it here: http://mediacenter.clicrbs.com.br/templates/player.aspx?uf=2&contentID=44624&channel=41 And the TV channels interviewed us! So, we returned to the station and rode it again. But Big Tower is higher than us! =( Hello, Tchibum! We’re higher than you! By the way, we got some great pictures at the top of FireWhip. Everybody wanted to take some pictures there. The park let us climb up the lifthill too! Yeah, by foot! FireWhip was only running for CBMR that day! (I’m sure that the public didn’t like to watch it) We rode it until our strengths were gone. (What is not that long since we were riding a Vekoma) And again! Again! And we rode again! Weee!!! It’s time to ride. Alisson and me where the first ones to ride FireWhip in the front seats that day. We were greeted by Beto Carrero son: Alex Murad. Since Beto Carrero passed away in the beginning of last year, now he is the park president. The paint job is amazing! So, here it is! Wait for us FireWhip! (As you can see, its theming wasn’t complete for our pre-opening, but who cares? =D) But first, we have to ride it. So, here we go FireWhip! Woohoo! o/ The park called us to say that they had also invited the media (some TV channels) to interview our group and that they needed our opinions about the new Vekoma SLC. OMG! A picture of half of the group in front of the castle. Passports on hand. We got together to the other CBMR members in the entrance of the park. Thank you for the lift Beto Carrero World! Going to the park! (we see you Big Tower! =D) Yeah, we were the first ones to see it! Some say this new area will be an independent theme park in the future... This is the Aventura Selvagem (Wild Adventure) truck. It will be used in the new area of the park under construction. It’s part of a safari attraction. Marcio
Part II... Bye bye Beto Carrero World and bye bye Theme Park Review. Hope to see you all here in Brazil very soon. Thank you for reading this! The sunset announces the end of the first day of FireWhip working for everybody. This is FireWhip; an awesome rollercoaster in an awesome theme park! There are cameras on each train that record your ride, so you can buy a DVD of your experience in the first inverted rollercoaster in Brazil Fog – One of the special effects! =D Yeah, the theming is complete now! But it’s not exclusive for our group today... Let’s wait a little bit! Some members of the Brazilian rollercoaster club were there again to see the now complete FireWhip. It’s a whole new experience here in Brazil, so the entire park wanted to ride it. The fireworks announce that everybody is about to feel the Vekoma power! The Park held a special event for FireWhip grand opening. At the end of the day, we can watch an incredible show that tells us about Beto Carrero life. It’s a special moment that makes everybody laugh and cry at the same time. It’s called: Beto Carrero Memory Show. As you can see, Beto Carrero World has a lot of rides and attractions for the whole family. The park is very large and I can’t show everything here, or it would take about four pages of pictures. So I end up this TR here and leave a bonus to you: some pictures of FireWhip grand opening that happened last Sunday! Weee!!! BCW really loves Vekomas. They have three ones. Here it is: Star World Mountain The second sign says “Montanha-Russa”, which means “rollercoaster” in portuguese, so let’s follow it! RIP guys! Oh my God! elkingda toroka
Great TR what company makes that rapids ride I've always thought it was made by shwarzkopf for some reason.... How smooth is firewhip anyway knowing that SlC's are more like Fight club:the ride.
nagro5
Absoultly AMAZING! I love seeing parks that I've never even heard of before, especially when they are this awesome! Thumbs up on the TR!
Marcio
^^ It was made by the park itself. Only the boats and motors are imported; they are from Hafema (Germany). The course, theming and construction are 100% Brazilian! About FireWhip, the park has a former Vekoma engineer there, so they know everything about how to make a Vekoma smooth. lol Of course, it's not as smooth as an Intamin or a B&M, but it doesn't shake that much if compared to other Vekomas. Corkscrew
Great photos! Looks like a very nice park. Firewhip just might steal the title of best looking SLC from Infusion...
DiSab
That is truly the best-looking SLC ever. There are many coasters from higher-rated parks and companies that don't look anywhere near as awesome as FireWhip. Excellent job to the park. brilinjo
Nice pics and story. If CBMR is the Brazillian version of TPR, does that make you the Brazillian Robb Alvey?
WFChris
This was fantastic! Always fun to see a park I haven seen before...and a NICE one at that!!!! If only we could have a TPR Brazil trip...but I dont really see a point yet. There would have to be some 'culture days' on that one!! Anyway, thank you for the amazing, in depth report Chris. sam06pr
Pretty interesting that the park built the rapids ride. It is awesome to see that they can take care of their rides. Fire Whip looks awesome, and with an engineer from Vekoma, hopefully the park will get a brand new custom made coaster int the future.

Speeddeamon128
Great TR & pics! I didn't realize that Firewhip had awesome paint & theming. Did it have the new Vekoma SLC trains like Morey's? Beto Carrero World looks like a nice themed park & would love to visit it someday.

lucazferrazCBMR
Hi, TPR! I'm Lucaz Ferraz, CBMR founder. Marcio is one of the most important members we have, without him, it would be impossible to run the Club. I'm glad you liked the TR, Marcio did really an awesome job! I believe BCW's 1st gen is the last of it's kind. But don't worry: the park has no plans to shut it down! People love it! About FireWhip: the restraints are not the new ones, but the sidewheels are very well regulated, so it doesn't shake as much as the 'mind erasers', if you now what I mean. Tigor is perfectly smooth, but I think it's due to the kind of track. And Star Mountain is almost not a Vekoma...lol Seriously, it doesn't shake at all, I don't know how they did that... About TPR in Brazil, I really think you should organize a trip to South America. Check the parks you could visit: In Brasil: Beto Carrero World (4 coasters) Hopi Hari (4 coasters) Playcenter (5 coasters) Terra Encantada (3 coasters) Mirabilandia (3 coasters) Walter World (2 coasters) Acqualokos (1 home-made hybrid coaster) Nicolandia (4 coasters, including one queen-bee) And many other one-coaster small parks In Argentina: Parque de La Costa (3 coasters, including 1 SLC) many small one-coaster parks In Chile: Fantasilandia (5 coasters, including 1 SLC) Colombia: Camelot Park (1 very interesting coaster in a very cute park) Salitre Magico (4 coasters including a Schwarzkopf Jet Star 3) Parque Nacional del Cafe (1 Schwarzkopf Extended Jumbo Jet) Venezuela: Diverland (1 coaster. The park is in Isla Margarita). You could do all that in 10 days, if running just for credits.. smile You should really consider! Happy 2009! SharkTums
^Thanks Lucaz, A TPR South America Trip is in the works for 2010 or 2011, and we are very excited! Hopefully as it comes closer you can help us with some park stuff!
OldJJman
It's a very nice looking park!! Well thought out, good themeing! What a concept! Thanks to Marcio and the other Brazilian peeps for the great PTR. Great job guys!! JJ
Noxegon
That is truly the best-looking SLC ever. There are a few really impressive looking SLCs out there (it's amazing how you can polish a turd, eh?) and this is probably the top of the pile. Watch out for Infusion in Blackpool, the Mayan Adventure in Taiwan, and the Cobra in Cape Town mind.
