It's also a very unimaginative B&M, with the worst rattle of any B&M I've been on.

We still had fun, but only because we were already in Myrtle Beach. Without a decent hypercoaster or something more interesting, the park is toast.

I totally agree, after I got all the coasters done during my visit I really felt let down. LZ was hardly re-rideable. The ride itself is pretty rough, and the pre-show makes it annoying after 2 rides, imo.

Some kind of major star attraction, a GCI woodie would be great, is crucial in the near future. They have a good number of coasters, but none of them are particularly stellar.

LedZ Rough???

Hurler is rough...
Gwazi is rough...
Ninja (sfog) is rough...

But I would never thought anyone would consider Led rough. Yes it rattles but I think the last thing it is, is rough.

Hard Rock Park Closed - Files for bankruptcy

Postby East Coast(er) General » Wed Sep 24, 2008 5:33 pm

We were making final preparations for my son's birthday trip to HRP and went to double-check everything when we found this:

Why did they close unannounced (we were looking at the schedule on the website just last night)? Because they filed for bankruptcy today. No word on refunds for season pass holders. At least they intend to re-open next year.

Now I have to cancel my hotel reservations. Guess we'll just have to do BGE & KD. :(

Maybe it will get picked up by someone else.

But I expected this, you can't just out of the blue make a theme park. :lmao:

I dreamt I went to the Hard Rock park (no kidding) last night which is totally random because I have no desire to make the effort to go there, which I guess says it all about their chances of success.

It was a mediocre park in the wrong location, not surprised at all by this news.

Clearly Rock is dead... Either that or the park was a completely mismanaged piece...

Hopefully they can find someone who can turn it around because I honestly don't think the current heads can do it based on this seasons performance.

A donkey is a domesticated member of the Equidae or horse family.

Wow. I read the foreboding trip reports, I saw their ominous ride closures, I saw their hideous numbers, but I'm still surprised that it actually happened.

I *need* to get to Myrtle Beach ASAP next year, before this place really goes under. And for the beach. The beach is cool too.
