Sexy No Jutsu
Mark, did you ride the Outer Limits Coasters when they still had the OTSR's? Yeah, that's what it's like. Your head is a pinball going back and forth, every once in a while there's a brief respite, often followed by a giant smack. The way the trains run, I'm not convinced that being able to see the layout would help that much. Like others have said you need to try one of the hard core Vekoma brace positions (either Turtle your head and get the hell away from that restraint) or slam your head to one side and fight to keep it against one side of the restraint. It's just a rough as hell Vekoma. I would almost accept it at another park, but I can't believe that Disney would allow people to ride that, it's just that terrible. Wow, I was going to say "It can't be TOO bad." I guess I'm wrong. It's a shame. I can't tell if Rock N' Roller coaster is showing any age in DSP, but at DHS it's actually relatively smooth. I think it's aging rather well.
robbalvey
Disneyland Paris - Part 2 C'est dans la boite! Well, this pretty much brings to a close our mini-updates for TPR's Europe Trip 2008.... Now that is HOT! "He's actually DEAD! I'm controlling him 'Weekend at Bernie's' style!" When you've had seventeen beers, what's one more, Steve? Steve was the star of the show! That night at the bar, things got a little heated up... It was a great night of food, friends, and corporate mascots! ...and so did Chris! Looks like Lou found a lover on this trip! It was like one big party with TPR members and Disney characters! Our TPR Europe Trip farewell dinner was at Cafe Mickey. "Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine!" These guys never get old. It has some clever theming and a small dark ride part, but once that's over it's the same model that you can find at Lagoon, Waldameer, and other parks. Spooky lift hill! If you could spot the TPR members in this line, you must be a stalker. Time for the newest Disney Paris coaster - Crush's Turtle Twister! Riding Tower of Terror...TPR style! Wait...are we still in Paris?!?! ROCK OUT BIG MIKE!!! Hi Lou! How are you? Ready for Rockin' Roller Coaster? Me too! It was time for a little Aerosmith action...French style! More fire + Horizons props = Better than Florida! This attraction gives some good dinosaur head! Somewhere mcjaco just died a little inside. Water = Bad! (At least on the Dan scale!) Catastrophe Canyon...fire = Good! KidTums wants to go on the tram tour first. We decided to head over to Disney Studios Paris for some random fun. Big Thunder ERT = HUGE success! "Sorry, you cannot come in yet...must wait until all the TPR dorks are done with the ride...." "Raise your hands....if you're sure!" So very pretty....so much better than all the others. In this tunnel is where all the craziness happens! Lot of sexy Big Thunder curves. Whee!!!! This is easily the BEST Big Thunder of any Disney park. Let our Big Thunder ERT begin! Wandering through Frontierland before it's open was just TPR members and...well...that was pretty much it! Robb gets everyone together so we can walk over to our ERT session! It was kind of creepy walking through the park when hardly anyone was there. Our second morning at Disneyland Paris started with some ERT on Big Thunder Mountain. thrillerman1
I am still seriously amazed at our BTM ERT. That was BRILLIANT! Yes, definitely the best of the BTM's by far. Thanks again Robb & Elissa, anyone who helped with this trip, as well as any peeps I had the pleasure to hang out with who made this trip so incredibly fun. I can't wait to do another! dandaman
"He's actually DEAD! I'm controlling him 'Weekend at Bernie's' style!" Awesomely epic TR. I can't believe you can do all this and still find yourself alive!
Nrthwnd
It was an awesome tour. And BTM/ERT was just an amazing cherry on an already great cake of a tour. Thanks Elissa and Robb. It was another wonderful tour. (So when is the Scandinavian tour again, wink wink nudge nudge?)
hipbrianhop
That picture of the spooky lifthill of Crushs Coaster makes me feel so good. I remember that awsome ride in that coaster. But when I see the picture showing an empty mainstreet, it makes me so pissed off. An empty mainstreet?!>? I have some confusing feelings about this update
Moose
It was empty because the picture was taken during extra magic hours. Despite the resorts being very full very few poeple were there during the start of EMH. On day one it was basically only TPR peeps at the gate waiting for the park to open, which I found very odd. The parks did get much much more crowded later in the day. Another good update, but I am not going to say I like it, because it is another nail in the coffin of this trip. I had a great time. Thanks Again.
ginzo
^Well, the extra hours were 2 hours long and I noticed that the crowds started to pick up in the 2nd hour of the extra magic hours. Also, there wasn't all that much open during that time, so if you were staying for multiple days you really didn't need all that time. Too bad they opened crappy Space Mountain early instead of Big Thunder Mountain.
monkeyoverlord71
I'm going to disneyland paris for a school trip!!! i can't wait especially after this TR Just exactly how sore is space mountain to ride compared to another coaster like corkscrew at alton towers? Ryancrash
ERT on Big Thunder Mountain was amazing! Quite an unexpected surprise to cap off an already phenomenal trip. And the TPR perks just keep on coming... Robb and Elissa - thanks again for such an awesome Europe Tour! How many days left until Scandinavia now? I've seen video of Thunder Mountain at Disneyland Paris, and it seriously looks like the best Thunder Mountain EVER! I mean, it's freakin tall! I'm glad that ya'll got to enjoy some awesome ERT on it! Thanks for all the Updates(not just from Robb, but everyone else's updates as well). clarinetman
I think its great to have these delayed trip reports. I love being reminded of such a great trip (even though it was the end) more than a month later. Thanks Robb and Elissa, your really did a spectacular job putting this one together. Hope to do it again next year!
darklingscribe
you plan great trips Robb and Elissa. I want to say that every day was a highlight, but the whole point of the term highlight mean something that stands out above the norm and a normal day on one of these trips is beyond awesome. People ask me which one of the trips I've been on was my favorite and I can't give them a straight answer. They've all been awesome and each one has proven to be full of different experiences. terrancew_hod
My last pic of the TPR, leaving for my party weekend! Hands up, geek level at 100%! Awww, looks like fun! If I didn't have that party that night, I would have stayed! I was landing in Madrid by this point, dealing with a man working the metro pass office who tried to close 20 minutes early! I walked into his office and he had the nerve to say he was closed. He wanted me to pay for another pass from a machine and go to the center of town tomorrow to redeem my pass. I asked him if he ever met a mad, crazy black man from the US. I showed him the voucher for my pass with his office's hours printed on it showing his office was supposed to be open. "You'd best give me my pass." Needless to say, I got my pass from him and got on the metro, heading to my villa. nojarama
Finally got through all the TR's, pics & videos of the tour. Thanks to all for your perspectives. Wish I could have been there (especially DLP). What did you all think of the DLP take of PM and POTC? I adore DLP (and I've never been there yet). I think they really did a wonderful job with that park IMO (especially that AWESOME castle). Can't wait to visit someday!

BrownStreak
Two questions about the coaster in this picture. Are those farm animals grazing in the turnaround? And whats with the six identical cars parked on the side of a dirt road to the left (there are more of them visible in another pic of the ride)? larrygator
^Yes, there were cows laughing at our pain as we rode Anaconda. Never noticed those cars. I had probably already passed out from the pain.
