Do you know why there are rocks in the pic " Coming out of the loop"? That looks very odd to me!

I didn't know that there were no rocks before. So I didn't pay attention to them. Did we got the premier.

May 28th Kings Dominion
IMG_0002.jpg
Kings Dominion. This park is exactly the same as Kings Island... well almost.
IMG_0004.jpg
The park was dead. This were the only people in the park.
IMG_0005.jpg
Volcano. This coaster looks great.
IMG_0006.jpg
The ride itself was kind of a disappointment.
IMG_0007.jpg
It was real good fun but I expected something more.
IMG_0083.jpg
It goes very slowly through these elements.
IMG_0003.jpg
Bob
IMG_0008.jpg
Anaconda.
IMG_0009.jpg
Arrow multilooper
IMG_0010.jpg
Aquatrax.
IMG_0012.jpg
This time I tried the frontseat
IMG_0013.jpg
and it worked out very well.
IMG_0014.jpg
Hardly any pain.
IMG_0015.jpg
Backlot stunt coaster. This time all of the effects worked... except for the chopper.
IMG_0016.jpg
Shockwave. A Togo standup coaster the one in Canadas Wonderland was good so I was looking forward to this.
IMG_0018.jpg
Only this one was very painfull.
IMG_0023.jpg
The Rebel Yell was only running the right side.
IMG_0024.jpg
It was very bumpy and rough.
IMG_0029.jpg
The Hurler
IMG_0031.jpg
This coaster had some good spots.
IMG_0032.jpg
It was the best wooden coaster in the park.
IMG_0035.jpg
The Grizly was quite different.
IMG_0036.jpg
It was hard to find.
IMG_0038.jpg
and hard to forget.

5/28 : KD

Nice park. Crowds were very light.
FoF was closed the whole day and only one side of Rebel Yell was running.
Dominator kicks a$$. Very good and long coaster.
Avalance was running only 1 train which resulted in the longest row of the park.

Oh no, not again ;-)
DSC04661 (Medium).JPG
No, it was running perfect.

This Arrow was fairly ok. We rode it in the frontrow and turned our head in the right direction I guess ;-)
DSC04638 (Medium).JPG
I love it when the train disappears under the water for a moment. Nice gimmick. Only a pitty that you can't get closer to that point.
DSC04640 (Medium).JPG
This one had nearly all effects working. They 2 we rode earlier, had only a small part of the effects working. CF really should do something about that.
DSC04642 (Medium).JPG
This was no good.
DSC04644 (Medium).JPG
It's the weirdest train, no doubt.

Grizzly : bad
DSC04653 (Medium).JPG
Hurler : bad
DSC04654 (Medium).JPG
Rebel Yell : bad
DSC04655 (Medium).JPG
Scooby Doo : bad.

Volcano : short but good.

I love these things

Great that this one is not covered. For taking pics that is.

Yesterday, with much lighter crowds, it worked out better. At a lot of rides, they now managed to get the trains dispatched before the previous train arrived at the station.
One example : at most rides, they opened the gates immediately after the train came to a stand still in the station so that people could start taking place. On Monday, they waited till everyone of the previous train had left the loading platform before opening the gates for the next riders.

It looks like heavy crowds make the ride ops work more slowly for some reason.

Ah, KD looks very nice! But apparently not much good coasters?! Good thing the crowds were light then...

Love the aerial views, especially the one of Anaconda. I really love the Arrow lay outs, although I've never seen one in real life.

Anyway, keep the pictures coming and have fun over there!

Quick question---you all rode Dominator and Medusa within days of each other....how do you think they compare?

KD is one of my local parks, but I don't really like it, so I don't go much.

However, KD still has plenty of cool stuff for a first time visitor. Cedar Fair has made it worse though IMO.
