I know the following photos don't have coasters in them, but be patient. It was a long weekend from Thursday through Sunday.

The following photos were from the Sharks' play-off game on Thursday night. Unfortunately they are down 2 games to 1 against the Flames as I type this.
IMG_2713.JPG
They have police on horses outside the Shark tank. I hope we're not expecting any trouble.
IMG_2714.JPG
This is my friend Hopper. Best bartender in town. You should always know a good bartender.
IMG_2716.JPG
Pretty good crowd going into the tank.
IMG_2718.JPG
I like it that they scan your ticket so it stays in tact instead of tearing it.
IMG_2717.JPG
Up the escalator...
IMG_2719.JPG
Here is the view looking back down. Man that's a lot of people and a sea of teal!
IMG_2721.JPG
The place was rockin'.
IMG_2723.JPG
They lower the Shark head and have the Sharks come through it.
IMG_2724.JPG
The give-away was white pom-poms. The picture doesn't do it justice, but it looked great there.
IMG_2726.JPG
Almost all the way down...
IMG_2729.JPG
Coming out of the fluffy, fluffy bunny filled with medicine and goo rooms.
IMG_2731.JPG
Through the Sharks mouth. Now, let's play hockey!!!
IMG_2732.JPG
We're getting comfortable in our seats.
IMG_2733.JPG
That's my other friend Jim. These are his seats.
IMG_2734.JPG
This was probably the loudest game I have ever been to.
IMG_2735.JPG
Jim's son JJ has the other seat.
IMG_2736.JPG
Opening face-off...
IMG_2737.JPG
First intermission. No score. I love it when they bring fans on the ice to try to run.
IMG_2738.JPG
They are doing push-ups here.
IMG_2740.JPG
Still trying to gain some traction...
IMG_2742.JPG
then they had them ride the tricycles back to the other end.
IMG_2744.JPG
0-0 face off for period 2...
IMG_2745.JPG
Yep, it must be 0-0...:(
IMG_2746.JPG
That changed within 5 minutes though...
IMG_2749.JPG
Hey, it's Sharkie. I haven't seen him in this area for a long time.
IMG_2750.JPG
Up 2-0 now with less than 5 minutes to go...
IMG_2753.JPG
Sharks ended up winning 2-0. Now they are down 2-1 because they lost last night... :(((

It was Gyendolynne's birthday on Saturday. We had a good dinner at Henry's Hi-Life, just down the street from Arena, and then went to the Sabercats game.

Don't worry, there will be roller coaster pics soon enough. Enjoy another non-coaster update!
IMG_2754.JPG
Derek, Heath and Kim made it to El Toro last year. I unfortunately didn't meet them there.
IMG_2755.JPG
I was actually going to Sinaloa's mexican restaurant. El Toro was next door...who knew???
IMG_2756.JPG
Derek does a much better review of the place then I could ever do.
IMG_2757.JPG
I ended up having the sampler. Maybe I should have taken the photo a few moments earlier...
IMG_2758.JPG
This is the beer menu. I had the Jasper Hoppy, El Toro IPA, Wheat (terrible!!), and a couple more that I forget. I like the Jasper Hoppy and El Toro IPA. That's all for my report.
IMG_2759.JPG
Next stop, Sinaloa's for lunch. Yep, it is Gyendolynne's birthday. My gift to her was some sleep and alone time!
IMG_2760.JPG
They have great margaritas here.
IMG_2761.JPG
ooops! I should have taken the picture sooner, again.
IMG_2764.JPG
After a few hours, we head out to dinner at Henry's Hi-Life!
IMG_2763.JPG
There's Gyendolynne! We usually go with my friend, Dave, to the Sabercats games.
IMG_2765.JPG
They have some great food here. Gyendolynne had ribs...
IMG_2766.JPG
Dave had prime-rib...
IMG_2767.JPG
I went with the New York. Hey, this time I took the picture early enough.
IMG_2768.JPG
Happy Birthday Gyendolynne!!!
IMG_2769.JPG
The Shark Tank looks a little different today.
IMG_2771.JPG
Hi, please scan my ticket.
IMG_2772.JPG
The Sabercats are a really good Arena football team.
IMG_2774.JPG
Dave's seat was behind us.
IMG_2775.JPG
My friend works the chains at the game. These seats were from him.
IMG_2776.JPG
Sabercats have won the west 7 times.
IMG_2777.JPG
They won the Arena Bowl 3 times, including last year.
IMG_2778.JPG
Here are some random photos.

IMG_2781.JPG
This is the head coach.
IMG_2783.JPG
Sabercats warming up...
IMG_2784.JPG
IMG_2785.JPG
This is the chain group. Sorry for the blurry photo. I was very far away.
IMG_2786.JPG
The guy on the right is the one that gave us the seats.
IMG_2787.JPG
Fans really get into the game, at any age...
IMG_2788.JPG
By the way, it gets pretty loud in here. A lot of people bring ear-plugs. She put headphones on her baby.
IMG_2790.JPG
How about some in-door fireworks!
IMG_2791.JPG
This guy is Saber, the mascot. Sorry for the darkness.
IMG_2792.JPG
Woohoo! Cheerleaders, already have more women than Big Mike's updates.
IMG_2793.JPG
IMG_2794.JPG
IMG_2795.JPG
Here come the Sabercats.
IMG_2796.JPG
My friend Chris, carrying the down box.
IMG_2797.JPG
He needs some face time.
IMG_2798.JPG
She needs some face time too. The TV Time-out girl...
IMG_2799.JPG
These photos are for my pal, Big Mike...
IMG_2800.JPG
IMG_2801.JPG
IMG_2802.JPG
Back to the game. They almost ran back the kick-off for a touchdown here.
IMG_2803.JPG
IMG_2804.JPG
IMG_2805.JPG
Penalty!!!
IMG_2806.JPG
IMG_2807.JPG
Touchdown!!!
IMG_2808.JPG
They had this dog show for half-time.
IMG_2809.JPG
It was very entertaining.
IMG_2810.JPG
IMG_2811.JPG
I will leave with this...

Sabercats lost 58-57. The kicker missed two extra points and a last second 48 yard field goal. Philly scored with 10 seconds to go and got the two-point conversion.

Awesome reports!!

I like sports reports too!

Brings back memories of playoff games at the Joe that I went to every year.

No one will beat the Wings this year anyway.

Thanks for the cheerleaders pictures! I was scrolling through wondering if you would have any.

Happy Birthday to Gyendolynne!!!!

Peace, Big Mike

We went to Gilroy Gardens on 4/13. It has been a couple of years since we have been there. They have done a terrific job here. The place is clean, well themed, and maintained. It was extremely hot today also.

They have a kiddie coaster and another one that turned out to be pretty decent.

Here are the photos...of coasters and amusement parks, this time!!!
IMG_2813.JPG
Hooray! We're here
IMG_2814.JPG
The entrance...
IMG_2815.JPG
This guy with the back-pack was claiming all he had was food for his kids. The bottom of the bag was filled with waters! There is a sign that says not outside food or drink. Why do people even try?
IMG_2816.JPG
You walk across this bridge to enter the park. They had a guy taking a survey that walked with us.
IMG_2817.JPG
Funny, they have a Spring Fling event going on too.
IMG_2818.JPG
First stop....
IMG_2819.JPG
Hi Gyendolynne. Are you enjoying your birthday weekend?
IMG_2820.JPG
Here's my horse.
IMG_2821.JPG
I think he is saying, "hey fatty, get off!!!"
IMG_2822.JPG
Ooooh, first credit. I am sure Big Mike will see this soon enough.
IMG_2830.JPG
The theming for the walk-way and for the ride are really cool.
IMG_2831.JPG
Why would anyone want to take the long way around???
IMG_2832.JPG
A neat thing about the area is the soundtrack. They have chainsaws and trees being cut down.
IMG_2824.JPG
Hey snake, you look awfully familiar. Didn't I see you at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom? Rich, does this count as a credit?
IMG_2825.JPG
Beware of the tail...
IMG_2826.JPG
Lift-hill
IMG_2827.JPG
IMG_2828.JPG
We're on it...
IMG_2829.JPG
Did I mention that we had ERT at Gilroy Gardens too?
IMG_2833.JPG
Some neat rides and theming photos coming. I don't think captions are needed.

IMG_2843.JPG
The park is educational too...
IMG_2844.JPG
IMG_2845.JPG
Time for some more ERT.
IMG_2846.JPG
IMG_2847.JPG
Like I said, the crowds were un-bearable yesterday.
IMG_2848.JPG
IMG_2849.JPG
Back of the train.
IMG_2850.JPG
Up the lift hill...
IMG_2851.JPG
Up the second lift hill. Yes, a second lift hill.
IMG_2852.JPG
This tree was transplanted from Scotts Valley.
IMG_2854.JPG
Sorry, if you buy it here, you gotta drink it here.
IMG_2856.JPG
A couple more photos of Quicksilver Express.
IMG_2857.JPG
IMG_2855.JPG
Scott, they have a monorail!!!
IMG_2859.JPG
It just doesn't seem like the same one you like so much though.
IMG_2860.JPG
Nope, definitely not the same one. This monorail goes inside a greenhouse.
IMG_2863.JPG
It was so friggin' hot in here!
IMG_2864.JPG
IMG_2866.JPG
Some more random park photos coming up.
IMG_2867.JPG
IMG_2868.JPG
They have a great train that goes around the whole park.
IMG_2870.JPG
IMG_2869.JPG
Sorry folks, the falls are closed. Shouldn't this say "Gilroy Gardens" ??
IMG_2871.JPG
IMG_2872.JPG
No one got lost in here today.
IMG_2873.JPG
IMG_2877.JPG
This duck wanted our food.
IMG_2878.JPG
Don't you want some artichoke hearts?
IMG_2879.JPG
This is one of the many falls throughout the Gardens.

I visited Bonfante--er, Gilroy Gardens in July 2004. Nice park...I want to go back sometime and bring Diana.

Interesting monorail they have...I'm not sure why they have lap bars on it. It's not like it has any inversions or anything.

One of my favorite rides there was the big swinging banana. Did you guys ride that?

^We rode the banana the first time we went, but not this time. It is a fun ride though.

The only thing we didn't ride, that I really want to ride, is the cars. I want to see what the whole area back there is about. The train would have been a good ride yesterday as well.

Continuing with Gyendolynne’s birthday weekend:

We went to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk after Gilroy Gardens. The place was packed! I guess it would have to be, since it was the hottest day of the year. What were we thinking?

We walked around a little bit and rode the Giant Dipper. We also rode the sky ride back to the where we entered, but that was it.

Onto the pics!
IMG_2887.JPG
We headed into the Boardwalk by the log ride. The Sea Serpent ride is back there.
IMG_2888.JPG
The line was too long. We decided not to ride it.
IMG_2886.JPG
I will tease Big Mike with a couple of Kiddie coaster photos.
IMG_2885.JPG
IMG_2889.JPG
They re-did this ride with more glow in the dark parts inside. We didn't ride this either. I think it was out of fear of the guy without his shirt on.
IMG_2890.JPG
Train enthusiast photo.
IMG_2882.JPG
We went by the log ride as we headed to the Giant Dipper.
IMG_2881.JPG
It has a nice splash, and on such a hot day, it was needed!
IMG_2891.JPG
We're almost to you...
IMG_2892.JPG
Man, it was crowded!
IMG_2894.JPG
Too bad they didn't know we were coming. No ERT for us here.
IMG_2895.JPG
This was interesting. They had a lot of cool coaster facts in the queue and a TV with some video.
IMG_2896.JPG
More facts that we all probably know.
IMG_2897.JPG
Darnit! Are we there yet?
IMG_2898.JPG
The originial fly-by the station.
IMG_2899.JPG
Coming into the station.
IMG_2900.JPG
No one has ever taking this pic before.
IMG_2901.JPG
I found it peculiar that they don't use the manual brakes anymore.
IMG_2902.JPG
Manual brake #2...or is it #1?
IMG_2903.JPG
We're finally ready to ride.
IMG_2904.JPG
We went by the Carousel...Hi Scott and Rich!
IMG_2905.JPG
I know that this is one of the oldest and one of the few left with the brass ring pull. I think I read that it is celebrating its 95th year.
IMG_2907.JPG
We went up to Hurricane, but it isn't worth the wait.
IMG_2906.JPG
This is what the crowd looked like from the Hurricane.
IMG_2908.JPG
Riding the sky ride back.
IMG_2909.JPG
Another shot of the crowd.
IMG_2911.JPG
The Dipper!!!
IMG_2912.JPG
We didn't do the Haunted Castle either.
IMG_2913.JPG
More Dipper...

Dipper...

Good-bye Dipper, we'll see you soon. :) That's it for now. Where to next???

Um... is that a giant inflatable woman on the sky ride?

I think that's scarier than the shirtless dude!
