jarmor
Well this past sunday I decided to go to SFoG to get my last **gasp** Gasp. I was expecting more like atleast a sign up front stating that it was everyone's last time to experience such a great ride but unfortunetly that didnt happen. Once I got to the park around 1:30 or so...(was suppose to leave the house at like 6 that morning...) I went straight to the Great Gasp. It was weird looking at it knowing that it wouldnt be there next year. But one thing for sure, the general public is a little shaken about the fact that the ride is being removed. While in line I was talking to a few who were talking about the ride and how its such an icon. Well I got a total of 2 rides on it, which means 2 buttons; one for me and one for EBAY! Oh yeah a dude got caught with his video camera out while exiting the station on GASM and the ride ops handled the situation very poorly in my opinion because you just dont talk to people with attitude and not expect one to come lashing back at you. Needless to say security was called... here are some random shots of sundays event. Also here is my version of a tribute video I made last week in honor ofThe Great Gasp and Looping Starship! Enjoy! The dude got caught w/ his camera out on GASM. Some words were exchanged and security was called! A shot of the whole cyclone... The remains of the looping starship... jarmor
Yeah im still shocked about the whole decision but im starting to believe that it was already in the plans in the beginning. Oh and another thing I was talking to someone in the marketing department and was asking why it was being removed (was acting like a regular ole guy ) and he was like for future development for next year...so I was like future developement of what...then he was like reconstruction of the area...so I was like oh, you mean the hyper coaster. He just smiled and ask me if I was in a coaster fan club. Then I mention the fact that I figured they would go with B&M due to the recent events with intamin but his reply was... "Who is B&M...". So I was thinking 1) either this guy is pulling my leg or 2) its made by another company. Then I thought about how Golitah (SP?) in walibi has the spread out supports vs they tradition arrow like lift structure most intamin hypers have. So right now im just keeping my options open about this coaster because he also stated, "who said it had to be a hyper coaster... Jarvis "Did you check out the VIDEO" Morant! Sir Clinksalot
I'm pretty sure it will be B&M, although another Intamin Hyper would be SWEET!!! Just don't make it a Morgan.

Sir Clinksalot
sigh. I missed it. I had every intention to get out there Saturday (like Jarmor, I was also planning on leaving at 6am), but I had some family drama and had to motor down to Charleston for most of the weekend (but hey, dad's quadruple bypass went great! Eat more cheeseburgers, kids!). Sad to see it go, since I never did manage to get a ride on it. Didn't someone in another thread say the official announcement was going to be in September? cfc
What a drag to lose another parachute-drop ride. I used to love the Parachute Sky Jump at Knott's. Chuck "Knott's should've kept the Wacky Soap Box Racers, too" Campbell
