Another INTAMIN 1st Gen Freefall Bites The Dust?

Postby GAcoaster » Tue Aug 01, 2006 12:34 pm

Screamscape reported a rumor that the last day of operation for the Freefall ride at SFGAdv was Sunday, and while at first I was doubtful since it had just been brought back online after an extended rehab/downtime, I just received a couple of "unofficial" confirmations from people in the know at the park that it is down for the rest of the season, and probably for good.

It's too bad that all these are closeing, but it is costly to keep running, and they are very loud. They seem to be really fun, and I wish I got the chance to ride the on at CP when I was there. :(

I suppose you all are correct....

But coudn't they make a new version that's smoother, makes less noise, and is more reliable? Possibly taller? I mean, it's such a good ride experience, and so much different than other freefalls.

That sucks. Soon all the first gen intamin freefalls will bite the dust.

Well, maybe they will put some new flats in its place, but with SF being in all this bankruptcy and considering to sell some parks, I don't think any Six Flags park will be getting anything new for a while, but who knows.

That would be very dumb of them, they need to add new stuff, no matter how nice they make their employess. They'll add more family stuff, though.
