^ I know. We're idiots. It was gorgeous but... Way too much of it. I don't actually remember whether we finished it all! I know I ate some of the last of it on the plane coming back from Sweden, but I don't recall what happened to it then...

A donkey is a domesticated member of the Equidae or horse family.

Pleasurewood Hills
01-camera.jpg
What happens when your camera breaks during the trip? Buy a new one, of course!
02-aussies.jpg
Our trip to Pleasurewood was delayed by the Aussies buying beer
03-credit.jpg
First thing we see at Pleasurewood is the classic Schwarzkopf
04-boomerang.jpg
There was also another credit here, but it wasn't quite ready to ride
05-entrance.jpg
The entrance
06-downforthecount.jpg
Ryan down for the count
07-john.jpg
I wonder what will happen if John took a picture of the track in the background. Being a Vekoma, I think it might get put back together.
08-track.jpg
09-queue.jpg
The ride was operating with a single eight person train, making for slow throughput. At least we were escorted to the ride as soon as the park opened
10-transfer.jpg
The ride has seperate loading and unloading stations, although they didn't help very much with only one train
11-layout.jpg
From here you get an idea of the twisted layout
12-stuck.jpg
"Roller Coaster 1 has broken down" - "Restraints stuck closed"
13-stuck2.jpg
Well John did take a picture
14-ride.jpg
What's that I see in the front seat?
15-sigmove.jpg
Signature move!
16-twister.jpg
Another view of the twisted track
17-upthelift.jpg
Going up the lift
18-dirt.jpg
Here's some dirt
19-jcb.jpg
This looks like a fun ride
20-crush.jpg
Still bigger than Disneyland's
21-ducks.jpg
The geese are known to attack when provoked
22-credit.jpg
Time for Snake in the Grass, or Rattlesnack, or whatever it's called
23-credittrain.jpg
It's the credit whore train
24-fun.jpg
We are having way too much fun on the kiddie coaster
25-john.jpg
Okay John, we've all got the credit
26-ryan.jpg
27-chairlift.jpg
Time for Merry Go Straight, or Alpine Chairlift, or something
28-boomerang.jpg
Here's what the new ride might look like
29-robb.jpg
Hey Elissa, you know you want to ride that slide!
30-dirt.jpg
Dirt!
31-dirt.jpg
More dirt!
32-beergarden.jpg
Due to the lack of vertical loops at the park (besides in the parking lot), this was probably Derek's favorite spot
33-foreman.jpg
It's the George Foreman Grill ride
34-darkride.jpg
PH had a few dark rides. This was a "kiddie ride"
35-darkride2.jpg
Fortunately we had a kid to ride with
36-tales.jpg
Tales of the Coast is another "dark" ride
37-boats.jpg
Much of it is outdoors
38-threed.jpg
Threeeeeeeeeeeeee-deeeeeeeeeeeee!
39-credit.jpg
Sorry, that doesn't count as a credit

Great Yarmouth and Joyland
02-pleasurebeach.jpg
Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach was our next stop.
03-pb.jpg
It's a traditional sea-side amusement park
04-wackyworm.jpg
But what we were here for was the Wacky Worm!
05-onride.jpg
Cha-ching!
06-rollercoaster.jpg
Roller Coaster is an old Scenic Railway
07-track.jpg
While Vekoma rides have an inch between the upstops and the track, this ride doesn't even have upstop wheels
08-push.jpg
In addition, the ride ops have to regularly get out and push
09-brake.jpg
This is where the brakeman sits
10-litter.jpg
We did not get the chance to litter
11-lift.jpg
Even though it is a scenic railway, the ride uses a standard chain lift
12-view.jpg
View from the top of the lift
13-tree.jpg
The inside of the facade does not reveal much, besides this tree
14-greenlight.jpg
Fortunately our brakeman did not run any red lights
15-drops.jpg
Some of the drops are fairly large
16-wackyworm.jpg
As mentioned above though, the Wacky Worm was the main draw
17-hauntedhotel.jpg
The Haunted Hotel was a funhouse type attraction
18-3d.jpg
Another "3D" attraction
19-glow.jpg
While there were no 3D effects, there were plenty of blacklight effects
20-circus.jpg
I thought this place had an Arrow multilooper
21-golf.jpg
I wonder if Arnold Palmer actually endorses this mini-golf course
22-turds.jpg
23-snails.jpg
The snails ride over at Joyland
24-hills.jpg
It's powered
25-credit.jpg
Time for a 'real' credit
26-joyland.jpg
Joyland is a small "kiddie park"
27-tubtwist.jpg
Tub Twist is a powered "Virginia Wheel" ride. It spins a lot
28-ride.jpg
This was one of those "WTF" type rides
29-chris.jpg
Designed for kids, of course
01-joyland.jpg
We left Joyland and headed to the pier
30-flume.jpg
This was an unusual "flume" ride in that it had no drops, and had clear water
31-simulator.jpg
Perhaps the most realistic Arrow ride simulator. The car literally shook back and forth going up the lift hill
32-slides.jpg
Inflateble attractions were all along the beach
33-mature.jpg
Suprisingly they let us in, even without a "more mature paying person"
34-rc.jpg
Another view of the Roller Coaster
35-horses.jpg
A horse racing game
36-james.jpg
James won a prize
37-goldenticket.jpg
"I got a golden ticket!"
38-flag.jpg
We got Nigel something for the coach

Thorpe Park

I had visited Thorpe Park in the past, back in 1999. Back then, the park was a disappointment. All the rides kept breaking down, and the only true credit was X.
01-intamin.jpg
The last park of the UK portion of the trip
02-credit.jpg
Where do we go to get on that ride?
03-queues.jpg
Elissa warned us that this place would be just like a Six Flags park
04-stealth.jpg
First new credit: Stealth.
If you want to ride, you need to get a hands free kit for your cell phone, and don't drink and drive.
04a-sign.jpg
This is what happens when you take your phone on the ride
05-stealthqueue.jpg
This staff member was holding up the queue for the first ride of the day
06-zoom.jpg
07-nemesis.jpg
After Stealth, we hit Nemesis Inferno
08-loop.jpg
Vertical loop goodness through the trees!
08-colossus.jpg
Next credit was Colossus
09-heartline.jpg
There is a lot of "hang time" in the heartline rolls
10-chris.jpg
I thought Chris was already married
42-throne.jpg
Is this supposed to be some sort of "gay marriage"?
11-throne.jpg
Kids are great for getting those hard to get credits, and getting to propose to each other too. She said no! (Great idea Chris!)
12-x.jpg
More Intamin goodness. I wonder of people flying out from Heathrow can see an "X" on the roof of building in the background
14-poopdeck.jpg
Ha ha ha! It says "poop"
15-chris.jpg
Being in the Navy, Chris is right at home
16-plane.jpg
New for 2006: It's 9/11 - The Ride
17-rush.jpg
Rush is an S&S Screaming Swing. They were only running one side, and the program was weak (at least compared to the ones at Wild Adventures), but we had our express passes.
18-buffet.jpg
Good news: The buffet price has been reduced today
19-pepsi.jpg
Bad news: Well, there is no bad news!
20-coke.jpg
These people have the right idea
21-rocks.jpg
The signs really help to prevent people from climbing (or putting wet clothes) on the rock
22-carousel.jpg
Pay no attention to the people on the ride; the Carousel will be open later
23-swatter.jpg
The Sky Swatter was another S&S flat ride
24-flume.jpg
The flume was the same as it was seven years ago, only this time it didn't keep breaking down
35-flume.jpg
This is the "Wildest ride in the wilderness". At least when Robb is on board.
36-wetness.jpg
You don't get very wet on this water ride
37-accident.jpg
Somebody had an accident on the flume ride
25-dip.jpg
The flume has a double dip drop
26-gap.jpg
The park has a train ride to the "Thorpe Farm"
27-dummies.jpg
These are the poor dummies that have to ride the coasters every morning
28-train.jpg
29-cows.jpg
The farm has cows, sheep, and goats
30-park.jpg
The park skyline
31-cow.jpg
This is where McDonalds comes from. Got milk?
32-cow.jpg
We were unable to get our cow-tipping credit
33-g[.jpg
Here's one for Elissa
34-train.jpg
Since there were no donkeys, we took the train back to the park. (I unintentially caught Stealth on the top-hat while taking this shot)
38-sadandpathetic.jpg
Another ride on Colossus, this time through the "sad and pathetic" line
39-intamin.jpg
The sign of excellence
39a-pound.jpg
Somebody looks like he was pounded
40-waterrides.jpg
Back in 1999, Thorpe Park was known for its water rides. Tidal Wave was still under construction at the time
41-poundit.jpg
"What was that?"
"Some naked guy with a hat on"
"What did he do?"
"He pounded me!"
43-seat.jpg
It's an Intamin ride. Anyone can fit on one, right?
44-tpr.jpg
ERT on Nemesis and Stealth
45-cameraofdoom.jpg
So far: One stabbing, a broken Intamin Rocket, a minor B&M inverted breakdown, a day without power, a dead bird...have I missed anything?
46-stealth.jpg
Sorry, you can't ride yet. Some guy just took a picture and the ride went haywire
47-launch.jpg
Zoom zoom zoom!
deadbird1.jpg
Of course, being an Intamin ride, it's not without a fatality
deadbird2.jpg
deadbird3.jpg
I wonder what's on the menu now?

If anyone is actually reading this, I'm nearly done with posting everything
01-bootoffbus.jpg
It came to the point at which Nigel slowed down to 40mph so we could boot the non add-on people off the bus
02-BSOD.jpg
OMG! It's the Blue Screen of Death (why don't they just switch to Linux?)
03-ryanair.jpg
This is our plane
04-robb.jpg
Can't think of a good caption for this.
05-seatback.jpg
The seat backs on Ryanair reminded me of the seat backs on the Vekoma Junior Inverteds
06-planepov.jpg
Exclusive Ryanair window seat POV!
07-landing.jpg
We land in the middle of nowhere. As soon as we get through customs, we see the plane take off again. I guess we're stranded now.
08-welcome.jpg
09-bus.jpg
Yay for another bridge credit
10-tollbooth.jpg
Yay for another COUNTRY credit!
11-escalator.jpg
Elissa loved the escalator ride that penetrated the Intamin ride
12-bonbon.jpg
I need to go there some day to get my Dog Fart credit
13-thrutrees.jpg
Speed Monster...through the trees!
14-hairtime.jpg
There's some "hair time" on this. Not as much as Balder though
15-buffet.jpg
When they knew Robb was coming, they upped the price of the buffet to $30
16-thunder.jpg
Thunder Coaster
17-teeny.jpg
Best ride ever!
18-dan.jpg
We actually got Dan to ride this one
19-view.jpg
The park is built on a hillside with some good views
20-powered.jpg
There is also a powered coaster for those who are sad and pathetic
21-sign.jpg
Be sure to leave your sticks and ECT in the station
22-coke.jpg
Robb paying around $3 to fuel his Coke addition
23-thundercoaster.jpg
Another shot of Thunder Coaster
24-firstdrop.jpg
The ride starts with a GCI style first drop
25-robb.jpg
What's with that sad and pathetic kid on the Frog Hopper?
26-pain1.jpg
#100! Ow ow ow!
26a-pain.jpg
Although it wasn't too bad in the magic seat
27-utgang.jpg
Does Utgang translate to "Danger: Vekoma Ride"?
28-track.jpg
29-hilly.jpg
Another shot of the park
30-thunder.jpg
Thunder Coaster is a lot of fun when it is wet
31-wetness.jpg
Is this an acceptable amount of water?
32-spin.jpg
I remember riding one of these in a fast food restaurant in Auckland
33-credit.jpg
The "realistic Arrow Ride simulator"
34-speedmonster.jpg
The Intamin curse strikes again
35-ert.jpg
We went back for ERT on Thunder
36-quality.jpg
This is why the ride is so great!
37-techsupport.jpg
"Thank you for calling Intamin technical support. Your call may be monitored for quality assurance. To speak to someone about Monorails, press one now. To speak to someone about our roller coasters press two now..."
"For assistance in buying one of our c
38-onride.jpg
39-explanation.jpg
One of the staff members explains that the balance of pressure in the tanks was off and that it would take a while to fix. At least we got the credit though
40-escalator.jpg
Next stop: Balder (and the Banana!)

I still have Liseberg to post (along with a few other things, such as some exclusive Elissa Bingo pictures), but due to the response (or rather, lack thereof) to this TR, I want to know if anyone wants me to post them.

Former captain of the Arrow bus.

People like to look at these Will, please post the rest. You got a nice Photo TR here. Just because nobody responds to them, does not mean people do not enjoy looking at them
