Day 6:

Six Flags Great Adventure.

We really liked this park quite a bit, though the weather was really crappy while we were there. The weather kept the crowds away so we did not have to get a Flash Pass/Q*bot. I got to give the park credit in that they still ran all the coasters (except Kingda Ka, and those that were closed) in the rain. We were able to earn Batman, Nitro, Skull Mountain, Blackbeard, and Medusa rather quickly (and without Flash Pass). After lunch we did then get Rolling Thunder as well as Great American Scream Machine before we called it quits for the day because the weather was simply terrible. Lucky for us we did plan an extra day for the park...just in case.

DSC07792.JPG.9c4372da05627cc3aca8268252d4d1c4.JPG

Though our hotel did have a nice Greek place to eat.

DSC07790.JPG.c3a63e072da58bd96add20dcae0adf58.JPG

No Kingda Ka credit for us today.

DSC07788.JPG.26413f0bc3d9a34b8412cbddc21bfc5a.JPG

We decided to leave the park, those cars were prety much all that was in the parking lot.

DSC07787.JPG.e2a013dd897d55c55fc094a1b7f7c78f.JPG

Though Superman got stuck for a long time. We did here some yell, "I got to go poopie!" He still hung there for another 20 minutes.

DSC07786.JPG.87d96f89a48512ca7b23bd26bbf32159.JPG

After Rolling Thunder and GASM, we went over to Superman.

DSC07784.JPG.381c9a2beee7775d8bd44037166e7cf7.JPG

We had five credits by lunch.

DSC07785.JPG.3ef488794c64f2c2e300dd01afc9ff39.JPG

We were all very hungry. Leanne also picked up a new friend for her collection.

DSC07783.JPG.e9392fb6b5c06abebdd514d62fe2bdb4.JPG

We decided to go get some lunch.

DSC07780.JPG.97d856e0bf9786a4f9a70c6a309e86a6.JPG

We spent some time in here waiting for the rain to slow down.

DSC07779.JPG.f04c793e73fc3f7e2096c58e654466b5.JPG

Awww, no western show today.

DSC07782.JPG.22984b20abac3ea3ee4a8af61c0a68ed.JPG

We got more wet during this part of the ride instead of the spash down.

DSC07781.JPG.9cdf752e5b7809f4e74d510f9ae22a88.JPG

Why not? No line and we were already soaked.

DSC07778.JPG.2f867452f398710f28cc909e0c181a42.JPG

Onto Medusa. Medusa Mining Company? Oh, that is why Medusa is in this area of the park.

DSC07777.JPG.71d7c374b58becdcf72301d1c18df4f5.JPG

While you don't see it in this picture. They were testing El Toro in the rain. That thing looks great.

DSC07776.JPG.f4c940077029c70e5d5e960f715deead.JPG

We walked over here, we left our map in the car so we just kinda wandered around the park.

DSC07774.JPG.ff815675809275e612c7225864e6a6c3.JPG

Blackbeard's Lost Treasure Train.

DSC07773.JPG.a2d75f592910f1b222182c4d6942634a.JPG

Nope, not open today.

DSC07768.JPG.1becd229dfc4e39eb8c4aeccd2129f99.JPG

Yeah we got a little bit wet.

DSC07765.JPG.8ea36df151669a9b920ed768fc9a0045.JPG

Yeah, sitting on the front row while it was raining pretty hard was a really good idea. So we rode it three times in a row.

DSC07769.JPG.74e21a907227f205b734af173a305f7c.JPG

Ok onto Nitro.

DSC07763.JPG.596c579cfb0bf8b471f7dacbf539a0eb.JPG

We all spent some time in here, we preety much got all the stains out.

DSC07764.JPG.5dba39d639b0fa546b11fdb8c56257ea.JPG

Batman made a mess of our clothes, at least the ride ops warned us.

DSC07772.JPG.d0e1d9a563a28fb0be4ace5a20609acd.JPG

First credit of the day, Batman.

DSC07762.JPG.4311ff50c4a411d07691f65371dd5407.JPG

Yeah, its a world wide celebration at Six Flags. But for 45 years??

How many Superman logos do you see here?

Day 7:

Back to Six Flags Great Adventure.

Instead of going to Dorney we decided to give SFGAdv a second try to see if we could earn those Superman, Kingda Ka, and the kiddie credit I totally forgot about. Batman & Robin: Chiller was still closed as well as the Mine Train so there was no chance for those, and yes we did miss he opening of El Toro by 3 days. It is ok though, we will most certainly make it back to this park again.

DSC07865.JPG.9b34c704d5f908610c800e7e3389fc01.JPG

Here is some of the benefits. Thanks SF Great Adventure, you rocked.

DSC07864.JPG.4ade21df303e2030d02dd87f3be84d0b.JPG

You can enjoy these benefits, for a mere $99 a person.

DSC07863.JPG.ff4b25513e6bea50dbb7cdaec4fcd16d.JPG

At least I rode The Great Gasp last year, because this was closed today.

DSC07861.JPG.db06ed594cbef0acfb2e3b020c6bce07.JPG

Pretty cool Go-Kart track, too bad it is an upcharge ride.

DSC07860.JPG.e3433ed878af4cf6d697cbd1eb111e72.JPG

Ok, this was junk.

DSC07856.JPG.9caf6a79fad72dfbeb9e786e987deffa.JPG

I posted this one for you tortoise lovers.

DSC07855.JPG.70ce3abf7a31c19cb92e181cd8d871df.JPG

Close up of Kingda Ka.

DSC07852.JPG.d77e4309cbe4f30b9d50ad35ecf4b6e6.JPG

Nice Kitty.

DSC07848.JPG.f5861918a28e3bc3a499b0e1d2a9013b.JPG

I did not think Kingda Ka operated well with a lot of water.

DSC07846.JPG.93c0045337b8c199d1775c57fbfa35a6.JPG

So did they name the coaster after the tiger, or the tiger after the coaster?

DSC07851.JPG.69938ffb5e9329007c4cc56b3d213c12.JPG

It is still running, cool!

DSC07845.JPG.98fbbeb34d91bf76f839efb2a9a99e9b.JPG

The show is about to begin.

DSC07844.JPG.ff7a7727730f530196f0b381126578ad.JPG

All about Tigers.

DSC07843.JPG.487bc25e15bf13f302f66b91682ebf06.JPG

Everyone likes Tigers! Right?

DSC07842.JPG.a5ccb6c9001211ff151870b7d1cae4d3.JPG

See, its Kingda Ka through the trees/bushes.

DSC07841.JPG.a6a8b44c8474f0b0f0b848b9b2c39b41.JPG

Yeah, this is the extent of my POV video.

DSC07840.JPG.15f9ab4ee7babfdb4cf4c270a5154c92.JPG

Weeeeee...we got the credit.

DSC07869.JPG.1113053eced717893551793f4276a432.JPG

Do you think we got the credit? You decide.

DSC07837.JPG.a81721ac08983ee1d69af5b710b1611c.JPG

Oh this looks good.

DSC07836.JPG.d46d1e76359d50fc81a3f19767ae8894.JPG

Oh please let us ride!

DSC07839.JPG.40aeb6d0e9fc428c493205dc5f0e6164.JPG

We then walked through this gate.

DSC07834.JPG.16427024d850f08211b298bb32cfe3ce.JPG

We proceeded to get a KK ticket, because they load the loading platform as groups instead of a constant line.

DSC07858.JPG.2ee6d991f829589270e2ca460b9fc29c.JPG

Since the rain stopped, we walked over to this area.

DSC07833.JPG.e194b95c028164ac356c90f170f1f038.JPG

Instead of a gum wall or tree, they have a gum platform. Yeah we got the credit, only one more S:UF credit to go now.

DSC07832.JPG.1dc0028ee4faed164d6112ab349ecbce.JPG

Cool, they got Superman running.

DSC07831.JPG.3a990ca36420bffdda996b337c092d84.JPG

Ok, where to now?

DSC07830.JPG.0f9a66761c192b9675148b40d540e69c.JPG

The ride-ops were nice enough to allow us to ride.

DSC07817.JPG.693589dfe837738b3531c66fcc2bf4db.JPG

OK, time to get the kiddie credit.

DSC07825.JPG.6cd8b312060cd516e1ae2e9bbc6a396f.JPG

It ended up being my favorite coaster in the park.

DSC07822.JPG.e7f35f4ab9f5154952ffaf29c9df6e6e.JPG

We liked Nitro so much, we decided to try it without rain.

DSC07827.JPG.7074887ad9675ac65786d5ee5ad1a83d.JPG

LOL! Skull Mountain.

DSC07815.JPG.041d76548b05a19668a70ac66fd0c1d1.JPG

Yeah we already know.

DSC07814.JPG.87f28ebfe8ff03bbba3f37b0490a7e60.JPG

Let's Go!

DSC07812.JPG.50c2a8e7d993be38176738ab23b25786.JPG

It looks like they adjusted Tweety's costume a bit.

DSC07811.JPG.94e870bcfc218c35446ba40da7720acc.JPG

The Looney Toons did the song and dance thingy.

DSC07809.JPG.59d5beb77f94aa8a508c9c993ed64fe7.JPG

Then we sang the national anthem with Slyvester.

DSC07807.JPG.3249789cd34a084e4383606f496ebb35.JPG

It was almost 10:00.

DSC07805.JPG.fdb820db2c8e0079de39163700ac4153.JPG

Superdork was doing his thing.

DSC07800.JPG.91b63eff90ea6e72bfd841f421e563db.JPG

Sob! No Batman & Robin credits this trip.

DSC07803.JPG.3a75947ba6963f745902ec5c00f7e133.JPG

The rain really slowed down by this time.

DSC07799.JPG.cc32f237b4a98107104a912139c9b502.JPG

Batbear.

DSC07797.JPG.238cf6b317b2df2e408b803f37bb79f2.JPG

Awwwww...I miss Pedroland.

DSC07796.JPG.16216b6f24941b4b1771f490db215eb8.JPG

Still about 15 minutes until park opening, so we walked in here.

DSC07795.JPG.de828ada48f9dd3abcd21819130b92fb.JPG

It does not look very good again this day, but its not raining as hard.

DSC07794.JPG.19b7c15b821b44567409e51ae116d854.JPG

It was still a bit rainy when we first got there. Rain = No Kingda Ka.

DSC07793.JPG.28ad5e8a251c8add654a482ea6e0e437.JPG

Nope, not even testing when we got there.

It looks like you were really lucky to get on KK with the way the weather was in addition to the regular chance of KK having non rain problems. It's too bad you didn't get to Dorney especially because even with just doing the twilight admission (or whatever it is called), you could probably get all 8 credits there (everything but the Little Laser which is strictly under 54" only) in less than 2 - 2 1/2 hours.

Its cool, because we went to another park during the twilight hours instead, which totally rocked. I will catch Dorney whenever we hit New Jersey again. Just gives us something else to look foward to. Also the weather in that area seemed like it was pretty bad as well. We were not sure if Dorney runs its rides in the rain.

Yeah after watching the Tiger show we left New Jersey to hit Hershey Park in PA. We got there to experience the magical time at the park, which is known as 6:00-10:00 PM. We were able to earn every credit in the park, except Roller Soaker which we got the next day, in a little over two hours. The park was very empty and the weather was just about perfect. I did not take any pictures or video at this time, but I sure did the next day and here they are!

DSC07943.JPG.dbeeda4b55f6cbac9fedf59859e704ce.JPG

We want to ride some coasters now, even freaky ones like Storm Runner.

DSC07940.JPG.2ff9fe130f9d715aa7ac1657303c033a.JPG

Oh yeah, we are at Hershey's, I forgot.

DSC07934.JPG.5ab51f5556b15ddbcdd8667b8f3d0603.JPG

Anyone know what this building is used for?

DSC07937.JPG.2737dfd2cc8275b01b3b2eece8ffe066.JPG

I guess the fur coat of this Buffalo is now on someone's floor.

DSC07930.JPG.f1f806af505e523ae005ad27adb2f63f.JPG

Yeah its good to follow to rules.

DSC07935.JPG.77e8c2392e3e950efa7b0a6ebd881b6d.JPG

Yeah, it had a few animals.

DSC07931.JPG.545a609e2ad563eea98c353fc61ca24c.JPG

The zoo was medium sized.

DSC07926.JPG.73edd59f0fae9f491bc9f4009d32a720.JPG

Here we go again.

DSC07921.JPG.b1658a5b6a8628f7fdc40476d1486f6f.JPG

You have to leave HersheyPark and cross this bridge to go to the zoo, but its included in the ticket price.

DSC07942.JPG.15238382a4c9413d38b1a430de8b4c72.JPG

As well as a zoo, which is something to do when all the rides are down.

DSC07916.JPG.c95280b0b45b913b2a0ed7fd98cf7108.JPG

Hershey Park has all kinds of theming and stores.

DSC07912.JPG.3c20eea7784065080582fe5a5af3a095.JPG

Yep, even Storm Runner.

DSC07910.JPG.cde53a5e622243981638b64622a22ee0.JPG

While we did get to ride Roller Soaker, they closed all the rides soon after due to lightning.

DSC07909.JPG.76defcfdd36a4727336cc171584cdf06.JPG

We headed over to the water ride area.

DSC07985.JPG.df62b5bfd25647b612521bdf537bd770.JPG

See.

DSC07905.JPG.1069be127500ddb06aac1f706bc35abe.JPG

Yeah, this was a must do ride.

DSC07904.JPG.e352143626addcb51e2901b811f0b0cd.JPG

Hello Mr. Hershey.

DSC07903.JPG.db0d10e3a15aaca4042c43d5624a908c.JPG

Yeah, it is still there.

DSC07902.JPG.5e7b1aa9a1a8515770f4e41139c313f6.JPG

Seems like a nice park already.

DSC07901.JPG.8bfe4bebcb6840857ef7c38aee51f02f.JPG

Yeah, we are tall enough to ride all the rides, even though we earned all the credits last night. (Well, we still needed Roller Soaker.)

DSC07900.JPG.1895563e418ba067b8377ad43e1be897.JPG

Ok, onto Hershey Park.

DSC07898.JPG.9c92115432504e1392f0c4fafcca5f12.JPG

We got candy at the end of the ride.

DSC07895.JPG.1ec6f3a722b486fec8895f12abb678f1.JPG

They need to start making more Peppermint Patties.

Moooo!

DSC07891.JPG.5a9ad2daa5e352b02dc20914bb7cd194.JPG

Well since it is now rodents instead of donkeys.

DSC07889.JPG.56024a47bdbe37dde13019e3c424cce4.JPG

For $10, you can work in the fake chocolate factory.

Everyone loves chocolate.

DSC07886.JPG.c7a39b676df7e9c2700f9c9ecf168e92.JPG

Yeah, its not the real chocolate factory.

DSC07899.JPG.4740db08309a975700a261def773ed4a.JPG

There is the newly revamped dark ride here.

Our first stop of the day, Chocolate World.

Yeah we took the tram into the park.

Through the parking booths we go.

DSC07877.JPG.160956af3839a1dea399882f8dc15e51.JPG

But, there you go.

DSC07874.JPG.00eecb3bd979b63e90e59c7db5f2d61b.JPG

Yeah, you would not expect a park in this area.

DSC07873.JPG.b06277f918bb9d7dcbe805581f36d14e.JPG

We were really happy with this hotel at exit #72.

Yeah, I finally got around to wearing this one.

Though the coaster was a trimmed too much.

DSC07963.JPG.73d01beddefd015f60a6345e480c2806.JPG

Here is the lift hill.

See, there it is.

DSC07968.JPG.bf6ea965ef4dd7d52e77dd9e9ae5f84a.JPG

Yeah, though it only has one vertical loop.

DSC08000.JPG.ce3ffa726009b5eab3afe62c6a8da92b.JPG

Ok, one final Great Bear photo.

DSC07918.JPG.e95653350786f695a14d3ffbe96ee57a.JPG

I thought it was strange that Hersheypark was selling cars as well.

DSC07964.JPG.cf63e0e033899ac663b250e5b066b497.JPG

Though it does have a vertical loop.

DSC07998.JPG.a411a47a8ca66946c4c110376f41f732.JPG

Even in the back row.

DSC07994.JPG.872a8ad2372078cb35aab70c041fbd57.JPG

Not too intense with minimal forces.

DSC07959.JPG.1d9979a40812c557ffa9b1df47f22e50.JPG

Yeah, its pretty much your "family inverted B&M" coaster.

DSC07945.JPG.05538826a0a2e5bb96c45af7eb394725.JPG

It is Great Bear.

DSC07955.JPG.3050c942798af3a8cf21db681cc0a02d.JPG

Look, there are more coasters down there.

DSC07954.JPG.9d80fc570a7e5c4c02937a16ed6bf22a.JPG

You get a nice view of the park from up here.

DSC07953.JPG.e86ec834dc479c65bc596f115bc0b0a4.JPG

OK, sure.

DSC07951.JPG.5799f338c15f5f3518519fcb14ea0622.JPG

So it is called, "The Kissing Tower".

DSC07947.JPG.92f616a26333c1a6dcaaa55c7e337e02.JPG

So we waited.

DSC07946.JPG.0af06b656c64cdaf6d62fea4d6994053.JPG

The observation tower ride was still closed.

DSC07944.JPG.6d5e7ea0530da8c4b6519942e782bd76.JPG

I smell chocolate.

I don't know if I skipped over it, but there was no mention of the Avalanche at PKD. Did you ride it? Those Mack bobsleds are quite rare---in fact, the one at PKD is the only one in North America.

And, by the way, great Photo TR!

More Hersheypark.

Bye Hersheypark, we liked you quite a bit.

DSC08029.JPG.dab0c3ca0bf377463b75a7a97d35818f.JPG

Any idea why they have these seatbelts connected to the queue railing?

DSC08026.JPG.3d5ca32b00c33cb5aec9c470f8588f01.JPG

While no airtime of these, they dueling aspect was really well done.

DSC08022.JPG.379b4e78654f135c044edfdeaa68b776.JPG

Yeah the racers were a lot of fun. It was our first GCII with Millennium Flyer trains.

They keep the ride moving at all times, amazing operations on this one, plus the top section is trimless.

DSC08011.JPG.b3c190ba89cee99eabcf4378d236420e.JPG

The Wild Mouse kicked butt.

DSC08007.JPG.abd17219d7ccfc0c9b83a26f967eb6d3.JPG

Yeah, another flyers credit for us.

DSC08010.JPG.9d64eea704d9f11214862a33abe1fa49.JPG

I wonder how many people come to HB to burn calories.

DSC08009.JPG.7e2cab9854aabf1fc9f23b13b99fc346.JPG

The track layout certainly was very unique.

DSC08004.JPG.a48cc086c366e8f8fa1266e7466031c9.JPG

While on the short side, Storm Runner was an intense crazy fun ride.

DSC08006.JPG.c60932a5dfce4c14b364344d9ff578cc.JPG

OK, the rain stopped and they are running Storm Runner again.

DSC07986.JPG.40b9e85ec6c72e778897352bb01509ea.JPG

I liked how the loading station sloped downward.

DSC07971.JPG.07955b62b007e67f2357f295f7eaae00.JPG

The Comet was my third favorite wooden coaster of the trip.

DSC07980.JPG.e77ff0847bf18a942000839767d4db90.JPG

It started to rain yet again, I am glad we already have all the coaster credits.

1941329225_Resse_5__0003.jpg.6f69dcb79ac8605f462013c597b2203a.jpg

They gave away full sized candy at the end of the ride.

36286447_Resse_5__0002.jpg.2eac140000bfd384708dfd3ffdefbe3b.jpg

Check out the video I posted at the start of the Hershey section of this Photo TR.

1168621523_Resse_5__0001.jpg.4daefc63b24611d5981ba68f5968ce8c.jpg

You get to shoot a bunch of stuff.

2004732880_Resse_4__0001.jpg.9eaab844478b38b337060922d42baca1.jpg

The chocolate and peanut butter teams ride in different cars, but they are connected.

DSC07974.JPG.838b55db4c3378058722f9bb50ca5ac6.JPG

Oh yeah!

DSC07972.JPG.faa7a4325b13835944c654702d252ef5.JPG

OK, time to experience the new dark ride.

DSC07969.JPG.86175e6900144fa085a885dec8050e54.JPG

Yeah, they got swings.

I don't know if I skipped over it, but there was no mention of the Avalanche at PKD. Did you ride it? Those Mack bobsleds are quite rare---in fact, the one at PKD is the only one in North America.

And, by the way, great Photo TR!

Eric

Yeah we did, it actually was Leanne's 2nd favorite coaster on the trip. I just forgot to take pictures of it, though I got plenty of video.

I always assumed those buckles were there so people could practice how to buckle their belts before they get on the ride. Of course thinking about it that way seems kinda silly.

Do all riders get candy after the new dark ride, or only the winning car?

Half of me wants to watch the video, but half of me wants to wait until I ride it myself this summer.

OK last park of the trip. Yes you guessed it, Knoebels.

DSC08096.JPG.8698859f5ac9f91503a1aadfb5479ef7.JPG

Its also right next to the newest ride at Knoebels.

DSC08056.JPG.adf8e6cf82219b2c9dc8a5c39119755f.JPG

It should be a cool, fun ride.

DSC08057.JPG.154cd5df767612aa4e91783744ab04fe.JPG

The have a bunch of pieces ready to be placed on the main supports.

DSC08069.JPG.e0d49f63a20a46c3d55abd2cc97715fb.JPG

How along has it been since a Flying Turns ran in the United States?

DSC08067.JPG.1c272bb636a795203412b562753f8077.JPG

They have made some progress on the ride, but they still have more to do.

DSC08068.JPG.0a5ebe2cfa7ff5cdeebcd709390cff80.JPG

Even though it was a Saturday, they were working on the new ride.

DSC08066.JPG.e61a29a6123d656f02ae2914054a4c01.JPG

Yeah, Knoebels is building a new ride.

DSC08065.JPG.0393303fbd6624aa056fd208b1e3ace2.JPG

The Phoenix instantly became my #1 coaster.

DSC08064.JPG.95e650587c1ef7821d50b804debfad58.JPG

Phoenix shook Leanne up quite a bit, she found the amount of ejector airtime very scary.

DSC08062.JPG.dac3a646ca6f30e97082ab880961acc8.JPG

Yeah we sat in the front row for our ride. No seat belts with buzz bars equals extreme ejector airtime.

DSC08061.JPG.370d6d7e3f5fa5735fd87e133e08d56d.JPG

So that is what the big chain lift wheel looks like.

DSC08060.JPG.6b4ec3b6c1ef1df8934d840d035231fa.JPG

It seems so innocent as it leaves the station.

DSC08059.JPG.9eb4897a93b0d0eb5fd7b8768d5b56da.JPG

Phoenix was the very last coaster of the trip.

DSC08058.JPG.30912bf9a98f977c4613d81460301e7b.JPG

OMG! Nothing prepared us for this one.

DSC08053.JPG.fd5be946706dcf8d55472d34ce201cc1.JPG

OK, where to now?

DSC08054.JPG.e16d8c7b381103aa5a299bd390fd1579.JPG

Certainly one of the better coasters of the trip.

DSC08052.JPG.d0c2a26b9004692e578df2513a729dc0.JPG

This coaster was a lot of fun.

DSC08051.JPG.d5c0260b359dcae2d62bd2024602e173.JPG

They added another train once the line got long.

DSC08050.JPG.74574e35a8f143a674ff30b0f734cb28.JPG

2nd credit of the day, Twister.

DSC08048.JPG.fc2a973aa9fd05ba5f1b4144c7ff2597.JPG

Pets are allowed in the park.

DSC08047.JPG.76ede6328df59b6acdc84a2508091d08.JPG

They had these signs about the '96 flood all over the park. I guess it was pretty bad.

DSC08045.JPG.eeda822f68ba4ad365331656c3458566.JPG

I had no idea that these things could create airtime, lol!

DSC08044.JPG.fc6b7cbfc0fc05b08d810c5d1c1e1670.JPG

First ride of the day.

DSC08046.JPG.0a34e438bf6756212d39fa3498c903df.JPG

With tickets in hand, we were ready to ride some rides.

DSC08133.JPG.a90907edb560e66795b35c58ece351e3.JPG

You get all kinds of park information at this place.

DSC08042.JPG.e101af1a612b3699b9aaff36fd1f510a.JPG

While free, it takes a lot longer for the tram to get to the front of the park than walking.

DSC08041.JPG.7646b87e99aa71d7977d3f50d6cafc6a.JPG

Yeah, there were a lot of people at Knoebels that day.

DSC08040.JPG.fb95bddbe98c02581fea546ff3f1036b.JPG

So that's how they are able to get all that wood for the park's rides.

DSC08039.JPG.3a9365bdf1a224b8d7d1e98c64f000a0.JPG

Yep, only 3 more miles till Knoebels.

DSC08038.JPG.ce1ce79b8494898358ab296ccc4c63cf.JPG

Yes, it is downtown Elysburg.

DSC08036.JPG.658d6849b96d2a69ce67b72da27bba2f.JPG

But if you are not into scenic routes, Just take 54 off of I-81.

DSC08035.JPG.591d92c6c7723c8403738b69ae362287.JPG

Another small town on the way.

DSC08034.JPG.dd2483fdbd68ba6a91d5347d1279019e.JPG

While it is in the middle of nowhere, with good planning its easy to find.

DSC08030.JPG.7642ea1c92664d7e33c688aea217cd4f.JPG

Yeah we took the long way around because I always wanted to visit Frackville.

More Knoebels.

DSC08136.JPG.f23a0b30511a5945abc64111875c802c.JPG

Yeah, someday we hope to return.

DSC08135.JPG.a0512910a03ed1ede2d384a9958ae39a.JPG

Yeah, its the wooden rodent.

DSC08134.JPG.6d609f35cc267b99d136f56097852d26.JPG

It certainly was a great park to finish the trip on.

DSC08130.JPG.43f6fa15675e3e12fc7308c28e55dbf9.JPG

Yeah, Knoebels certainly has a lot of charm.

DSC08129.JPG.730def6772767ac7f5eb49177808ab8f.JPG

This was a nice ride, it is also the most expensive at $3.

DSC08128.JPG.3965195de869259f313d205e4d3bdc18.JPG

Yep, we are tall enough.

DSC08124.JPG.1d67a4be841f43447976a219a880bc6f.JPG

Yummy!

DSC08123.JPG.ea2cc8c1257178e346e2f4996d1dd7c6.JPG

Ramming speed!!

DSC08121.JPG.3c85623448324340ff413f57f813566c.JPG

The water takes you right through the middle of the kiddie coaster's layout.

DSC08120.JPG.91a9d5be6293b38d4297c0aa6a089994.JPG

Yep.

DSC08119.JPG.52629d10c9c5cd7c90d9a47e9656205c.JPG

There is a surprise under this bridge.

DSC08116.JPG.0fba392785078e66c0a145a2aee82e28.JPG

Time for the motor boat ride.

DSC08115.JPG.e04edad87575fa7b34d515be603a4d85.JPG

Plus you got to duel other trains.

DSC08114.JPG.bd79c02ec14d734010b0eaea2c79de2c.JPG

Lots of woods.

DSC08113.JPG.f928546dcc6e7675c6b15f2d2e1f4f7e.JPG

The track is 1.2 miles long.

DSC08112.JPG.0fe29281eb6c6c61e2dea25482e5fabe.JPG

While not a steam train, this one had a much better track layout.

DSC08110.JPG.58544cab677e1e2daac796560228dc49.JPG

Ok, it was time for the other train ride.

DSC08107.JPG.df493751f085dfe1e11ce9c1299063a8.JPG

This is where the music comes from.

DSC08108.JPG.a16dfb565baf079d494369696420655a.JPG

No brass ring for any of us.

DSC08106.JPG.d6100dcefab7cc561edf34b4c220dee1.JPG

Dang it, they all look normal to me. Oh well.

DSC08105.JPG.36e4f44b6f893869f8107dcbb58000ee.JPG

So will we get lucky and find the brass ring?

DSC08097.JPG.b59d221854bb743225352a1cb30c73c6.JPG

This sign leads you right to the brass ring carousel.

DSC08103.JPG.5109837fe7ecc8d96bad4e4228ef30d3.JPG

Lots of singing and dancing.

DSC08101.JPG.8aa296e67b8ca04c1a5f05df491e2340.JPG

We also found a rodent.

DSC08094.JPG.5a04607835be4bf071b19fd89ad72a92.JPG

It took a little while, but we did find it.

DSC08090.JPG.3138c0ded8b894cbacade58038253a64.JPG

If you can't snap these, there is no hope for you.

DSC08092.JPG.e2c7b41e7e292e1c3fa2572631200252.JPG

Oh yeah, they have my favorite flat ride, Flyers.

DSC08089.JPG.a619b050a0405014aa41b7fc58464d60.JPG

These things hit hard, it was also fun to spin out other people.

DSC08088.JPG.e516871d45d61dc5a98af32e9b52d16f.JPG

Yeah, these certainly deserves all the praise.

DSC08087.JPG.0bf6b935d2fd21e63928883db1f52a31.JPG

Oh yeah, this park has amazing skooters.

DSC08085.JPG.42d2c3e4a6534a568942bf155db27c03.JPG

It also went through some woods.

DSC08084.JPG.f232e7da098f9d36d7f2e53bc38f064e.JPG

Yeah it was a real working steam train.

DSC08079.JPG.26b7e2bec8fed5ea050fed35ffe478f3.JPG

Here are the seats.

DSC08078.JPG.7da4442cb66493ac9605214c72dc26bb.JPG

This was the first train ride of the day.

DSC08077.JPG.9dc1cbfd06b8fc455746008ddf5301ae.JPG

The have a really old kiddie carousel.

DSC08076.JPG.8e4791609ce0071ed7f29130a472df02.JPG

There are quiet a few one-of-a-kind shops at Knoebels.

DSC08075.JPG.1e9375031b02af6851451691fa2624c5.JPG

We thought the pizza was quite tasty.

DSC08074.JPG.3d9cca1bdeb0058716e3dc0f710b0cf0.JPG

Time for some lunch, we were hungry.

DSC08070.JPG.ff08b3a35790ff5b922ee21317a17b5a.JPG

Yeah it was pretty cool.

DSC08073.JPG.5e54451efea646752eaa67a71cdeb8b3.JPG

This ride had some length to it, how did they fit it all into this building?

DSC08072.JPG.389ddc075a765a8073e89cf37d3c7c30.JPG

Yeah, it was time for the dark ride.

Ok, so I earned 46 new credits, and this is what I thought of them.

Busch Gardens Europe.

Credit #61 Loch Ness Monster. Pretty good, especially for its age. The helix in the dark was a real surprise.

Credit #62 Big Bad Wolf. My favorite coaster at BGE, its also really great at night.

Credit #63 Alpengeist. Very tall and fast. Other than the first drop its not very intense. While the theming was top notch, its just an above average B&M invert.

Credit #64 Apollo's Chariot. The setting of this coaster was amazing. Not my favorite B&M Hyper, (Goliath is) but we especially enjoyed our front row ride.

Paramount's King's Dominion

Credit #65 Hypersonic XLC. The launch was really great as well as the airtime hill. The rest of the ride was a bit rough.

Credit #66 Rebel Yell. A decent out-and-back older style dueling woodie.

Credit #67 Ricochet. Not my favorite mouse because of the trims, but it does have that unique drop at the start of the ride.

Credit #68 Hurler. I really don't like either Hurler, though this one was better than Carowinds's version.

Credit #69 Italian Job Turbo Coaster. Great family launched coaster with some nice theming.

Credit #70 Volcano, The Blast Coaster. I really liked this one, it also was my very first Intamin coaster.

Credit #71 Avalanche. Much more fun than I expected. I understand its the only Mack Bobsled coaster in the U.S.

Credit #72 Anaconda. The first drop that takes you underwater was fun, but I really did not care much for this one.

Credit #73 Scooby-Doo's Ghoster Coaster. While it is a junior wooden coaster, it was my favorite woodie in the park.

Credit #74 Shockwave. The Togo Death Machine (My first). 2nd worst coaster on the trip. The first drop and vertical loop were fine, the rest was not.

Credit #75 Grizzly. I really did not care much for the old Grizzly, sorry.

Six Flags America

Credit #76 Batwing For some strange reason I like Vekoma Flying Dutchman coasters. I thought this one was better than the Borg/Stealth one.

Credit #77 Wild One This one was my 2nd favorite woodie on the trip. The coaster was running really great, plus some great airtime can be had in the front row.

Credit #78 Two Face: The Flip Side It was a pretty fun Vekoma Intertigo coaster. Kinda fun to try to have a staring contest on this one.

Credit #79 Roar It was pretty good, a few good moments but nothing really special.

Credit #80 Mind Eraser Hands down the worst coaster I have ridden so far. A really crappy Vekoma SLC.

Credit #81 The Great Chase A small Kiddie coaster, kinda rough for us big people but good for a laugh.

Credit #82 Superman - Ride of Steel. While it is a good ride, this coaster seems to be falling apart. They had a lot of problems with it while we were there.

Six Flags Great Adventure

Credit #83 Batman: The Ride. I always liked these smaller intense B&M inverts.

Credit #84 Nitro. I really like this one, probably my favorite steel on the trip.

Credit #85 SKull Mountain. LOL!!!

Credit #86 Blackbeard's Lost Treasure Train. A decent mid-sized kiddie coaster. Nothing really special.

Credit #87 Medusa. The world's first B&M floorless. I like Kraken much better.

Credit #88 Rolling Thunder. Nothing special about this woodie IMO.

Credit #89 Great America Scream Machine. Ummmm, junk.

Credit #90 Road Runner Railway. Its the same exact model as the Great Chase at SFA.

Credit #91 Superman--Ultimate Flight. I now find that I can handle the pretzel loops better now, though that element is still intense.

Credit #92 Kingda Ka. Fun coaster, though the launch is not as intense as Hypersonic's.

Hersheypark

#93 Sidewinder Not the best boomerang I have been on, kinda made me dizzy for some reason.

#94 Storm Runner This was fun and totally messed up. I wish it was longer though.

#95 Trailblazer Ummmmmm......Kids would like it.

#96 Great Bear B&M tried to do something a little different with the start of the ride, but still nothing really great.

#97 Sooperdooperlooper Damn trimmed Schwarzy....

#98 Comet This was running really great when we rode it, we liked it a lot.

#99 Wildcat Actually this turned out better than I thought it would. We liked it quite a bit, especially the first drop.

#100 Wild Mouse My favorite mouse coaster so far, the top half was trimless.

#101-102 Lightning Racers While no airtime is to be had on these, the dueling aspect was very well done and fun.

#103 Roller Soaker Always a lot of fun, especially for the people below you...

Knoebels

#104 High Speed Thrill Coaster Surprisingly fun Kiddie coaster with some quick short airtime.

#105 Twister A good solid fun wooden coaster.

#106 Phoenix My new #1 coaster (Both wood and steel). The amount of ejector airtime was a real surprise. You almost fear for your life on this one....
