PKI Jizzman
Phoenix is legit! It's really wild in the rain, too. It's amazing how it's so consistent - first rides of the day or last of the night it's fantastic.

Taylor Finn
Hello! I went to PPP in 2017, couldn’t make it last year. Tried to reach out to Knoebels to confirm some details but they couldn’t confirm one way or another whether Club TPR was still an approved enthusiast group for the event. Can anyone shed light on this?

Tried to reach out to Knoebels to confirm some details but they couldn’t confirm one way or another whether Club TPR was still an approved enthusiast group for the event. Can anyone shed light on this? I have not heard anything from them one way or another. I don't see why we wouldn't be an approved group as we have been in the past. Taylor Finn
^Yesh, I figured as such! I’ll register and it should all be a okay! They didn’t post a list on the Facebook event like they’ve done in years past, just said like ‘card-carrying member of an approved enthusiast group’ or something. Thanks Robb! coneyislandchris
^ Just to confirm, Theme Park Review is listed as one of the approved enthusiast groups on the drop-down menu when you go to register for the Phunfest event on their website. Taylor Finn
^Oh. Yeah, I didn't actually follow through with the registration process because I didn't see anything listed like in year's past. But now I am seeing us mentioned, so we're all good. Thanks for that! Looking forward to the event.

JG-77
^ I somehow missed it, glad you enjoyed your visit! Don't think I've seen too many photos from the arcade, so I liked seeing that. For future photo TR's, I'd recommend putting more comments underneath the photos, since that's a great place to talk about some of the more specific details on how your day went. coasterbill
^ Agreed. Thanks for sharing your trip report. It looks like you had a great time. Edited September 30, 2019 by coasterbill
coneyislandchris
Wife update! (For anyone still following this saga of my wife who's afraid of coasters/heights, that is.) Â This past weekend at this year's Phunfest, she finally bucked up and went for her first ride on Phoenix (or, as my daughter has taken to calling it as of late, "the trampoline coaster"). Managed to talk her into it by telling her the drop was only 2 feet higher than Jack Rabbit's at Kennywood, which she did last weekend. Super happy to finally get all four of us on at the same time! She denies making any noise whatsoever, but she let out yelps over every last hump in that airtime buffet. Â It was a great weekend, and I'm sure everyone else who was there will put up full reports with pics at some point. But honestly, it's Knoebels. What more needs to be said? Canobie Coaster
I really need to make it to Phunfest one of these years.
Taylor Finn
^Well that's weird. I just posted a report. Â https://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1923328#p1923328 Â Glad she braved Phoenix and ya'll had a nice time. We did, too!
DILinator
I was very seriously looking at finally going to PPP this year, but it just wouldn't quite work out, unfortunately... However, I'm am absolutely planning on making it out to Knoebels finally next year, if not for PPP, just for a regular day there! It's definitely more than time! coasterbill
Knoebels is doing Knoebels things and re-tracking butter smooth rides because they're awesome. Â Â Facebook
CenturyFlyer
Has Flying Turns ever been re-tracked? Were the old versions of this ride ever even re-tracked? Â This is so cool, though!
operative_me
God I love this park so much. If it wasn't for this site, I might have never got to visit. I had so much fun there last year, I wish I could have spent 2 days. Â My Dad rode the Flying Turns at Euclid Beach when he was a kid, I need to get him out there in 2020. He'd love it. 5-6 hours from Cleveland but I think he'd find the trip worth it.
A.J.
Perhaps they're re-profiling the last turn to make the "bump" at the end a little bit smoother.
coasterbill
Sometimes when you’ve already re-tracked the entire ride including the station and lift hill because you’re just that awesome and you’re bored I guess you re-track the exit ramp
JG-77
Sweet! I doubt I can contain my excitement at walking across this new exist ramp in the future! I imagine it will go something like

Canobie Coaster
Knoebels is hinting on Facebook that one of their rides may not be returning next year. Â Any guesses? I'm thinking it's probably a flat. My best guess is that it could be the Italian Trapeze since I have seen it dismantled or closed on my past few visits. Or, they could be do the same bait-and-switch that they've done before - remove a ride, yes, but install an identical new ride in its place. Taylor Finn
1001 Nacht would seem a reasonable choice. Not open consistently, kinda doesn't get the same attention as some other flats. There aren't really any rides that I feel are actual contenders that I would care too too much about.
ytterbiumanalyst
One thing that charging per ride does for a park is that it basically guarantees a popular ride will never be removed, since the more popular it is, the more money it makes. Rides with huge downtime are the ones to look at, since not only does it cost money to fix, but they lose money every day the ride is down. A park like Six Flags is only going to lose money on downtime if the ride is high profile enough to keep people away.
