Fire at Kings Island??

Postby Kumba9 » Sun Jun 04, 2006 5:34 pm

Here is a report from local media outlet:

"A fire scare shuts down a ride Sunday afternoon at Kings Island. Park officials say two guests reported a smell of smoke on the Son of Beast ride. There was no sign of fire.. but firefighters were called as a precaution. The ride was inspected, and no source of smoke was found. The ride was operational by 5:35 Sunday afternoon."

I'm sure some enthusiasts out there wished SOB had caught on fire (lol), but at least it wasn't serious and no guests injured.

The first, the last, and forevermore

I dont see why everybody hates SOB. I rode it last summer and I liked it. It was very smooth in the front row and provided a very intence ride.

I'll have red wine with my slice of donkey.

I remember Grizzly at PKD shutting down for a "smoke" smell once, but nobody saw any sign of fire. A maintenance guy came and pulled out a smoldering T-Shirt from under one of the wheels, it was pretty interesting.

If a SOB catches on fire, and everyone is around to watch it, is the only sounds heard clapping and cheering?

Note to self: get bigger magnifying glass for the next time I'm up in the Eiffel Tower.
All clear....

Dispatch, enjoy your ride.
