JT325
^I'm really not sure of the details, it's all fuzzy. But I do know that if a park really wants a ride, or a ride part - brand new and identical to the originals, they can get them. It costs money, but it can happen. As for the carny aesthetic you mention, I agree partly, but that can turn to awesomeness and *charm* with nice fencing or a little scenery/greenery. It's all in the presentation. I've seen total carnival rides look great in a park (Bay Beach, Knoebels, Indiana Beach (pre-2009)); I've also seen them look junky/carny (think large circle loop). LegendLover
Holiday World posted some photos of the construction of the new Merry Marketplace on Facebook earlier. It looks good so far! I'm so glad that they decided to do this update. The old Kringle's Cafe did look pretty dated and in need of an update. Not only will this provide more options in a more modern (and more festive) setting, but it will also provide a large capacity place to go when the temperature gets too high or if it gets rainy in the middle of the day. I like that they've been doing a rotation of additions and renovations to revitalize the different sections of the park over the past couple years: 2014 and 2015 brought something new to Thanksgiving, 2016 brought a huge update on Legend, 2017 brought a new ride to Fourth of July, 2018 brought an update to the water park, and 2019 will be bringing a GREAT renovation to Christmas. Midgetman82
I certainly welcome the renovation too. Looks like there's gonna be plenty more space than before, and I'm certainly looking forward to it with the new food and drink offerings (and the coffee, can't forget about that). The media nerd in me also appreciates the presentation of the 360 video. Can't wait to be back in the park.
JT325
^Looking great! They really go all-out on these general all-around improvement things, I'm always impressed.
pianojohn
Just saw a blog post from Holiday World about their new tshirt design. Anyone see a problem with this?
ZeroGravity55
I recall from one of their podcasts that the guy in charge of their merchandise came from Cedar Point.
DBJ
Hmm, regarding the T-shirt design. Might be just a tad "adult". Sure it will be a big seller though!
djcoastermark
^ I don't get the adult part. It looks like the characters for the kids to me. What am I missing ?

prozach626
Same. I can't put my finger on theme park merchandise being adult oriented, in general.

JT325
Looks like a friendly tribute "hello friend" sort of thing to Cedar Point. Very nice!
ratdogg68
Yeah, I have that cup from Cedar Point. Is a little too much of A CP reminder, for Holiday World to be promoting, But the GP won't recognize that.
prozach626
I think 90% of coaster fans won't catch it.
JT325
^No way I would have ever caught it. But I did catch the one time Holiday World had a silhouette of Magnum (or was it a different Arrow/Morgan hyper) on one of their shirts. That was strange. I always relegated that sort of thing to the big corporate parks. It somehow didn't make me love Holiday World any less.

ytterbiumanalyst
Awesome, have fun with that! It's the best enthusiast event, and by that I mean the highest percentage of attendees have showered.

Vchaz
So I've written holiday World but they just copy and paste their websote at me. Has anyone used parent swap there? Would it work if my wife played with our toddler somewhere else for the wait, and I call her to get back to the exit when I am close to boarding? Also my vacation this year is the first week of July. Am I crazy to hope that the fourth itself will be less busy than the rest of the week?
rwilliam62521
Quick question for Paula. Is the PodCast coming back sometime? I miss it.

ZeroGravity55
So the park removed the half pipe slide from Hyena Falls, which now makes an attraction that was out of place seem even more out of place. Seems to me that it might make it easier to move those 3 slides to a part of the waterpark that makes more sense in the future ? That was the only slide on that complex designed to somewhat go with the terrain. Not saying that's why the park did it as they clearly stated why they did it. However, I do wonder if being able to move the complex influenced their decision on weather to remove it or makes the changes necessary to operate the slide. Canobie Coaster
^ If they added another slide over there too, the separation between the rest of the water park wouldn't be as pronounced.
