bert425
Hi Robb, didn't wanna clutter up your Japan TR thread, so came to ask Alvey! Luckily the only H-Mart in central Texas is only about a 10 minute drive from me. So after deciding to eat lunch today in their food court (H-Mart Sushi, tho expensive, is very good), I browsed the candy/snack aisle and was completely overwhelmed by the options. but didn't see anything close to chocolate crunch. Which surprised me, as it does seem to be all the rage in Japan. so i talked to the lady that stocks the candy aisle, and tho she hadn't heard of it, she pointed me towards the below as the closest thing they sell. now, it's nowhere near as shiny as the pics you posted (from the zoo), but it most certainly is tasty as all heck! (they didn't have the chocolate flavor, only the strawberry one. . so I bought that). I'd describe it as similar to a rice-krispie treat, but without the "gooey-ness" (so no marshmallow, or molasses in it). .just a light, sweet crunchy treat. regardless, I liked it, so I have a new snack to pick up. . but how close would this be to Chocolate Crunch? in the ballpark? enjoying the hell out of the Japan trip.. bert

Nrthwnd
Actually, there are a few Japanese food stores I know of, large ones too, that I should check out for the Chocolate Crunch. Although I do know Tokyo Disney's will be an easy win, still.
