boldikus
Ah Cedar Creek Mine Ride, the crappy "family coaster" with the same height requirement as Steel Vengeance and Millennium Force. Yeah... that ride sucks, it's sitting on prime real estate, it rarely has a line and I wouldn't care one bit if they removed it. Sorry CP fanboys, worst mine train ever. Nrthwnd
^ The best part of that coaster, was the part near the end, when it looked like the coaster train was heading right towards the station. Then it made a sharp right turn, and headed towards the station. That was fun, but the rest of it? Meh.
boldikus
They should have RMC convert it for the anniversary. Worlds first already-a-hybrid hybrid coaster. Or just rip it the hell out and put in like a Chiapas level flume there. That works too.
ytterbiumanalyst
I absolutely love mine trains; they're one of my favourite coaster types, and I always ride one whenever I'm in a park that has one. I've ridden Thunderation at Silver Dollar City probably more times than any other coaster. Cedar Creek Mine Ride sucks ass.

thrillseeker4552
Put me in the camp of "I wouldn't care if they removed it" too. It would be nice to see them lower the height restriction, but this is Cedar Fair we're talking about... Remove CCMR and use that space plus what's left of the STR land and put in an awesome family/thrill GCI with a 42" height restriction. One can dream... bluestreak
FWIW, When we were at the amazment shop (maintenance area that does B&Ms and Arrows) I asked the question about arrow parts and the guy said that S&S takes care of all the arrow parts. With that in mind, I don't think we have to worry about any arrows going away due to parts issues any time soon.

Meh. well.. evil of us, but you must admit we "enjoyed" the whole scene happening with the car behind us with the larger woman who INSISTED she would fit. . but didn't quite.. despite a good 4 or so minutes of grown men leaning on the lap bar to try and get it to close. I say enjoyed, only because anyone with eyes saw the issue, and she kept saying that was NOT the issue, and there was a problem with the ride as to why it wouldn't go down. I live down the street from the S&S facility, and when I last visited I saw an Arrow looping coaster train sitting in the yard (almost looked like Anaconda or Viper, it was green). Speaking of maintenance, what is it about B&M that is so low maintenance? Why do maintenance teams like them so much? Are they just really well engineered (but then again, shouldn't every roller coaster be so?). I've always wondered this.

drummermattk
While some of the pictures may not be as good as the others ones posted, heres my TR from WCO! I was fortunate to be in the 8 AM group for the event and overall it was amazing as always! The itinerary was as follows: -Zombie High Haunt Maze Walk-through -Millennium Force Trains Photo Ops -Steel Vengeance Close Up Op -Dragster Hydraulic Room -Tony & Jason Presentation -Classified Media Release (shhhh.............) -On Park Laundromat Tour -Intamin Maintenance Shop Tour After all that we had about an hour to enjoy lunch and being indoors. The park added an addition to the tour this year as after the tours where done, we could go to the Amazement Shop where almost every single coaster that's not at Intamin is worked on in the off-season!Also found out that although Arrow filed for bankruptcy, they are still a company, but with S&S as most of the trains, bolts and everything are supplied by Arrow still (well technically S&S). I'm just going by what one of the leads from the maintenance shop told us..... Overall, the additions for this year are looking amazing and Steel Vengeance just looks phenomenal! I personally cannot wait for opening day! (For those who don't know and i haven't been able to keep up with the thread recently, tony did say that a first riders benfit will be coming!) Comeagain?
I can tell you with absolute certainty that S&S will still supply Arrow parts. So parts availability isn't necessarily a limiting factor, only cost.

(Just under the corporate umbrella of S&S) That division has its own warehouse specifically with Arrow parts and people dedicated to Arrow rides. ytterbiumanalyst
Thanks for the shop photos, Matt. Very cool. they're one of my favourite coaster types Are you suddenly British? Not British, and not suddenly. When I was growing up, my next door neighbour was Canadian, from south Ontario between Toronto and Buffalo. They moved in mid 90s sometime, and I think he was the first non-American kid I ever met. I liked the way the words looked aesthetically, so I've been doing that ever since. southpuddle
While on the subject of removing Cedar Creek Mine Ride, I have long been an advocate for keeping around the old Arrow mine rides, but my opinion has recently changed. It would be one thing if CCMR had an appropriate height restriction (like every other arrow mine ride out there) but as it stands, it is a sad excuse for a family coaster. If it were to be replaced with a Firechaser Express type family coaster, one with theming and as long as the park actually made an attempt to keep some of big mature trees and not clear cut the entire site, I’d be perfectly content with that as a replacement.
