EliHorton
I am late but I was at Seaworld the day after you and it was so dead! Great pix of a decent park. Beautiful park but the staff at the coasters seemed irritated they had to work. That's how it seems every time I go to Silver Dollar City and Worlds of Fun. Lol. thrillrider
Onto part 2..... The Spanish area has to be of the best theamed areas of the park. It contains la viboria, and this. Entrance to Spain There is also a teacup ride that I failed to get a good picture of. Next up we have a kick ass old school coaster...shockwave Walk on baby! I think this was last year's new attraction I love a good triple spin ride, and this one even had a theme to it. This year's new attraction is no joke.....well, actually it is Fun ride, but did not spin nearly as much as fiesta Texas Batman did. One last look This ride was never did open. Bummer, I was looking forward to it. The park has 2 mine rides. 1 for the kiddies, and one for adults. The adult version is a lengthy, and very well theamed coaster. Station shot The mini mine train was fun as well Blurry station shot Time for some credit horring Fun kiddie coaster. Hmmm....where have I seen this coaster before? Still a great ride, no matter how many I have been on. The station for the coaster also doubles as a disco. Love the name of this water ride. I'm surprised it's not used more at six flags parks. Justice league #2 Great addition to Six flags. This one was identical to the St Louis version. Time to get out of the heat and check out some shows. Can't remember the name of this show, but it was good. Chart toppers was another good show. As we were leaving the show, I noticed this on a seat. I hope it's not what I think it is. Lot's more from sfot coming up.....stay tuned.
Nrthwnd
^ Ha! That looks like a tire air pressure gauge. In red. Â Â Â Â Or a very small, teeny weeny weed pipe. In red.
Canobie Coaster
Great report. Six Flags Over Texas looks like a really nice Six Flags park. Â Just curious, how many flips did SFOT's Joker give you. 2-3?
thrillrider
Yea...it was around 2 or 3. Fiesta was non stop spinning.

thrillrider
A few more shots of six flags over Texas before we move onto our next park. Mr freeze This coaster launches you backwards up this spike. Station shot. You think that it would be nice and cool inside here, but it was about 100 degrees inside. I love how this park has giant misters all over the place to help keep you cool. Maintenance area under lavoba I believe this was supposed to be the "French" section of the park. Only thing in this section was some history of the park. Parks entrance courtyard and carousel We had a great time at six flags over Texas. Now onto our next park....Frontier city. PKI Jizzman
Even though I visited in 2009 before the RMC treatment, the park blew away all expectations I had leading in. I loved the Spain area near Vibora, and Shockwave was AMAZING. Still tops in my books...the airtime in the back is so abrupt. What a great collection of above average rides in a pleasantly themed park.
Canobie Coaster
Great report! Shockwave sounds really good and it's so ironic, but expected, Mr. Freeze had a hot station.
bigboy
Great pics! You made it through the park on a great day(s). The La Vibora line being contained inside the entrance is a good sign of a small crowd. Â The spinning tamales and the nearby rocking donkeys on the train track are recycled theming pieces from the Ferrocarril Fiesta Train. It was one of the parks original rides that ran through the general area where La Vibora is located now.
Nrthwnd
...The spinning tamales and the nearby rocking donkeys on the train track are recycled theming pieces... Â Spinning tamales! Of course! I really enjoy seeing outdoor "animatronics" in any park, and these looked like fun! This is a "singing welcome ensemble" outside a park's entrance near Sapporo, Japan. TPR 2013 Japan Tour. (Without me, of course. And pardon my inclusion of a photo not from your trip, thrillrider.)
bigboy
The actual description on that history page was "dancing tamales", but you get the idea. At one time, the music track from the original ride played in the area of the tamales and burros. One of the original diesel locomotives from the ride is used as a service engine to tow the steam locomotives in and out of the roundhouse during the off season rehab. Nrthwnd
^ That could be an interesting thread - photos/videos of animation/animatronics (working and not) throughout a theme park. And not part of any attraction. Just as it/they are, to entertain people who pass by. Or enter the park, like this set I showed, did. Â Back to you, thrillrider! thrillrider
Interesting info. Â There was another section on the train with animatronics(see picture below). The ticket taker picture I posted in the report was also animated.
thrillrider
Today's update takes us to frontier city theme park in Oklahoma city. This little off the radar park has a lot to offer for the entire family. Â They are home to 5 coasters, several spin and puke rides, shows, and a fun flume ride and dark ride. There is also a LOT for the kids to do. We really enjoyed this park, and would return in the future if in the area. Â Onto the pictures... So we left Dallas at 10am with plans on being at frontier city around 2pm. However, this guy held us up another hour and a half. How does this happen? Not only was he facing the opposite direc8 of traffic, but he ended up in a for in a construction zone. We made it! This is the entrance of the park. Inside this entrance, there is a large gift shop and the entrance to our first coaster. The diamondback coaster(Not the kings island version) Diamondback is a classic Arrow shuttle loop Station shot Nice train, ruff ride Wild kitty is the parks kiddy coaster. One more shot. The park has a bunch of miniature scale houses for the kids to play in. Complete with 2nd floor Lots for the kids to do. The park is nicely themed. Brain drain is the parks newest attraction. These things are popping up in parks everywhere. The lay of the land Nice landscaping everywhere Steel lasso is a mini suspended coaster. This coaster had a slightly different layout than the others I have been on. The coaster in action Fun coaster This was a fun shooter dark ride. Your chariot My favorite coaster in this park. The layout Classic goodness Station shot Loop D loop Lots of fun Lots more coming from frontier city...stay tuned.
johnychen
Great report. Love the pictures. Just in case you want to try Whataburger's again, I highly recommend their patty melt. Their regular burger is OK but the patty melt is amazing.

thrillrider
More pictures from frontier city. Looks like a nice place to have a beer. The tumbleweed is a clasdic rotor type ride. The ride operator said tgat this ride came from six flags Texas. The whole family enjoyed this ride. The last coaster left to ride in this park is the wildcat. This coaster was bought and moved from another park a while back. This historical marker was near the entrance of the wildcat. It's hard to get a good shot of this coaster, as 90% of it is in the woods. While your waiting in line, they have these really cool rollercoaster history boards. Station shot One last look of the train entering the station. They had a free concert the day we were there. Not a huge country music fan, but who could pass up a chance to see the Charlie Daniels band? This park has a huge fest house style restaurant with a magic show stage, and arcade games. The parks log flume has the longest tunnel I have ever been in on a log flume. This had the longest line of the day They also have a rapids ride. In case you forgot, we are in frontier city The park also has a decent selection of rides also...like bumper cars The casino Tilt a whirl and many more The ferris wheel is located on the highest point of the park. I forgot to add this earlier, but Wildcats station also had this....my home parks shivering timbers A few last looks at frontier city That's it from frontier city, on our way to silver dollar city in our next update. ytterbiumanalyst
Great pictures from Frontier City! The park has been making some significant improvements in the post-Six Flags era. That log flume is awesome, and there are so many good flats. It's one of the best small parks. All the coasters run a single train, but they have some of the best single train operations I've ever seen. The one train gets unloaded and loaded so quickly. And bonus points for seeing Charlie Daniels!
cparkes92
You can never pass up an opportunity to see one of the living legends of country music, especially when it's free! Also looks like Frontier City is a beautiful little park

EliHorton
WOW! Great pictures of a wonderful park! I haven't gone since last year but it is a park I wish I could get to more since I live only four hours away in Springfield, Missouri. It is definitely one of my favorite amusement parks. They maintain their coasters and classic flats nicely and the overall park just looks so good! And they have a decent mix of coasters, two that go upside down, a kiddie one, and two family coasters. And I love their flat rides, especially the flying scooters and the Zamperla power surge. And their Wild West Water Works area is fun, too! They just added a new slide tower in it this year. Speaking of which, the super loop isn't the park's newest attraction, the Gunslinger (Power Surge) opened last year and Gully Washer (water slide) opened this year. Brain Drain opened two years ago. Otherwise, that you for visiting this small park!

I also forgot to mention that we stayed at the hotel directly next door to the park, and were able just to walk over instead of having to pay to park. That was an added bonus, as when I booked the room I had no idea that it was directly next door to the park....just close by. Â I also have to mention how nice the staff was as well. They were very efficient, and friendly. If I had to pick one negative thing from this park, it would be the food prices. We had gotten 3 small personal pizzas for lunch, and it was near $30. The pizzas were just enough for 1 person and came with a breadstick.
