Europe 2016 - Robb & Elissa Traveling Around Riding Stuff

Recommended Posts

Wildfire looks just as great as expected! I am more impressed with the rest of the park since it has not been seen as much. They really have a TON of potential here to make it a world class zoo/amusement park. This is a huge step in the right direction and I can't wait to see what else they have in store in the coming years.

Kolmarden looks like such a fun park and Wildfire looks incredible!

And this... This is amazing! I've never seen animals in any American parks/zoos eating real animal flesh like this in such a natural form--it would always be processed meat or they would be fed backstage. Just awesome to see the cultural differences when it comes to visibility to certain things in these parks versus the US ones. Thanks for sharing!

It would be way too awesome to see and hear American people's reactions when they round a bend of a safari and the tour guide says, "Now over here we have our African lion family making a sustainable meal out of a horse."

Really enjoyed reading through this! Thanks for all the posts. I would love to take a trip like that some day. Wildfire looks insane, I really need to get to Europa, and I have to experience the goodness that is Expedition GeForce!

What a great trip report, thank you! It's great to see what other parks look like overseas. It's obvious the pride the parks take in keeping everything clean and looking great. Maybe some of the Six Flags parks should look at these trip reports and take some notes... lol

Thanks so much for the trip report! I have never been, but this is definitely my favorite park, out of all the reports I've seen for the other parks. Well, maybe Tivoli is a tie with Europa Park. The landscaping and attention to details is just unreal. They have a real gem of a park for sure!

So following our departure from Kolmarden and Sweden, we escaped for a week on a Cruise that left from Rome but visiting four ports in Greece. This was all Kristen's idea as she had been learning about Greek mythology in school and wanted to check it out for herself. Upon returning to Rome we did some sightseeing and then spent a day working with Rainbow Magicland and Cinecitta World to do some filming at both parks. It was a whirlwind quick visit to those parks, but still very fun! We will close out this trip report with a few cruise photos (Honestly didn't take THAT many pics as the cruise was a legit vacation away from our last vacation...which was mostly work) and some photos from the two Italy parks...

For the last two days we've been visiting "Ancient Greece" and maybe it's that we are just jaded from all our travels but I found most of it to be about as interesting as "a pile of rocks."

Especially compared to other major historical places we've been: The Colosseum, Great Wall of China, Mexican pyramids, etc, even Stonehenge which is literally another "pile of rocks" but those places just had something actual to see and looked like how you would image them to be.

I get that these Greek places are older and there has been more damage, but there really isn't a lot to see and I'm not sure I could recommend it to be a place to put high on the priority list of things in the world to go see. I guess you could say I was pretty unimpressed.

Our favorite reason for coming to Italy? #Pizza!

CnBCM5wXYAA09I0.jpg

Visited historical sites in Italy & Greece back-to-back. Sorry, Greece you were nice, but I prefer Italy!

As someone who is fairly uninterested in "historical stuff" in the world, it was actually interesting to me to compare Italy & Greece back-to-back. I get that it's different time periods and different set of circumstances but Italy wins out in every way.

It was also nice to see all the restoration projects going on in Rome. While the Colosseum, for example, may not be 100% original, they do a good job of telling you which parts were original and what has been rebuilt.

I think I would have appreciated Greece a bit more had they rebuilt a lot of their history instead of leaving it as a pile of disgusting rubble. But it was also pretty clear to me even after only a few days that as a country, Greece is a complete mess while Italy at least seems to have some of their shit together.

Anyway, just my thoughts on things. Other people may not agree with me, but I also really don't care.

ps. And no I'm not biased because I'm Italian, I'm actually not even that big of a fan of Italy either, other than their pizza which kicks a lot of ass!

The comparisons between ancient (still standing) Italian and Greek architecture....amazing.

Thanks for all that, Robb. Italy is definitely 'it' for me then, heh. And Rainbow Magicland looks

wonderful! So much theming, I see there. Very impressive.

And the "Jewel of The Seas"? Colour me sea green for seeing all that.

That small floor window, looking down through all the levels of the ship looked beautiful,

just to see it in your photo.

All 5 weeks were great to see, thanks Robb, Elissa and Kristen!

Love seeing some parks that I'm more familiar with ! Do you guys have any plans to check out the UK soon? Always interested to see an outside opinion of our parks, and was secretly hoping your Europe trip would have a UK add on

I'm looking forward to all the new videos! It's nice to hear some commentary behind the videos again!

This is seriously one of the best-looking trips I've ever seen. I really need to get to these European parks sometime, I just have no idea when I'll be able to get to one.

Thanks for the 5 weeks of awesome trip reports!

I desperately want to get to Germany... primarily to ride roller coasters! Sightseeing in Berlin, or other popular places is optional.

I really want to get to the UK... primarily to ride roller coasters! Sightseeing in London is definitely going to happen as well, but is secondary.

However, when it comes to Italy, I've wanted to go there simply for its beauty, and historical significance, and did I mention its beauty! I never realized they had any cool amusement parks or coasters there. Now that I see otherwise, I'm even MORE excited to get out to Italy someday, hopefully before too long!

Thanks for the TR, and photos! They were all very entertaining, and in some cases, informative!

Awesome report, always great to get trip reports on international park.

Also great to hear you enjoyed your time in Italy. I still have ties there (some family still lives there) so its cool to see the parks they always tell me about and visit frequently.

What a novel concept from Rainbow Magicland, to put VR on a coaster that isn't the tallest, fastest, or most popular at the park!

Thanks Robb for all the updates. I have followed along the whole trip. It is unlikely that I will ever do a trip this long, but for future planning purposes, what would you say was your favorite 7-10 day leg not including the Cruise and Italian parks? I am just curious for your opinion, really!
