Yesterday we were invited to take part in a media preview of the 2016 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival 2016. The event opens on March 2nd and runs for 90 days this year, the longest the event has ever been! Along with some new garden displays and playgrounds, they are also expanding the food offerings, which began four years ago, to 13 different "outdoor kitchens" around World Showcase.

Much like the Food & Wine event, you can find food booths set up around Epcot where you can sample different offerings featuring more "organic" menu items that showcase some of the Flower & Garden themes.

We got to sample quite a bit of it yesterday and there are some outstanding food & beverage options! Have a look at the photos & video below and we hope to see you at the event this spring!

Here we are at the Flower & Garden Media Preview!

We started off the event with a fantastic tour of several of the garden displays by WDW Horticulture Manager, Eric Darden.
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 3.jpg
Of course Mickey Mouse would have a very prominent display!
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 4.jpg
Here's a closer look at him to check out some of the detail.
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 5.jpg
The area surrounding the water front just looks fantastic. I sort of wish Epcot could look like this all year long, but at least this year we've got it for 90 days!
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 6.jpg
Yes! We timed it perfectly to get a monorail in the shot!
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 7.jpg
Scattered around the park are loads of the topiary displays.
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 8.jpg
Here's Chip N' Dale right at the entrance to the event!
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 9.jpg
Turns out, they've stolen Mickey's sandwich!
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 10.jpg
Chip N Dale fans should be very happy with this exhibit!
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 11.jpg
Minnie & Pluto are also here hanging out...
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 12.jpg
Here's a closer look at Pluto...
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 13.jpg
Since the event was not quite open yet, we got a sneak peek inside some of the areas still under construction.
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 14.jpg
Noted! ;)
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 15.jpg
This is always a very popular playground and I'm sure it will be again this year!
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 16.jpg
Only a few more days and it will be OPEN!
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 17.jpg
More of the character topiaries that have been set up in preparation of the event.
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 18.jpg
Hello, Tigger!
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 19.jpg
And where there is Tigger, there is always some Pooh!
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 20.jpg
We were invited into a "Tables in Wonderland" event where we got to sample some of the Flower & Garden "Outdoor Kitchen" offerings.
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 21.jpg
But first, some of the event merchandise...
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 22.jpg
Cute hat!
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 23.jpg
I'm sure this Chip N Dale item will be in our house sometime very soon! =)
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 24.jpg
Macaroons? Yes, please!
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 25.jpg
Oooh...do I see Ricotta and Balsamic in the same sentence?
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 26.jpg
Yes, I do!
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 27.jpg
The ricotta was amazing! It just melted in your mouth!
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 28.jpg
The beef brisket hash was one of my favorites!
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 29.jpg
Adding Jalapeños? Now you're speaking my language!
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 30.jpg
And of course there are beer & wine offerings this year as well.
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 31.jpg
Anything from Cigar City is something I'm sure I'll be a fan of!
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 32.jpg
The executive chefs are not afraid to "spice things up" at these Epcot events!
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 33.jpg
The jerk chicken was fantastic!
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 34.jpg
Beef teriyaki with udon noodles?!?!? This just keeps getting better and better!
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 35.jpg
Delicious!
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 36.jpg
Wait...what is that I see?!?!?
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 37.jpg
MAPLE. BACON. STOUT! The only three words you need to come away from remembering (if you can) from this event!
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 38.jpg
For the live music fans, here's the band line-up this year. Starship! YESSSSSSS!!!!
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 39.jpg
Wait...Currywurst????
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 40.jpg
Yup! And it was also fantastic!
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 41.jpg
Next up was a plat potting activity.
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 42.jpg
That's right...I'm getting down and dirty....

"I'd like a purple plant in a pink pot..."
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 44.jpg
"I totally birthed a plant here at Epcot!"
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 45.jpg
Little guy even has my eyes!
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 46.jpg
Going to go check out some more topiaries and gardens...
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 47.jpg
Peter Pan high above London!
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 48.jpg
Tick Tock Captain Hook!
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 49.jpg
Belle & Beast are back this year...
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 51.jpg
..as are the Lady and the Tramp.
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 52.jpg
Snow White has her entourage.
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 53.jpg
All seven of these little guys are here...
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 54.jpg
The ultimate Snow White fanboys!
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 55.jpg
There are even some miniature topiaries set up in the model train in Germany!
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 56.jpg
Simba is back...
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 57.jpg
Here is the Chinese Dragon!
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 58.jpg
Anna & Elsa are in Norway this year where they belong.
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 59.jpg
Here's a closer look at the girls!
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 60.jpg
Elsa's icy powers are a little green during the spring! ;)
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 61.jpg
But seriously, this is absolutely the prettiest that Epcot looks all year long!
flower_garden_epcot_2016_ - 62.jpg
You've got 90 days starting March 2nd to check it out! What are you waiting for?

Looks fantastic! I loved visiting during Flower & Garden Festival last year, the whole park is extra beautiful during this time of year. (I still have my 2015 Flower & Garden Magic Band)

Earlier today, I literally want to weep as our plane was cancelled to Aruba (stupid plane).

Good news is that we're on schedule for tomorrow morning departure...and there is an Epcot food report!

Life is starting to feel better again...thanks for this! :)

Does anybody know if they have released the epcot summer concert schedule yet for July. I looked on the official Disney site, but keep running into dead ends.
