That was a happy surprise, for myself. =)

I love it that year-round walk-through haunts are so common in parks in other countries. Like to see more of them in the U.S.

I've been thinking this for years, wasn't LaRonde supposed to be opening a year round haunt this year that was going to remain open during their Hallwoeen Event?

After Wasalandia we made our way down to our hotel in Tampere, Finland. It is the 2nd largest city in located right dab in the middle of the country. I quite liked it, very beautiful. The next day we hit Sarkaniemmi, a park I have always been looking forward to. It did not disappoint! Tornado is amazing and the park is very cool.

Welcome to Sarkaniemmi!

The group piles into Tornado's queue for our morning ERT session.
DSC_1079.JPG
This ride is so photogenic and is looking awesome!
DSC_1080.JPG
Very Volcanoesque station on this one. I like the industrial feel.
DSC_1088.JPG
The yellow train warms us up!
DSC_1091.JPG
And now dayglow train is ready for me!
DSC_1092.JPG
Happy back seat riders =)
DSC_1097.JPG
This element is OMFG awesome!!!
DSC_1115.JPG
Upside down through the station underground? Yes please.
DSC_1116.JPG
I mean how messed up does this look?
DSC_1118.JPG
Wooosh!
DSC_1120.JPG
One more look.
DSC_1129.JPG
Yellow train needs love, too. We can't all have dayglow.
DSC_1130.JPG
Beware of this creep.
DSC_1134.JPG
Next up, we had ERT on Half Pipe!
DSC_1139.JPG
These are really really fun especially for a group.
DSC_1148.JPG
It was fun changing up rider positions to try and create more spinning.
DSC_1159.JPG
Catching air!
DSC_1219.JPG
The park opened up, and we have to brave some of the remaining credits.
DSC_1220.JPG
Too bad it looks sooo good!
DSC_1221.JPG
The inversions are actually the best part, though.
DSC_1224.JPG
I see the Intamin over there!
DSC_1225.JPG
Like many parks in Europe, there are many messed up flat rides.
DSC_1226.JPG
The new addition was down for the count, but I didn't feel like vomiting anyways.
DSC_0004 (2).JPG
Prepare for lots of photos of Tornado as we waited before lunch. Perfect heartlining!
DSC_0007 (2).JPG
Sooo pretty.
DSC_0012.JPG
Those colors :)
DSC_0023 (2).JPG
This is what Volcano should have been.
DSC_0025 (2).JPG
Interesting shot.
DSC_0030 (2).JPG
I scarfed down a lot of pizza. It was really good!
DSC_0036 (2).JPG
We headed to the south most point of the park for the Dolphin themed disko!
DSC_0037 (2).JPG
It was cute! KT loved it and the "roller coaster" versions of these are my favorite (I usually skip the U shaped ones)
DSC_0040 (2).JPG
A lot of the group took the speed boat for a ride! No thanks, I was staying dry.
DSC_0050 (2).JPG
We checked out some more of the cute Angry Birds area.
DSC_0054 (2).JPG
Ready to send Soupy back to America!
DSC_0060 (2).JPG
No park visit would be complete without ice cream
DSC_0063 (2).JPG
Guess the flavors!
DSC_1231.JPG
The big playground was awesome.
DSC_1234.JPG
KT definitely approves!
DSC_1236.JPG
I don't know what the hell this is.
DSC_1240.JPG
Another credit! I believe it is the newest one.
DSC_1244.JPG
I'm not a fan of the riding position.
DSC_1262.JPG
And I don't really see the need for this type of ride in a park. But that's just me!
DSC_1265.JPG
A few of us braved the log flume. It was cool with a lot of little drops and speed throughout!
DSC_1287.JPG
Are you tired of seeing this?
DSC_1290.JPG
That color is not photo shopped!
DSC_1293.JPG
Heartlines.
DSC_1295.JPG
Overview.
DSC_0074 (2).JPG
Threading the loop!
DSC_0078 (2).JPG
The first drop is really funky.
DSC_0085 (2).JPG
I like funky.
DSC_0086 (2).JPG
Beautiful.
DSC_0091 (2).JPG
I promise I'm almost done...
DSC_0096 (2).JPG
That shaping!
DSC_0097 (2).JPG
We also checked out the indoor dolphin show.
DSC_0107 (2).JPG
It turned out to be really sensual with the trainers. Usually you have to pay for this type of entertainment.
DSC_0108 (2).JPG
They did do some high flyin' tricks, though!
DSC_0110 (2).JPG
The park also had a large "farm animal" area to walk around.
DSC_0112 (2).JPG
Moooooo

Group nonsense heading up the observation tower.

This would be Tampere!

Goodbye sir Tornado.

Awesome pics from Särkänniemi! It's always interesting to see the finnish parks through someone else's camera and hear what they think. I'm looking forward to the last update from my home park Linnanmäki, especially your stories from Kirnu (the ZacSpin) as I heard you had some hilarious moments with the balancing! =) I was working at the Moser drop tower Kingi and it was fun to see some of the faces from this forum!

I prefer to mate with donkeys over humans!

That moto coaster totally sucked arse! It literally had no redeeming features about it what so ever. But lets not forget the single best thing about the park.......DAY GLOW!

KT could have spent all day in that Angry Birds playground!

Love the picture of Chris in the slingshot!

Thanks everyone. This park has really grown on me as I think about it - I quite like it a lot for what it is. I'll work on getting the final Linnanmaki update ready soon so I can finish an entire TPR trip Photo TR for once!!!

Dayglow definitely provided for some amazing pictures.

Portugal needs more old-school B&M's!!!

Great pics.
I've never tried this Tornado, only the one in Madrid and while it was fun it was nothing special (and a little rough sometimes). This one appears to have a more interesting layout, though. For those who've ridden both, how do they compare?
The Mr Freeze coasters should have speakers playing the sentence: "Let's kick some ice!" right before each launch

What does one say after riding a Batman clone?
The G force is strong with this one.
