Considering the reactions when the ride closed theres probably people who would pay money for them...

Anything that Disney touches, is probably worth something to somebody out there.

One of the things we’ve heard from our guests is that a visit to Walt Disney World Resort just isn’t complete without enjoying the spectacular views at Soarin’ in Epcot or a spin through Toy Story Mania! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Well, I’m excited to share that we are expanding both attractions by adding another theater at Soarin’ and more midway track at Toy Story Mania! We’ll also be updating the screens and projection system at Soarin,’ bringing a visually enhanced experience.

 

These expansions are expected to be complete by late 2016, offering even more opportunities for you to enjoy these beloved attractions during your Walt Disney World Resort vacation.

This is exactly the kind of thing Disney didn't HAVE to do, but they recognize the value in doing so. A third theater should definitely help to trim the line a bit! I just read that current capacity was something like 1400/hour, so taking that up to ~2100 will be awfully nice!

Good move--both those rides could use better capacity.

Accidentally posted this in the DHS thread, but what are the chances they'll switch over to Soarin' Over the World when the third theater opens? I imagine this is as much a retroactive 'this thing has horrible capacity' decision as much as it is a future 'and now we're going to make it brand new again' one.

After recently going on Soarin' for the first time recently the new screens and projectors are much need in my opinion so its great to see that being done alongside the new theatre.

Don't count on it. The original Soarin' Over CA is already closed for the same kinds of projector upgrades that the article mentioned, but it won't be expanding with a third theatre yet. When it reopens, it will sport an HD version of the same film which will look amazing.

Personally I hope it always stays CA-only. That way I can continue to be entertained by WDW guests who have no clue it's all CA and think the vistas really are from all over the place. When the night flight through Downtown LA hits I have heard many times "OOOOHHH New York!!!"

Heading out of Epcot for the day...

I love this event and we will be back many times between March 4 to May 17, 2015!

Looks like they should call if Epcot Flower, Garden & FOOD festival!

I love the Frozen Fever magic bands! Also I really enjoyed the little video. Great way to show off lots of different aspects of the event!
