Great report Shawn. It really looks like they have a winner with Firechaser Express, and nice to see Dolly actually got on the ride!

Oh, and I presume they have a winner with the apple butter also, as if the Cinnamon Bread needed anything else to make it even more awesome.

Looks like a lot of fun. I'm glad you only posted 1 of the creepy doll pictures.

There's plenty more creepy photos for you Thad

Good to see you for a bit last Friday and sorry I couldn't hang around longer. I still need to try that Moonshine place sometime soon. Can't beat the amount of free samples they give you!

Happy to have gotten to at least say hey. Between Old Smoky Moonshine Distillery, the new Sugar Land one, and the Davy Crocket Whisky and Moonshine it's amazing how many free samples and buzz you can get.

PS: You seem to be a NYC boy. You + NYC = BEST relationship!

That is so true!

Dolly never gets on the actual rides, though it would be hilarious if she ever did. And the apple butter was seriously nothing but delicious win!

Excellent photo TR.

Man, Dolly has lost so much weight, she just looks like two boobs and a blond wig!

Thanks! Though realistically isn't that all she has ever been

Great pictures! I can't help but thinking how Firechaser is going to look when the trees start to grow up around it.

We were talking about that while at the park. It is going to look fantastic once the trees have grown in a bit and there's some more coverage and even more interaction with the surroundings.

^ Agreed on it being a nice touch by Dolly. Though you could tell they were rushing her along and they always get a bit nervous when Dolly goes off script.

Ever since the 2009 trip I told myself no matter what I would head to Scandi with TPR whenever they decided to go back. This past June I joined in on the adventure of a lifetime and spend almost 3 weeks traveling through 5 countries, 80 roller coasters and had a whole lot of fun.

The following few updates will be highlights of the trip for you all to enjoy.

Part 1: Copenhagen;

The dream trip started with a 7 hour flight, sitting next to a nice but chatty retired jewish lady heading on a cruise. Upon arrival at the Copenhagen airport I met up with a few other folks to take the train to the first hotel. We quickly go settled in and then went for a stroll about to see the sights of the city. I can not think of a bad thing or experience that happened in Copenhagen. I found great food, beers to go, and whatever is in the water in Denmark makes the people stunning to look at and not to mention friendly. There was also no shortage of hookers propositioning me on the late night walks back to the hotels which provided some great stories.

Jumping further ahead into the Scandi trip I wanted to share what was easily one of the most incredible experiences ever offered and that I have done. Thank you to Theme Park Review, Grona Lund and some amazing donations to Give Kids the World we were able to actually climb, ride, and crawl our way to the top of their Star Flyer. This was no easy feat and certainly not for the faint of heart given the height, wind, and odd maneuvering through the structure of the ride.

The almost 2 hour adventure started with getting harnessed up on the ride platform allowing us all to second guess our sanity while looking up at the tower. Happy to report that no one in our group backed out and all successfully made the climb up and down. The first step after getting secure in a harness was to climb through the structure and scale a small ladder to then climb outside the structure and stand on the ride vehicle. Yes you read that right and it is something no one in their right mind would ever think to do... and that was just the first step in the process!

Once the group was safely situated onto the vehicle our lovely guides put the ride in elevator mode and slowly we made out way up the tower holding on for dear life. A little past half way up the ride catches a second ring of steel that I believe helps keep the cables in place. In preparation for this imagine being told on a small platform at over 200 feet in the air to be careful not to lose your hands and prepare for a small thunk! Just one of the many points I had no idea why I was choosing to do this!

Step three took place close to 400ft above the ground, and that was to crawl back into the structure and scale the small ladder up and into the elevator room. I think we all breathed a sigh of relief standing in that room and took a few second to gain composure before crawling out a small hatch and standing open air on top of the dome to take in all of Stockholm. While up top Nicole and Jeremiah had a special moment with a proposal, huge congrats on the engagement and for not dropping the ring!

The last step was doing all of that in reverse to get back down to solid ground. Something a few of us never thought we would see again... The sum up, it was unnerving, incredible, intimidating, and absolutely one of the best memories and experiences of my life and no amount of thank you's could ever be said.

Now how about some pictures:

And I was perfectly happy, watching you from ground level, lol.

I would of been just fine with the safety of watching from the ground.

There was a large part of the group and probably public in the park that felt the same way! Afterwords while walking around and seeing the other groups up there it did make one thankful to be back on solid ground.
