What he meant is:
"Webcams for Helix are soon online."

They actually are already, nice to see that Liseberg finally have put them up for us to follow the construction in real time.
Next update from me will come within a week, so expect more images then.

The webcam will be nice to keep track of the construction. Looking forward to this going up and seeing it next year!

A little paint and they will be good to go. I would love to see the fabrication of the track and how they position the pieces with all the complex angles and maintain tolerances welding it all together.

Completely missed this update, been away from my computer this weekend, thanks for sharing though.

Final weekend updates, Helix, Fireworks and more!!

Sure, I have been away from my computer, I had promised my sister to look after her pets while she was away for the weekend. And since here apartment is located in Gothenburg meant that I spent a lot of time at Liseberg, so here is a massive 130 images update from the final weekend of the summer season 2013. The images were taken over the weekend and cover most of the construction of Helix but also a lot of other things in the park including the final fireworks :lover:

The update will cover 2 posts, one for Friday and Saturday and one for Sunday (with a quick mention of Monday). First part will concentrate on Helix where as the second one will be more overall.

Enjoy!!

Part 1:
Helix_10_01_01.JPG
On my way to Gothenburg this Friday I had to switch mode of transport, at a location which is close to Liseberg, so why not have a look around :)
Helix_10_01_02.JPG
Since this was when the track had arrived then it was the main draw
Helix_10_01_03.JPG
Lovely green track <3
Also nice to see RCS here, means that it will be a quick build once they start
Helix_10_01_04.JPG
and there is more of them :)
Helix_10_01_05.JPG
8 pieces in total which will cover both launches
Helix_10_01_06.JPG
Close up
Helix_10_01_07.JPG
The LSM units will go here
Helix_10_01_08.JPG
I really hope that they are sure in the end so we don't end up with some strange modern are piece instead of a coaster
Helix_10_01_09.JPG
Better tag
Helix_10_01_11.JPG
Loads of stuff that are ready to be brought into the park in preparation fro the Christmas season
Helix_10_01_10.JPG
Close-ups from a nearby parking garage
Helix_10_01_12.JPG
Future tunnel under Lisebergbanan
Helix_10_01_13.JPG
Still several footers are missing until the erection will begin
Helix_10_02_01.JPG
So here we are, final weekend have started, unfortunately there was really horrible weather this Saturday, with strong winds and annoying drizzle all day, but that didn't stop me from going to have a look at Helix
Helix_10_02_02.JPG
It's a bit hard to see on this image (there is another one further down that show it better) but they have chopped of some supports on Lisebergbanan to build the tunnel underneath the Lisebergbanan lift, which is the main reason why Lisebergbanan have been closed for the last few weeks of the season
Helix_10_02_03.JPG
Still no access here, but that won't be a problem until next season, so it doesn't matter that much any more
Helix_10_02_04.JPG
As said, it was awful weather
Helix_10_02_05.JPG
Love this angle, loads of footers squeezed into a small area, just imagine the forest of supports that ill converge here
Helix_10_02_06.JPG
Footers for the turnaround between the airtime hill after the second launch and the "essess". Still lot's of things to do at the Pretzel area, no footers there that I know of
Helix_10_02_08.JPG
Here you can see the chopped of support of Lisebergbanan, they will need to do some big concrete footer after they have blasted their way through underneath and weld it all up again
Helix_10_02_07.JPG
More work have been done on the Power shed
Helix_10_02_09.JPG
The future façade is really great looking
Helix_10_02_10.JPG
The structure is complete, now they just need to fill it with big things and then finish it off on the outside
Helix_10_02_11.JPG
The footers here have come a long way since I last where in this area
Helix_10_02_12.JPG
Still more footers that need work after the park shuts
Helix_10_02_14.JPG
Trench for the cables from the power shed to the second launch
Helix_10_02_13.JPG
Other side of the path
Helix_10_02_15.JPG
These concrete blocks will be put in the trenches above and house the cables
Helix_10_02_16.JPG
More footers underway
Helix_10_02_17.JPG
Last time a large hole, now a massive footer in a hole
Helix_10_02_18.JPG
Second launch area have come a long way, it's really going to be pretty steep
Helix_10_02_19.JPG
Construction HQ!!
Helix_10_02_20.JPG
They have really blasted away good here
Helix_10_02_21.JPG
Since Lisebergbanan have been shut for the past weeks there is plenty of work being done to the area before the final in-line, massive tree clearing have been done
Helix_10_02_22.JPG
Future footers for the twist itself
Helix_10_02_23.JPG
More demolishion
Helix_10_02_24.JPG
Footers for the station building or transfer track, you decide??
Helix_10_02_25.JPG
Heavy machinery at the station area
Helix_10_02_26.JPG
Looks like they are preparing construction of the station floor
Helix_10_02_27.JPG
Really love this image, there are at least 16 footers visible in this one shot!!
Helix_10_02_28.JPG
Can't wait for some tracks going through here
Helix_10_02_29.JPG
The first launch ends here
Helix_10_02_30.JPG
First launch area
Helix_10_02_31.JPG
Other direction
Helix_10_02_32.JPG
Turn into the first launch
Helix_10_02_33.JPG
Turn into turn into first launch
Helix_10_02_34.JPG
Yay, Helix!!
Helix_10_02_35.JPG
Noted!!
Helix_10_02_36.JPG
Lisebergbanan shut :(
Helix_10_02_37.JPG
Footers
Helix_10_02_38.JPG
I doubt that they will be able to get a train through that barricade
Helix_10_02_39.JPG
Some of the footers for Helix helix
Helix_10_02_40.JPG
Since the weather was really awful, I decided to have a go at Balder, 10 minutes queues are lovely, especially when Balder was hauling this much ass :P
Helix_10_02_41.JPG
Also had a quick go on Kanonen, which really deserves some love now with it's new restraints
Helix_10_02_42.JPG
<3
Helix_10_02_43.JPG
Since the bad weather didn't let up I decided to call it a day early, but on the way out I walked passed the track area to see if something have happened since last night, and would you look at that, they were moving around the pieces
Helix_10_02_44.JPG
Just a few pieces left??
Helix_10_02_45.JPG
Yep the stack behind the crane was gone as well
Also looks like someone gives me the evil eye, must be the one in charge of the operation, I don't think his hands ever left his sides, quite a character :D
Helix_10_02_46.JPG
Soon they could rip down the SAAB sign and put a Liseberg one there instead, also some more Helix footers
Helix_10_02_47.JPG
OMG Helix is flying!!
Helix_10_02_48.JPG
Ahh, they are moving them into the building, beats working outside on days like this. I guess that they will prepare them as much as possible before installing them.

Next up part 2.
This was the last image from Saturday, next up next post!!

Myabe it's just me but I kind of like the look of the unpainted track, has cool rustic sort of look to it. I wonder if they were to run the trains on it how itwould ride.

Helix_10_03_09.JPG
Some angle I missed on the Helix update
Helix_10_03_10.JPG

Helix_10_03_11.JPG

Helix_10_03_17.JPG
When we have done one of the wheels, why not the other one as well :)
Helix_10_03_18.JPG

I really hope that they have a similar show in the theatre next year, since the one this year was EPIC!!
Helix_10_03_33.JPG
Main entrance to Kaninlandet
Helix_10_03_34.JPG
This was the location of the final fireworks this season, there is too much in the way on the mountain this year so they can't do it as they usually do
Helix_10_03_35.JPG
Spinny thing
Helix_10_03_36.JPG
Loads of happy children
Helix_10_03_37.JPG

Helix_10_03_39.JPG

Helix_10_03_40.JPG

Helix_10_03_41.JPG
This was unfortunate, but also necessary
Helix_10_03_42.JPG
Kanonen is really good now, but I do lover Speed Monster more
Helix_10_03_43.JPG
More people in the park
Helix_10_03_44.JPG
Before it got way too dark, we had a quick walk past the track area again, since my brother who was with me this day wanted to have a look,
Just 2 pieces left outside
Helix_10_03_45.JPG
While having a look at the track I noticed that the truck that also was standing in the area had markings that said "Eberhard Schaustellerbetrieb", wonder if it's the same Eberhard as the one that runs WildeMaus XXL and other attractions at German Fairs, if that's the case then Cool, wonder if they have received the order to deliver Helix to Liseberg
Helix_10_03_46.JPG
Into the park again, it's really nice to see that they remove the entrance fee for the last few hours
Helix_10_03_47.JPG
Getting dark <3
Helix_10_03_48.JPG
And suddenly everything starts to light up
Helix_10_03_49.JPG
We had a few goes on the bumper cars, which was great fun
Helix_10_03_50.JPG

Helix_10_03_51.JPG
Really love this time a year
Helix_10_03_52.JPG
So why not a few more goes on Balder
Helix_10_03_53.JPG
Love!!
Helix_10_03_54.JPG
This isn't bad either
Helix_10_03_55.JPG

Helix_10_03_56.JPG
I was really blown away
Helix_10_03_57.JPG
Really beautiful
Helix_10_03_58.JPG
I really have to explore this area more in the future when it's dark, the X-mas season will be epic
Helix_10_03_59.JPG

Helix_10_03_65.JPG
They had some great music coupled with it
Helix_10_03_66.JPG
Kaboom!!
Helix_10_03_67.JPG
And this was the end of this season
