From Hershey Park's Facebook
Code: Select all
If you’re in and around Hershey, you may notice some activity near Roller Soaker, our water roller coaster. After 11 years of service, Roller Soaker will be removed to make way for additional water attractions in 2013. More to come soon!

I hope that whatever they decide to put in Roller Soaker's place is of high capacity (for a waterslide, that is). I'm personally pulling for a mat racer or an uphill slide.

Why do I still have a donkey title???

I like the fact that they said "attractions."

RS had quite a footprint, so it seems like they might be able to put in a couple good attractions there. Kinda bummed as it was a unique and fun attraction...but I agree that the capacity was horrible and so were the long lines.

Maybe they could sell it to Darien Lake. With the climate here in Western NY, we would be able to drop buckets of ice on people's heads!

Also, if you go on Hershey's coaster page, Roller Soaker is no longer listed.

Crap. I was looking forward to riding that one next year, chiefly because it's fairly unique. But perhaps it's a ride better suited to a smaller park (or just a waterpark), where capacity would be less of an issue.

Looks like these slide types are what's missing from the boardwalk.

The Megalite is *the* roller coaster of the world! (after finally riding Expedition Geforce I'll admit it was pretty awesome as well!)

Roller Soaker looked lamer than a Japanese jet coaster. I really hope that the park can put in a trap door looping slide.

I'm happy I got the credit this past season! Roller Soaker was indeed an interesting ride. Also it was the one and only ride I have ever gotten kicked off for being to big when I rode it in the same seat a few hours before. Oh well its been real!

I will provide you with maximum pleasure.

Roller Soaker was always at the very bottom of my steel list. It was rough, boring, and had awful capacity. I say good riddance!
